Good morning from Roda. Oh, what a morning we have had so far. Dawn saw us having pretty pink tinged clouds a gentle wind and a calm sea. But the temperature started dropping from 23.0°C, the wind started getting very strong and the sea whipped up by that wind into white crested waves right across the channel. The rain started as gentle drops before quickly getting heavy with my neighbour’s broken guttering causing a stream to cascade down. The clouds had been hiding Albania when the rain started and a check out the back showed our mountains being swallowed up. There were a few rumbles of thunder as a parting gift. Then everything started to calm down with the skies clearing, the wind dying down and the sea calming down. We have blue skies now and the sea is back to being calm and blue. This all happened in under an hour. Late risers will have missed it all. Now I have to wipe down my balcony railings as the rain deposited a lot of dirt as it fell. The temperature is starting to rise, and a few innocent clouds have appeared.
The temperature at 10 am on Tuesday 21st September was 21.8°C real feel 22°C.
This series of photos was taken over the period of an hour. That is not blue sky in the first one, just a uniform grey sky behind the spout of water coming from my neighbour’s guttering!
The reported UV for Today is 6 (Range 1- 11+). Some weather sites have the UV at 11. UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice). With these high levels of UV everyone needs to be slapping on their high and then from late afternoon when you can enjoy the heat of the sun with less chance of burning.
Yesterday, was a decent day. The early morning clear skies got decorated with pretty white cotton-wool type clouds whose bottoms had been dipped in grey paint. I spent the afternoon on the beach at Astrakeri, where the sun started hiding itself behind small clouds. We could see sun all around us, even at the opposite ends of the beach! But we did have good long periods of sunshine so had nothing really to complain about as it was very warm anyway. Albania stayed under a blanket of cloud all day. I came away slightly sunburnt as there was a bit of a breeze that hid the strength of the sun. The clouds quickly melted away as we approached sunset, giving us a lovely monochromatic show over the headland. It was a warm evening with an almost full moon and some stars bright enough to hold their own. The sea just gently lapped the beach and there was hardly any wind. It was 23°C at midnight.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 27.0°C (real feel 29°C) and the minimum was 22.8°C.
Dave’s report from this day last year. Good morning from a hazy Sfakera. Albania again hardly visable due to a hazy sea mist. The air is still and it is cloudless with the sun rising for what appears to be another lovely day.
Yesterday the clouds cleared as the sun rose and it was a lovely sunny morning. A light wind came and with it a build up of clouds over our hill some gray and shouldering the Pantocrator peaks. It was also cloudy to the west and south west giving us a few sunless intervals. We still had a nice orange sunset followed by a mainly starlit sky.
The minimum was 20.4c and the maximum was 29.8c. TEMPERATURE EXTREMES The maximum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was 31.0°C on 1st. August. The minimum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was -1.4°C. 8th. January.
My recorded temperatures The highest recorded temp 2021 33.0°C 5th August The lowest recorded temp 2021 1.7°C 19th. January The maximum recorded temperature ever in Corfu was 42.8°C The lowest recorded temperature was -8.8°C.

