Good afternoon from Roda. A late report because I got invited to head to Acharavi for brunch with friends. The night was mild but wet judging by the standing water first thing. The morning did stay very cloudy, with Albania being lost across the channel where a solitary boat was at anchor. The rain did start just before twelve as I was heading out. I should have started my report earlier but had been chatting with friends on-line and didn’t realise how the time had flown. There doesn’t seem to much of a reprieve from this wet and stormy weather with Wednesday the only dry day forecast for the next 9 days. And it is due to get cooler with day time temperatures struggling to get into double figures!
The temperature at 10 am on Sunday 28th November was 15.6°C. First thing.
Just before I sat down to write this report we lost the mountains behind us in the heavy rain.
The reported UV for Today is 1 (Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice).
Yesterday was basically a very wet day with intermittent heavy rain showers and spells of thunder and lightning. There were some dry spells and a very brief glimpse of the sun, but these were overshadowed by the heavy rain showers accompanied by strong gusting winds. It was a mild day, but still a day for staying in and keeping dry. It was still raining as I did my check at 10.30pm when the temperature was 14.3°C. Yesterday the maximum temperature was 17.2°C and the minimum temperature was 14.6°C.
This day last year started off partly cloudy and the clouds won to give a complete covering by the end of the afternoon. There was not much wind but some haze. The clouds did clear somewhat to give space for a full moon and some stars by the time I did my final evening check. The maximum temperature was 14.6°C and the minimum was 7.9°C.
TEMPERATURE EXTREMES My recorded temperatures The highest recorded temp 2021 33.0°C 5th August The lowest recorded temp 2021 1.7°C 19th. January The official maximum recorded temperature ever in Corfu was 42.8°C With the lowest recorded temperature was -8.8°C.

Good morning from Roda. It was a mild and calm night waking up to a pretty sky with plenty of blue areas and white clouds, well that’s what I saw from my bed. The sky then clouded over and we had rumbles of thunder. When I did start checking properly there was blue sky around, but also dark threatening clouds especially over the mainland and the mountains behind me. The temperature isn’t bad but there is a very cold feeling gusty wind making it feel much colder. As I write this the dark clouds seem to be winning, and rain and thunderstorms are forecast but not until later on today after a dry afternoon. We shall see!
The temperature at 10 am on Monday 29th November was 13.8°C.
Another mixed morning with the weather! The three faces of the weather so far!
The reported UV for Today is 1-2 (Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice).
Yesterday was a horrible day. For the most part we had strong winds and driving heavy rain. There were a few breaks giving short spells of dry weather. The rain and wind continued well into the evening, but was merely very light drizzle when I checked at 10pm. It was a mild 15.7°C at 10pm and feeling not too bad as the wind had dropped by then. Yesterday the maximum temperature was 16.8°C and the minimum temperature was 13.5°C.
This day last year started off with some brightness around, but rain soon arrived with winds and a ruffled sea. The afternoon saw the strong wind wax and wane but the heavy rain increased. The evening was mostly dry with just a few spits and spots. The maximum temperature was 16.0°C and the minimum was 12.0°C.

Good afternoon from Roda. What a wild night, it was so bad that I stayed with a friend in the village as the rain was scarily torrential and we hat thunder and lightning adding to the mix. It had been dry when I set off but even then, the path was strewn with sea debris. This morning we have very rough seas and a strong NW wind trying to lift my furniture off the balcony. There is rain in the driving wind and snow on the peaks of the mainland once it cleared. The beach road is almost impassable as I came along it this morning. Sea grass blocked the entrance to the path by the Boathouse, and was several inches deep in front of the Coral. Stones were scattered over the entire road with waves hitting the sea wall and drenching the entire width. My phone had died so didn’t get any pics and to be honest it is too wild for me to venture out again. I have never seen weather like this for quite a while.
The temperature at 10 am on Tuesday 30th November was 11.4°C.
The reported UV for Today is 1 (Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice).
Yesterday we had times of blue skies and sunshine, but overall, it was a day of clouds, thunder and lightning. Gusting winds were giving us white horses out in the far channel but relatively calm inshore, but there were waves building up and crashing over the sea wall in front of the Coral. It was dry as I headed out for an early evening drink at Pirates to watch the UK quizzes with a group of friends. The pictures show the extent even then, of the debris across the beach road. Early evening though saw the heavens open with the rain pounding so hard on the roof of Alexandros it was a little frightening. And the wind got up and you could hear the raging sea. I loitered hoping the rain would ease, but it didn’t so I accepted the offer of a bed for the night. It would have been silly to have tried to walk home seeing how bad the route home was in the morning. Yesterday the maximum temperature was 15.4°C and the minimum temperature was 12.8°C.
When I came through here this morning it was inches deep in sea grass and stones. I had to walk on the supermarket’s terrace to get passed it. At the Coral I had to hug the wall as the water was right across the road there.
The calm before the storm. Note the whole tree trunk washed down to the sea.
This day last year started off with sunshine after a mild night. The clouds increased as did the wind, whipping up the sea into white horses. The clouds and wind eventually went by dusk leaving us with a clear calm moonlit, starlit night. The maximum temperature was 16.6°C and the minimum was 11.6°C.

