Good morning from Roda. I could say that this is getting monotonous with seemingly never-ending supply of sunny days. The 10-day forecast is for the sunshine to continue with the temperature in the mid-teens but feeling much more in the sun due to that high UV. So, this morning I awoke to a clear sky with more of a haze blurring the features of Albania. The sea had become noisy during the night and we have white capped waves coming ashore.
The temperature at 10am on Wednesday 24th February was 10.8°C. Real feel 11°C.
The reported UV for Today is 4(Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday was cloudless and sunny all day, with my balconies having the extremes of the weather. The front north facing balcony was really chilly and soon sent you back inside, whereas the south facing balcony baking in the heat of the sun soon sent you back inside! A no-win situation, but I did live outside yesterday for the most part, finishing it off with a lovely walk to Acharavi and back. As there were no clouds the sunset was monochromatic with the sky turning burnt orange, enhanced by the dark silhouettes of palm trees and the buildings. There was less of the pink flush, but still very pretty. The evening sky on my late-night check was a starry affair, with the temperature just in double figures at 10.5°C
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 14.5°C real feel 15°C and the minimum was 6.6°C.
This day last year was a clear sunny day with some thin clouds by sunset and a stary night. The maximum temperature was 15.7°C and the minimum was 6.2°C.
TEMPERATURE EXTREMES 2020 The maximum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was 31.0°C on 1st. August. The minimum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was -1.4°C. 8th. January.

Good morning from Roda. After a milder night I awoke to clear cloudless skies with quite a significant haze masking our view of Albania and our mountains. The pale blue sea has lesser waves than the previous two days, we still have a gentle breeze just about stirring the trees.
The temperature at 10am on Thursday 25th February was 11.7°C. Real feel 12°C.
The reported UV for Today is 4(Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday was another lovely day. We had clear skies all day with a persistent haze that veiled the mainland. I had a walk round the village in the afternoon and caught up with some friends before going to pick up my new car. OK she isn’t new but it will be so good to be mobile again. There was a chill breeze that just took the edge of the sun that made me glad to be getting away from the beach. It was warmer in the lane leading to the church as I caught up with the village news with Niki from the Dolphin. Nikos was enjoying the late afternoon sun from the shelter of the house. I watched the sun go to bed in a blaze of orange, just as a high altitude plane was leaving its trail across the sky. We had a cool night with the waves still quite noisy as the waves came ashore. It was a starry sky when I went to check at 10.30 with the temperature 10.8°C.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 15.1°C real feel 15°C and the minimum was 7.0°C.
This day last year was very hazy with Albania just visible. There were thin high clouds and a brisk wind, easing to give a lovely sunset and a star strewn night. The maximum temperature was 18.0°C and the minimum was 7.1°C.

I awoke to another clear skied cloudless day with quite a significant haze trying to hide the mainland. The sea is a pretty shade of blue and quite calm, and the wind is gentle. Kitchen door flung open at 8am to let the heat of the sun in, and breakfast on the balcony. Am getting into a pleasant little habit of enjoying my breakfast whilst puzzling over the crossword. Going to enjoy this lovely weather whilst I can as we do have wet stuff, aka rain, looming on my 10 day forecast.
The temperature at 10am on Friday 26th February was 12.0°C. Real feel 12°C.
The reported UV for Today is 4(Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday was just lovely all day with endless sunshine, so hot on my sheltered balcony. The first excursion of the year for my flip-flops and my bikini (not for public viewing), for a while in the afternoon. It is actually quite difficult for me to motivate myself to do housework when it is so nice outside. We did get a collection of thin clouds attempting to take over the southern skies in the mid-afternoon, but they were soon sent to routs by the sun, except for a few persistent ones to the west that made for a fuzzy sunset. I enjoyed a lovely walk around the village and pumped into a few friends to have a catch up with. The sea in front of the village was almost flat calm, but round by the Coral there were bigger waves. The water level was quite low exposing the beach by The Boathouse that Jon Banos has always wanted. The almost full moon started rising in the afternoon and lit up the starry night sky. My late evening check, later than usual as it was warm enough in the kitchen to do Jay’s Virtual Quiz, was brightened by the clear call of a Scops owl. The temperature was 8.1°C.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 16.3°C real feel 16°C and the minimum was 8.1°C.
This day last year was windy with a bright start, soon becoming very cloudy with a short shower around mid-day. The maximum temperature was 18.0°C and the minimum was 13.5°C.