Good morning from Roda. It was a slightly cooler night so my window stayed shut, though to be truthful more for the predicted strong north-westerly winds due during the small hours. I awoke to a sparkling more with the mainland so clear across a deep blue/green colour flecked with many herds of white horses. We have a lovely blue sky decorated with some pretty clouds. The maestro our north-westerly wind is blowing nicely but is due to get much stronger during the morning before dying away for the evening. It may only be 23°C in the shade, but in full sun on my south balcony the thermometer is reading 43°C!
The temperature at 10 am on Wednesday 22nd September was 23.2°C real feel 19.5°C.
Yesterday, was not at all bad after such a stormy start. But that storm didn’t cover the whole island in fact Sidari and other nearby villages didn’t get any rain at all! Such is the nature of our many micro climates here. The day cleared up quite nicely to give us a lovely sunny day but the strengthening breeze brought some clouds before easing a bit for the evening. We had a pretty little sunset as there was little to add interest to it. The night sky was dominated by the full moon eclipsing all but the brightest stars. We had a gentle breeze and gentle waves during the coolish night, with the temperature at 11.30pm a21.1°C
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 26.1°C (real feel 27°C) and the minimum was 21.3°C.
This day last year weather report. Good morning from Sfakera. We had another heavy overnight dew but it is still and the sun is up. There is a large bank of cloud to the NE and North so Albania is hardly visible; more cloud to the distant West. We are told to expect unsettled weather for the rest of the week.
Yesterday morning it was lovely and sunny with a gentle breeze. Big fluffy clouds built up in West and South West and over our peaks. In the afternoon there was alight wind and the clouds built up further eventually casing sunless intervals and total shade by 6pm. There was a partial starlit night as the clouds slowly cleared away.
The minimum temperature was 19.9c and the maximum was 27.8c. TEMPERATURE EXTREMES The maximum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was 31.0°C on 1st. August. The minimum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was -1.4°C. 8th. January.

Good morning from Roda. It was a cool night, not unexpected as we are definitely seeing autumnal colours on the trees and blackberries in the hedges. Taking my tea onto the balcony I was met with another sparkling morning. The low humidity meant that the mainland was so clear across a beautiful deep blue sea, still with big white-topped waves crashing onto the shore. There is a lovely blue sky with just a few bits and bobs of clouds to the south and west. There is still a bit of a breeze and we are due to get more strong winds later on.
The temperature at 10 am on Thursday 23rd September was 20.2°C real feel 20°C.
The reported UV for Today is 5 (Range 1- 11+). Some weather sites have the UV at 11. UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice). Yesterday stayed mostly clear and sunny, but cool. The wind steadily increased until it was seemed almost gale force. It whipped the sea up into big waves right across the channel. Albania stayed beautiful and clear all day looking spectacular with the raging sea in front of it. We got a few clouds appearing at sunset to give a pretty show. I had to dodge the waves crashing against the sea wall by the Coral hotel. The first one caught me unawares. The waves hadn’t died down much by the time I walked back later on during the night. The sky was clear lit up with slightly less than full moon with a few bright stars and plenty of lights on both sides of the channel. It was a cool feeling 21°C at midnight.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 24.0°C (real feel 24°C) and the minimum was 19.5°C.
This weather report for 23rd and 24th September 2020. Good morning from Sfakera where it is a damp start after an early morning thunderstorm. Whilst the thunder was not too loud and lasted for hours the rain was heavy but didn't last for more than an hour. At dawn we have the odd hint of blue the odd star in view but it is mainly gray.
DUe to rains, power cuts and lack of internet I was unable to get online yesterday so I catch up with Tuesday first.
Tuesday a light wind came early and pushed the clouds back giving us a nice sunny morning. My friends having returned to the UK I was able to do two loads of laundry and get them dry. It was muggy and the clouds in the west and south west slowly rolled in during the mid afternoon leaving us in the shade though the sun reappeared for a while after 7pm until it set. The was a partial starlit night early before the clouds covered and rumbles of thunder started after 10pm, distant and like a roll of tanks passing bye.
The minimum was 21.8 and the maximum was 29.4c.
Yesterday the storm arrived in the early hours and the thunder slowly got louder, lightning too and then the rains; steady at first and then heavier. These rains had come from the NE (not so usual here) and soaked my balcony including my cushions, throws and dog covers. It eased around 7am though it continued to drizzle and a gusting wind picked up. More thunder continued and the rains got heavier; due to the circling weather front these came from the SW and heavy rains lasted until about 9:30 but it remained windy and very gray all around. After 11am it wind eased off and it became a little brighter. During the early afternoon we had 3 powercuts, the first 2 were short but the 3rd lasted nearly 75 minutes. There was the odd hint of sun for a short while that quickly vanished as thunder again was heard; rains again, light at first after 4:20pm and when the lightning appeared the rains got heavier. They didn't last for too long before more gusting winds cleared them away and it again got brighter and we had a fair bit of sun after 7pm until it set. There were a few early stars before it began to cloud over again.
The minimum was 19.9c and the maximum was just 24.2c.
TEMPERATURE EXTREMES The maximum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was 31.0°C on 1st. August. The minimum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was -1.4°C. 8th. January.