Good afternoon from Roda. My Wellie Walker group took advantage of the one fine day we have and organised a walk towards the waterfalls at Nymphes, not quite getting there though. What a change this morning brought with almost cloudless skies, not much of a wind and a calm sea. It was cold though with the dawn temperature dropping to 7°C! I got a couple of loads of washing through the machine and out before breakfast, and it was warm enough in the sun (25°C) to enjoy it. I did see that the bulldozers were working along the beach road to remove the debris from the storms, and the council are supposed to be making repairs where the beach road had been partially washed away.
The temperature at 9 am on Wednesday 1st December was 8.0°C.
The reported UV for Today is 1 (Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice).
Yesterday the storm was starting to peter out during the morning with the wind dying and only getting a few spots of rain driven in that wind. Albania was lost in the haze and murk but began clearing in the afternoon revealing all the peaks gleaming white with the first snows of the season. The wind was still quite strong and bracing as I walked into the village dodging the waves, puddles, the stones and even small boulders spread across the road. There were several men trying to clear the road by the Boathouse where it was particularly bad. It was a beautiful sunset though as if to compensate for the bad weather! It was feeling very cold walking home under a mixed sky of clouds and stars in the bracing wind. The temperature was 11.6°C at 10.30pm feeling colder. Yesterday the maximum temperature was 12.6°C and the minimum temperature was 10.5°C.
This day last year was very similar to today but a bit warmer. We had mostly clear blue skies with a scattering of clouds a calm sea, no wind and barely audible waves. It did get a little cloudier by night but still plenty of room for the stars. The maximum temperature was 15.1°C and the minimum was 9.7°C.

It was a much milder night with the temperature staying just into double figures. Opening the curtains of my bedroom it looked quite promising with a decent amount of blue sky amidst the clouds, but opening my kitchen door there were black clouds right down the mountains with a fierce sun defiantly shining above them and evidence of previous rain. Thankfully the black clouds morphed to merely grey. It is quite breezy, but I just about managed to get my breakfast in the sun on my balcony before light rain drove me inside. As I write this the sun is making a determined effort not to be cowed by the clouds.
The temperature at 10 am on Thursday 2nd December was 13.8°C.
The reported UV for Today is 1 (Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice).
Yesterday stayed beautiful all day with just a few pretty clouds around that barely got in the way of the sun. I enjoyed my walk along the valley towards Nymphes walking alongside a river full of mini waterfalls and deep pools. So hard to believe that this is due to only the rain we’ve had and will be gone by the summer. Even when we were away from the river the ditches and minor streams were running fast with lovely clear water. The banks we passed were full of really tall snowdrops with just a very few wild cyclamens. The walk into the village was a much nicer experience last night. The sea was flat calm leaving a beach strewn with debris. The road had been cleared and even the path past Makris towards Achilleas’ place. Jon’s terrace shows the amount of seagrass to be cleaned up there. The sunset was so beautiful, followed by a cold but clear night with so many lights around the bay and stars in the sky. It was a chilly 8.4°C as I walked home. Yesterday the maximum temperature was 12.6°C and the minimum temperature was 10.5°C.
The terrace at the Boathouse after that storm!
This day last year was a mostly cloudy day with a few patches of blue during the day. But mostly it was a day of dark clouds, rainbows and a strong wind. We only got a few spots of rain but it was raining heavily in town. The maximum temperature was 15.4°C and the minimum was 9.5°C.