Good morning from Roda. It was a very cold dawn with the temperature dropping to 13.5°C! That was a bit of a shock after the 19°C of the last two mornings. We still have the great visibility we have enjoyed for the last couple of days, with Albania so clear across the channel. The sea has calmed right down after the big waves of the previous couple of days. Though I can still hear waves coming ashore. The heat is building nicely, the temperature in the shade was a lowly 18°C but in the sun on the south balcony was a very warm 37°C. We have a lovely blue sky with a setting almost full moon and a couple of pathetic excuses for clouds.
The temperature at 10 am on Friday 24th September was 18.1°C real feel 18°C.
With these high levels of UV everyone needs to be slapping on their high and then from late afternoon when you can enjoy the heat of the sun with less chance of burning.
Yesterday was a cool but very sunny day, but if you were in the sun, it would feel lovely and warm. The morning breeze strengthened into quite strong wind, whipping the already big waves even higher and further out into the channel. The photos are from the previous day but it looked exactly the same. There were barely any clouds around to add interest into a lovely monochromatic sunset. The wind died away almost completely but left a very noisy sea still pounding the shore. The almost full moon was waning amidst a fair sprinkling of stars. It was still 21°C at 10pm.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 22.2°C (real feel 22°C) and the minimum was 19.2°C.

Good morning from Roda. It was a marginally warmer night last night at just under 16°C, but still cool for this time of year. It was a champagne morning when I stepped out onto my balcony for my second cup of tea. The mainland was crystal clear with no haze blurring the details. The sea between us was a beautiful shade of blue, with it barely whispering as it hit the shoreline. The sky was a pure cloudless shade of blue with the setting moon the only touch of white. To complete the scene there was barely any wind to ruffle the sea or the leaves on the trees. Whilst it may have only been 18.6°C on the shady balcony but it was a very warm 46°C on the sunny one. So, although the temperature is several degrees than is usual, once you are in the sun there is the essential heat that keep our visitors happy. You just need a light jacket for those evening strolls.
The temperature at 10 am on Saturday 25th September was 18.6°C real feel 19°C NOT 15.5°C!
Yesterday stayed perfect all day with only a minor grumble that it was a tad cool if you stayed in the shade. The beach was fairly full of sun worshipers soaking up the rays. We had a gentle breeze which hardly increased in the afternoon, though something stronger was forecast. The sea did get ruffled for a while before settling down to be lovely and calm. We got that lovely pre-sunset golden clear light, before the world flushed pink as the sun set. It was however it was a slightly disappointing monochromatic effort before we settled into a cooling evening with a waning 2/3 moon amidst quite a good selection of stars. It was 17.4°C at 11.30pm.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 22.4°C (real feel 22°C) and the minimum was 13.5°C.
Dave’s weather report for this day last year. Good morning from a sunny Sfakera. There is plenty of cloud hiding Albania and hint of some to the far South West otherwise it is slightly hazy, still and the sun is shining. My washing is out to dry and another load on. Then it is putting away garden furniture and moving some plants and taking down tomatoes (as green for chutney) as we are due rains, heavy during tonight and tomorrow and then some everyday until at least Tuesday. Odd it would have been the Beer Festival this week and it always seems to rain when that is on.
Yesterday after the thunderstorm cleared we had some brief sunny intervals as the clouds moved slowly to the NE. At that time the sky to the West was already clear and blue. After 10am the clouds were mostly confined to over our hills apart from thin wispy layers that didn't affect the sun during the rest of the morning. A light afternoon wind brought in a few passing clouds around 1:30 and the sun was just hazy but it soon cleared to full sun with big fluffy white clouds over our hills and Albania with a very thin layer towards the west. It remained that way until sunset. There was an almost complete set of stars to view last night.
The minimum was 19.2c and the maximum was 27.7c
TEMPERATURE EXTREMES The maximum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was 31.0°C on 1st. August. The minimum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was -1.4°C. 8th. January.

Good morning from Roda. Oops, just spotted an error in yesterday’s report! The real feel at 10am was 19.0°C not 15.5°C. I will correct it, sorry. It was another chilly night with the temperature dropping to just a shade under 14°C! But what a morning when I did crawl out of my warm bed! We have another clear and cloudless blue sky, a gentle breeze and a calm, but noisy, blue sea. Despite the increase in humidity the mainland is crystal clear again. The 10am temperature in the shade may have been a mere 19°C, but in full sun it was reaching 40°C. The forecast for the end of next week is not good, but I don’t believe anything beyond a couple of days.
The temperature at 10 am on Sunday 26th September was 19°C real feel 19.0°C.
Yesterday stayed lovely all day, cool in the shade but still gloriously hot in the sun. There was an increase in the breeze in the afternoon, bringing with it some of those very long low waves that we seem to get in the bay. The mainland stayed beautifully clear all day right into the evening. As the sunset approached, after that lovely golden light we get, the mountains over there flushed shades of pink and lilac showing every fold in the mountainsides. I tried to capture it, but failed again, but hope you get an impression of how amazing it looked. The sunset itself was pretty much a non-event with just a glow in the western sky. We had a cooling evening with plenty of stars and lights on both sides of the channel. It was a mild 18°C at 10pm as I walked back from the village, after having indulged in spit roast lamb at Petrino’s.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 22.6°C (real feel 23°C) and the minimum was 15.5°C.
Dave’s weather report for this day last year. Good morning from Sfakera. It is damp after another early hours thunderstorm; this time heavy rains, lots of lightning but not so much thunder. It eased when a light wind picked up about 5am. Currently the sun is shining but it is very grey to the NE, East below the rising sun and South east; much lighter and more patches of blue sky to the NW, West. The storm is circling so we are expected to get more storms throughout the day unless the winds shift its direction.
Yesterday morning was mainly sunny with a gusting light wind. There were many clouds around building more from the SW; as they built into the afternoon so the gusting wind got stronger, up to F4-5 at times, but the sun always shone. The wind dropped and the cloud was almost full cover by 5pm when the sun vanished. It was full cover by 7pm and there were faster moving grayer clouds under coming from the SW and the light gusting wind had returned. Approaching midnight lightning could be seen and the odd rumble of distant thunder as the storm began to approach.
The minimum temperature was 19.5v, the maximum was 26.4c.
TEMPERATURE EXTREMES The maximum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was 31.0°C on 1st. August. The minimum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was -1.4°C. 8th. January.

Good morning from Roda. It was a cool night with the temperature falling to just under 15°C quite a bit cooler than we would expect for this time of year. Fortunately, in the sun we are still feeling it lovely and hot. We had a lovely mostly clear blue sky, though at time we have had some dappled clouds coming and going. The sea is flat calm, there is barely any breeze and the mainland is standing nice and clear across the channel. Though there appears to be a strange mist/ thin cloud surrounding some of the peaks. It may only be 21°C as I write this in the shade but it is 47°C in full sun on the other balcony. Two photos today as I had to go and get my pre-flight Covid test early this morning, so I walked back home along the sea. I will miss it so much when back in Scotland for a few weeks before returning for the winter. Dave will continue to do the weather for me whilst I’m away.
The temperature at 10 am on Monday 27th September was 19.1°C real feel 19.0°C.
The reported UV for Today is 5 (Range 1- 11+). Some weather sites have the UV at 11. Yesterday was just a perfect day. The skies stayed clear, the wind remained gentle and the sea calm all day. The afternoon breeze failed to make much of a difference, before resuming its calm state. We did get a few streaks of clouds to the west but they failed to do anything to the sunset, which was a bit of a non-event. The evening felt cool, I had to put a jacket on to go out for dinner at Ammos, delicious as usual, they I had a wander up to Oasis to see Kostas and Nikos, as they will be closed when I get back. Walking home from there we had a lovely half moon rising in the eastern sky in a dark sky with a good number of stars. There was no wind at all and the sea was flat calm and crystal clear. It was a cool 16.7°C at midnight.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 22.8°C (real feel 23°C) and the minimum was 13.6°C.
Dave’s weather report for this day last year. Good morning from a chilly and grey Sfakera; almost full cloud cover and a few spots of rain. The clouds to the east are orange in colour. There is a light wind and its the coolest morning for a long time.
Yesterday morning we had a few short sunny intervals and a light wind. Early afternoon still some sun but black clouds were over Ericoussa. The wind picked up just after 1pm and there was a lone lightning flash and rumble of thunder. A shower followed getting heavy but it was short lived (about 15 minutes). Again a few short sunny intervals before another very heavy short shower at 3:16pm. More sun but gusty winds. At about 4:50 the A2 super yacht passed Agnos heading Sidari way. Slowly it cleared a bit and the gusty wind dropped and we had sun from about 6pm until near 7pm. There were just a few sunny intervals thereafter as the cloud cover increased and the wind picked up again. It stayed a light wind all night. Initially it was part starlit but the clouds were always there, big and dark grey.
The minimum temperature was 21.8c and the maximum was just 23.9c. TEMPERATURE EXTREMES The maximum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was 31.0°C on 1st. August. The minimum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was -1.4°C. 8th. January.