Good afternoon from Roda. Apologies for my late report but it was a final coffee morning with my friend before she and her lovely husband head back to France for the winter. She had laid on champagne and nibbles, so had a very pleasant morning chatting with friends and ignoring the heavy rain and thunderstorm going on outside. It was a mild night with the temperature reaching 15°C at one point, only dropping a degree by dawn. When I first looked out it didn’t seem too bad with some blue patches amongst the clouds, but by the time I was properly up the clouds had completely covered the sky. As I have already said the rain started late morning with thunder and lightning, leaving very large puddles in its wake.
The temperature at 10 am on Friday 3nd December was 16.0°C.

The reported UV for Today is 1 (Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice).
Yesterday was a mixed weather day. We had blue sky and pretty clouds to the north with black storm clouds to the south at the beginning. The day evened itself out with a mostly lumpy grey sky with a couple of rainbows, a little sunshine, rain and clouds rolling up and down the mountains and Albania coming and going across the channel. It was breezy at times and we did get periods of rain. The sea stayed calm looking but we did have waves close to the shore. The sunset was just a peach flush of some of the clouds, before a dry evening. There were plenty of clouds around but equally enough gaps to see some stars. The lights from across the channel were dimmed by the haze. It was mild though with the late evening temperature 14.5°C. Yesterday the maximum temperature was 14.6°C and the minimum temperature was 10.1°C.
This day last year we had torrential rain and high winds with poor visibility all round. It stayed very wet until mid-afternoon when it dried up a bit but never completely losing the rain. The temperature was in the mid-teens but feeling much less in that strong wind. The maximum temperature was 15.6°C and the minimum was 13.6°C.

Good morning from Roda. We had overnight rain and a cloudy but promising start to the day, especially to the north. It was still cloudy to the south however. But the skies cleared and the sun came out. I rushed to get my washing in, but its starting to look less sunny now, but I’m committed. Fingers crossed it does stay dry as I’m off out shopping soon. There are very good clear views of the mainland across the calm channel and the wind is gentle. Much better than the storms we had this day last year that blasted my cabinets off the balcony.
The temperature at 10 am on Saturday 4th December was 13.9°C.
The reported UV for Today is 1 (Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice).
Yesterday started off not too bad with some blue patches of sky amongst all the clouds. But it was just to lure you out. Once you were out and about the heavens opened and we had torrential rain. Albania had disappeared across a calm looking sea but inshore waves were crashing over the sea wall again with light debris being strewn across the road. We had thunder and lightning mid-day until it all died away and we had a dry rest of the day. Albania had emerged from the murk to show its village lights. There was a lovely displace of cloud lightning during the later part of the evening. It was mild, cloudy and dry at 10pm with the temperature 14°C. Yesterday the maximum temperature was 16.2°C and the minimum temperature was 14.0°C.
This day last year after we had a nightmare night with strong winds and torrential rain, thunder and lightning. The rain and wind lasted the morning before petering out by sunset, and we had a dry calm evening. The maximum temperature was 15.3°C and the minimum was 12.5°C.

Well, they had forecast rain all day, so it was quite a surprise to wake from a cold night to find we had almost clear skies and constant sunshine, so a quick dash to set the washing machine off with the last load. Yes, there are clouds around but they are mostly around the edges. The mainland is stunningly clear with a fresh cap of gleaming white snow on the high peaks. There is the merest of breezes, and the sea is looking calm with the gentle sound of waves coming ashore. I enjoyed my breakfast on the balcony, too warm in my dressing gown despite the shade temperature barely into double figures!
The temperature at 10 am on Sunday 5th December was 11.8°C.
The reported UV for Today is 1 (Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice).
Yesterday wasn’t a bad day at all, we had plenty of sunshine with any clouds not really interfering at all. There wasn’t much of a breeze for most of the day. The clouds did gather towards sunset and we got a very quick splash of rain. I would have missed it but for the fact the balcony rain was wet just after I brough my washing in. The sea though had been very restless with big waves breaking over the sea walls again. At one point the road in front of the Coral was covered in water, and we have more pebbles, sea grass and other debris across lengths of the beach road again. I had to dodge getting splashed by some of the bigger waves as I walked into the village in the early evening. The waves were less wild as I made my way home, and the wind that had got quite gusty in the early evening had started to die away. It was fairly mild at 11°C at midnight. Yesterday the maximum temperature was 14.8°C and the minimum temperature was 11.8°C.
This day last year was very windy with clear views of Albania across a ruffled sea. We had plenty of sun despite there being quite a few clouds around, which dispersed somewhat during the afternoon. A mild day feeling warm in sheltered spots. The maximum temperature was 15.3°C and the minimum was 12.5°C.