Good morning from Roda. It was a warmer night due to it being very cloudy with the minimum temperature a warm 18°C. Dawn was very pretty with pink tinged clouds on a blue background, but the clouds have increased a bit since then. The wind though is almost zero and the sea is flat calm, and the haze is back trying to hide Albania. The sun is supposed to be making an appearance. At the moment it is dull but bright with the sun’s position only just visible through the clouds.
The temperature at 10 am on Tuesday 28th September was 21.5°C real feel 22.0°C.
Yesterday was nice and sunny during the day with only a few clouds. The breeze was non-existent and the sea calm and clear. The afternoon breeze did get up and ruffled the sea before dying away completely for the evening. The clouds started building from the west to completely hide the sunset and was a 100% coverage soon after. It was a warm evening with no stars but plenty of lights on both sides of the channel for my last walk back from the village. It was 21°C at 10pm. I fly to Scotland today to spend time with my family.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 23.3°C (real feel 24°C) and the minimum was 14.7°C.
Dave’s weather report for this day last year. Good morning from a wet and windy Sfakera. Several hours of heavy rain during the early hours accompanied by a gusting wind. at dawn it was still windy and very grey all around but clear overhead. This will change quickly due to the winds and an unsettled day is expected.
Yesterdaymorning cleared sufficiently for us to have plenty of sun with a light wind.Big fluffy clouds were always passing around. It stayed this way until about 4pm when the clouds began to dominate and the sunny periods reduced. There was a short 5 minute shower at around 5:15pm; it quickly passed and the sun was out by 5:45 and the wind had eased. Several sunny intervals and a longer period after 7:10 until the sunset a little early but always grey clouds around. AFternightfall we had a partial starlit night; a light gusting wind but the storm clouds were gathering.
The minimum temperature was 17.6c and the maximum was 23.9c.

Good morning from Sfakera where the sun is rising slowly. It is mostly cloudless and was 20.1c at 7:30am; there are however some big fluffy clouds to north of Albania and some greyer clouds to the far south west. Of 3 tv channel weather forecasts I watched yesterday one said it would rain today the others said the rain would stay on the mainland. The air is currently still but has a damp feel.
Yesterday was a very cloudy start though mild. The sun did try to get through the small gaps in the clouds but never stayed out too long making it warm and a bit muggy. There was a period after midday when it brightened up with a bit more sun but by 3pm it was back to full cloud. A final late flurry of sun from 6:30 until it set bright yellow behind Karousades hill. It started as partly starlit night with stars mainly seen to the south but as the night went on so the clouds slowly moved away giving more stars. There seemed to be more bats out than usual feeding around the street light and there were certainly more mozzies than usual at my place!!!
The minimum temperature was 19.9c and the maximum was 26.5c.

Hi I apologise for the breakdown in service as Dave has had an accident which prevents him going up to the Kafenion to post his reports. As I am in Scotland at the moment we can't do our daily weather reports. I am trying to find a local person with a weather station who can step in. Again I can only apologise.

Good morning from Roda. It is lovely to be back here in Roda and I can only apologise for the breakdown in service. It was dry when I peered out of the windows. We have a solid block of grey that is Albania no wind and a flat calm sea. The forecast has changed and there is less rain promised.
The temperature at 10 am on Sunday 24th October was 16.7°.
The reported UV for Today is 3 (Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice).
Yesterday was extremely wet here in Corfu we managed to land whilst it was dry but the standing water around the runway and on the approach roads told their own story. It started raining as we approached the north of the island. We had light showers which didn’t put off my granddaughter who dragged her dad into the pool for a swim in the rain! It stayed light rain until the heavens opened and we had torrential downpour in the early evening. It is a long time since I have seen such rain. There was a curtain of rain coming off the awning by the pool at Theos and the floor got flooded! I managed to get home though later on when the rain had stopped as predicted around 8pm. It was a mild 15.7°C at 9pm when I called it a day as had been up early for my flight back to Corfu.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 21.1°C (real feel 21°C) and the minimum was 15.7°C. This day last year stated off quite clear but got increasingly cloudy as the day wore on with the mountain tops getting lost in the clouds. They started thinning by late afternoon and almost went by 6pm. We managed a few stars after a poor sunset and the sea and wind stayed calm. The maximum temperature was 20.1°C and the minimum 12.3°C.

Good morning from Roda. After all the rain since I got back it was lovely to wake up to blue sky, some clouds and the SUN! The mountains of Albania seem so close today with every ridge and valley on display. The sea is an interesting shade of peacock green and quite choppy looking. I have moved having my breakfast to the south balcony as the mornings are a little too chilly for the north facing one. That’s when I found we do have a bit of a cool wind taking the edge off the heat of the sun. But I’m not complaining, and the rain has gone on the forecast until Thursday, good news for my family.
The temperature at 10 am on Monday 25th October was 17.1°C.
The reported UV for Today is 3 (Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice).
Yesterday started off with showers and some periods of persistent rain lasting into the early afternoon. The sea though was flat calm with the waves barely having the energy to come ashore. There was barely a breath of wind to stir the palm trees along the shore line. The rain petered out in the afternoon just leaving it feeling damp with the occasional spit and spot. The evening though was dry if cloudy and mild feeling with the late evening temperature 16.3°C. Yesterday the maximum temperature was 19.0°C (real feel 19°C) and the minimum was 16.4°C. This day last year there was a couple of hours of early morning rain clearing for breakfast time. The day stayed fine and mostly cloud free. The wind got up giving us a choppy sea before dying away. There was a half moon and clear skies at night. The maximum temperature was 20.5°C and the minimum 14.3°C.

It was a fairly mild night with the temperature only dropping to 14°C pre-dawn. There is a fair number of clouds, but we have some blue patches and the sun has hit the sides of the mountains on Albania. It is supposed to be sunny today with temperatures to reach 21°C, and it is supposed to remain sunny until the weekend. Which is good news for the OXI day parades.
The temperature at 10 am on Tuesday 26th October was 15.3°C.
The reported UV for Today is 3 (Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice).
Yesterday was just lovely all day with just a sprinkling of clouds around which never interfered with the sun. The wind stayed easterly and cool and the sea remained very calm. There was a layer of thin clouds to the west that made the sunset and bit of a non-event, but prior to that the air had been so clear and every detail on the mainland stood out, and you felt you could almost count the leaves on the trees on the hills behind me. The evening was mild with the wind dropping away with a waxing moon and plenty of stars. It was 15.9°C at 10.30pm. Yesterday the maximum temperature was 20.0°C (real feel 21°C) and the minimum was 14.2°C. This day last year we had almost clear cloudless skies, feeling cool in the shade but very warm in the sun. The sea and wind were both very calm. There was a waxing moon and plenty of stars after a fuzzy sunset due to light clouds in the west. The maximum temperature was 20.1°C and the minimum 12.7°C.
TEMPERATURE EXTREMES The maximum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was 31.0°C on 1st. August. The minimum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was -1.4°C. 8th. January.