Good morning from Roda. I was woken whilst it was still dark with a raging thunder and lightning storm with heavy rain in the wind. Judging by the amount of standing water we had a lot of rain during the night. It did stop but has been replaced for intermittent light rain. Albania is missing across the channel and the clouds are down the hills behind me. It is feeling very cold in that wind and rain, and looks like staying dark and miserable all day.
The temperature at 10 am on Monday 6th December was 11.8°C.
The reported UV for Today is 1 (Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice).
Yesterday started off promising with lovely clear skies and the clouds restricted to the edges. It did get steadily cloudier and by early afternoon we had dark threatening clouds coming down the hills behind Acharavi where I was for lunch. The mainland became a solid black mass with the sea and amazing shade of luminous light jade in colour. The rain started increasing in the amount until we had steady rain for much of the rest of the day. When I stuck my head out of the door at 10pm we did have some breaks in the clouds and it was dry with some stars making an appearance. It felt quite mild at 13.5°C. Yesterday the maximum temperature was 14.7°C and the minimum temperature was 8.8°C.
This day last year was windy all day, pretty early morning clouds grew in number throughout the day to completely cover the sky. The wind whipped the sea up into white horses in the afternoon. It stayed dry all day apart from a very brief spat of rain. The maximum temperature was 18.7°C and the minimum was 15.1°C.

We must have had a lot of over night rain as we have a very waterlogged garden this morning with large puddles and full fast running ditches. We had light grey clouds and sunshine on the mainland, but the clouds and rain have reappeared with the mainland now gone and the murk well down the mountains behind us. We have a calm sea barely making any noise at all. Thunderstorms are forecast for later on today.
The temperature at 10 am on Tuesday 7th December was 12.1°C.
The reported UV for Today is 1 (Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice).
Yesterday started with thunder and lightning, and we ended the day the same way, in between we had a lot of rain, most of it heavy at times. The showers persisted all day, but I did manage to get a walk into the village along the beach road. I admit I failed to avoid the rain, but a good coat and my umbrella saved the day. The waves were still trying to play tag with me as they left puddles on the road. Again, by the Coral the water was right across the road with other places having sea grass and fine sand spread across. Jon Banos has sandbagged the gate to his garden! It was just a wet and miserable day, one to be staying in the house close to the fire. Yesterday the maximum temperature was 14.4°C and the minimum temperature was 12.6°C.
This day last year we had a very warm night (18.7°C) and torrential rain. It was dry with quite a bit of blue with the dark clouds to one side. The clouds won and we had more heavy rain for a short while before the skies mostly cleared to give a dry rest of the day. The maximum temperature was 18.7°C and the minimum was 15.1°C.

At least the strong winds of yesterday had died away, but there is still a cold breeze coming off all that new snow that is topping those Albanian peaks. It does look very pretty, but it is quite chilly this morning. The sea is still quite rough with very noisy waves coming ashore. Luckily, they are not sending anymore stones and debris onto the beach road which is in a terrible state again, needing a bulldozer to clear it away again. There are a lot more clouds than were forecast, or indeed hoped for. But I do have two loads of washing out hopefully drying. My last wash day before heading back to the UK.
The temperature at 10 am on Wednesday 8th December was 12.0°C.
The reported UV for Today is 1 (Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice).
Yesterday was another very windy and stormy day. We had huge waves crashing over the sea wall flooding the beach road. I tried to walk into the village in the early evening as the rain had stopped for a while and we even got a hint of a sunset with a slight blush to the clouds over the mainland. There was at least two inches (5cm in new money) across the entire road from Ammos as far as I could see towards the Boathouse. As well as the water the waves were crashing over the wall threatening to drench me. I turned back and walked along the private path to get to the lane towards Elizabeth, but the heavens opened. I gave it up as a bad job and headed back to dry off. The noise of the waves barely abated all evening, but the strength of the wind did ease a bit. The rain had stopped when I checked at 10pm when it was a very cold feeling 10.8°C Yesterday the maximum temperature was 12.9°C and the minimum temperature was 11.0°C.
This day we had an overnight thunderstorm but the morning was sunny with plenty of blue sky, with the first snows of the winter on the mainland. It was downhill after that though with threatening clouds gathering, giving us heavy rain showers before settling into more constant rain starting in the afternoon and lasting well into the evening. We had strong winds with the rain and a twister was reported at Erikousa! The maximum temperature was 16.0°C and the minimum was 12.0°C.

Good afternoon from Roda. Apologies for the late report, I just got chatting with a friend in the UK and didn’t realise how the time had flown. Anyway, it was quite a mild night, but I awoke to lashing rain on the south balcony with driving strong winds. My cupboard on the balcony has suffered but I’m just leaving it for now as I would get soaked in seconds. The mainland is lost in the murk and I can’t hear the sea over the heavy rain. We have had one or two extremely brief periods when the sun tried to shine, but was beaten into retreat by the clouds and the wind. I am staying in today unless it gets much better!
The temperature at 10 am on Thursday 9th December was 14.1°C.
The reported UV for Today is 1 (Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice).
Yesterday we still had big seas threatening to come over the beach road again, which you can see from the photos is covered in stones, seagrass and detritus. We did get some periods of sunshine in the morning and the clouds did clear in the afternoon to give some nice warm spells if you found a sheltered spot. The sunset was very pretty with plenty of pink tinged clouds and snow on the mainland mountain peaks. It did feel quite cold all day what with those winds. It was a chilly 9.0°C at 10pm. The evening was quite clear with plenty of lights on both sides of the channel, with stars and a setting crescent moon decorating the sky.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 13.2°C and the minimum temperature was 10.7°C. Very pretty sunset, I missed the best photos as in the village at the time.
The rosy tipped snow peaks on the mainland.
Debris on the beach road again. It is particularly bad by Nino’s and making to get into my lane tricky.
This day was generally another wet day with a thunder and lightning storm and torrential rain at times. It got very windy adding to the misery. We did get a spell of dry weather at sunset, but it was brief and soon replaced with more heavy rain and more thunder and lightning. By the late evening it was dry and the wind had thankfully died away. The maximum temperature was 16.5°C and the minimum was 14.1°C.

Good morning from Roda. We had more thunder during the night and it woke me this morning. There was a gentle rain falling with no wind and a calm sea in front of the dark grey shape that was the mainland. Some gaps in the clouds appeared and we got a watery sun for a few minutes, before it reverted to the rain. The govern ahs put out a storm weather warning for the north of Greece including the Ionian islands for thunder storms with heavy snow for northern Greece. It is to last until Sunday. The sun returns on Monday thankfully. I am flying to UK for Christmas. I am trying to organise cover whilst I am away whilst Dave is still unable to get to any WiFi to post his reports. I have posted three photos as the sky is so variable depending on which way you look!
The temperature at 10 am on Friday 10th December was 11.8°C.
The reported UV for Today is 2 (Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice).
Yesterday was just a series of varying degrees of horrible. It was windy with torrential rain. There were one or two miniscule periods of brighter weather, but they were soon submerged under another deluge of rain. The sea was calm though as the wind was coming from the south, but the authorities ordered only closed sided ferries to be used due to the high seas on the route to the mainland. It was a mild day though, but wouldn’t have felt it if caught out in that wind and rain. The early evening sky was a very ominous grey/purple colour all over. It did dry up during the evening and was a mild 12.7°C at 10 pm.

Hi everyone. I am sorry for the breakdown in service but the storm took out my phone line and I had no internet. We will be back on line tomorrow. I can only apologise. Jan

Good evening from a cold dark and wet Scotland. My fried who lives in Kavalouri near Roda, is sending me a report every day as Dave is still not walking well enough to get to a WiFi signal. This morning saw a low shade temperature of 2C at 8am rising to a heady 10C in the afternoon. But in sunny spots it was warm enough to be just in t-shirts. Ther was no wind, clear skies and constant sunshine. The forecast is for more sunshine over the next few days, and an overnight low of 5C.
My last walk into the village showed spectacular colours of a pale jade sea against dark ominous clouds. I have also included a photo I took flying over the alps covered in snow.