Good morning from Roda. And what a lovely morning it is. We have mostly clear blue skies after a cool night with the temperature dropping to 12.7°C at dawn. There are some clouds around but they won’t get in the way of the sun if it stays the way it is now. Albania is staying nice and clear across the still calm deep blue sea, and the wind is nice and gentle. I think I’ll be taking my granddaughter to the beach today. It has turned out to be a very much better week than was forecast, cloudy on Saturday, raining on Sunday and dry for the next seven days at least!
The temperature at 10 am on Wednesday 27th October was 14.6°C.
The reported UV for Today is 3 (Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice).
Yesterday was glorious in the morning with lots of sunshine a calm sea and a complete lack of wind. It was cool in the shade but out in the sun it was lovely. We had a trip to Kassiopi and one sheltered beach was quite busy. I will post some photos later on as have to meet them for breakfast. The afternoon got cloudier and we lost the sun at times. Like yesterday the air was so clear just as the sun was beginning to set with Albania seeming so close! There was a dramatic cloudy sunset with pretty clouds against a golden sky. The evening was cool but we still had some stars and plenty of lights from the mainland. It was 16°C at 10pm. Yesterday the maximum temperature was 19.0°C (real feel 19°C) and the minimum was 14.0°C.
Photos I should have posted yesterday but I had awful problems loading them onto the Imgur site. No problem today though.
This day last year started off well with clear skies to the north and clouds to the south, the clouds won and we got a shower during the morning. It stayed dry with the clouds loitering for the rest of the day but leaving big areas of the sky clear. The maximum temperature was 20.2°C and the minimum 12.7°C.
TEMPERATURE EXTREMES The maximum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was 31.0°C on 1st. August. The minimum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was -1.4°C. 8th. January.

Good afternoon from Roda. It is OXI day here, the Greek equivalence to our Remembrance Sunday. It is to commemorate the day a previously neutral Greece told Italy that they could not come onto Greek soil, and said it is war! OXI being the Greek word for no! I went to the local parade in Acharavi before I could write this report. Morning brought clear skies after a cold night when the temperature dropped to 10°C, bringing condensation to my bedroom window for the first time this winter. I brought the dehumidifier out and it was soon cleared. There was no wind and a barely whispering sea as I went onto the balcony. The sun will soon dry up the wet lawns and cold wet outside marble surfaces. It was very warm standing in the sun in Acharavi.
The temperature at 10 am on Thursday 28th October was 12.7°C.
The reported UV for Today is 3 (Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around and around the summer solstice).
Yesterday stayed lovely all day. I took my family down to Corfu town and I don’t think we say a cloud all day until we got back in the early evening. The town is always a couple of degrees warmer than here, but it was just a pleasant temperature for sight-seeing. Though we only saw the port, and the old fort and two play grounds for my granddaughter. By the time we got back to Roda a few clouds had gathered to the west to add a little interest to the sunset, providing a foil for the golden glow. The wind stayed calm, but we did have the beginnings of very low long waves coming ashore. There were plenty of lights from across the channel, to go with the numerous stars, but there was a noticeable decrease in the lights on our side as businesses close for the season. It felt a cold night with the temperature around 15°C at 10pm. Skouna and Roxannes now have lovely gas heaters to warm their customers as they eat. A new thing for this year.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 19.3°C (real feel 21°C) and the minimum was 12.7°C.
This day last year was mostly grey but clear with not much in the way of a wind and a calm sea. There wers some breaks in the clouds in the late afternoon which gave us a very pretty pastel sunset. We still had a cloudy evening sky but there were enough gaps for some stars and the moon to be seen. The maximum temperature was 21.9°C and the minimum 13.2°C.