And so, this amazing weather continues, so I woke to clear blue skies but the haze has deepened so that the mainland is just an outline. The sea was the palest blue with a narrow band of deep blue just in front of Albania. Looking to the south the haze was more obvious, but it isn’t stopping the heat of the sun reaching us. More ritual of breakfast, a cup of tea and the joy of finishing of a three- star difficulty telegraph cross word (it doesn’t happen that often). We must enjoy being in almost summer clothes as there is definitely more of the rain due in about six days.
The temperature at 10am on Saturday 27th February was 11.5°C. Real feel 12°C.
The reported UV for Today is 4(Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday was just a perfect day hot when in the sun, and still cool in the shade which is why I am avoiding the shade of the north balcony. In fact, it was almost too hot for my walk up to the cemetery. It was just starting to cool a little by the time I got down to the beach front. The sea was really flat calm in the bay with just very small breaking waves further round by the Coral Hotel. Jon Banos’s beach is still there, and I took a pic of my apartment block basking in the sun with its hilly backdrop. When the trees are in leaf you can’t see it so clearly. The tree next to the us has just started showing its leaves. Once the sun goes down it gets cold quickly, but it was still just warm enough for me to watch the sun go down in a completely cloudless sky, whilst clutching a hand-warmer cup of coffee. The night sky was a picture with a beautiful full moon and lots of stars. It was a milder 11.5°C at my 10pm check.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 16.0°C real feel 16°C and the minimum was 8.4°C.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) was windy with strong gusts, there was also a thunderstorm. The maximum temperature was 13.8°C and the minimum was 11.5°C.

The morning started off with a good covering of clouds, but still with plenty of room for the sun to shine. The sun burnt them off for a while. There are certainly more clouds to the south of us, with plenty of murk coming down the mountain sides. It won’t be very nice up in the mountain villages. The sea was lovely and calm, with a gentle wind ruffling the surface of the sea. The wind however, has strengthened as the morning as advanced. There is certainly a battle going on between the sun and the clouds. It does feel cool when the clouds win and I have had to resort to wearing a cardigan!
The temperature at 10am on Sunday 28th February was 12.4°C. Real feel 13°C.
The reported UV for Today is 4(Range 1- 11+).
Views from both sides of the apartment.
Yesterday the day started off as it had for the previous days with clear skies, gentle winds and almost total haze blocking the views of the mainland and our mountains However, it started getting very cloudy in the late afternoon almost covering the sky by sunset giving a very unimpressive sunset. Well it was from my balcony, as I sat and watched for something to photograph. The afternoon breeze got up and made things feel a little cooler, but I’m really picking hairs as it really was a lovely temperature until that cloud took over. I am already getting a tan just from spending as much time as I can outside. I managed my 10K steps yesterday by doing two walks around the village. I took a few photos as the flowers are so pretty now. The evening was still cloudy with the full moon struggling to be seen, but the skies had cleared significantly by late evening to allow the moon and quite a few stars to shine. It was a mild 12.5°C at around 10.30pm.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 15.3°C real feel 16°C and the minimum was 7.8°C.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) was very windy with plenty of rain varying from drizzle to heavy downpours. The maximum temperature was 13.3°C and the minimum was 8.4°C.

Good morning from Roda. It was a very mild night with the lowest overnight temperature an almost balmy 12°C! I opened the curtains to a completely cloudy sky with Albania missing on the horizon. The sea further out seems calm but we have white capped waves breaking in front of Nino’s. Our mountains are fairly obscure and the wind is calm.
The temperature at 10am on Monday 1st March was 13.9°C. Real feel 14°C.
The reported UV for Today is 4(Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday wasn’t quite the day that was forecast. There was a lot more cloud a round and the deep haze never went with the mainland absent all day and the tops of our mountain tops hidden underneath the murk. The sun did shine for quite some periods of time but the chilly wind took the edge of the sun’s heat. The haze turned the dying sun lemon until it went more standard orange as it did its final head towards bed. The early evening had a decent amount of stars but by the time of my late night check the full moon was playing peek-a-boo with the plethora of tiny clouds. The moon was so clear you see the craters. The star did make their presence felt.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 15.5°C real feel 16°C and the minimum was 9.2°C.
Last night's sunset seen through Steve's freesias.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) was very windy at times during the day. Sunny in morning but cloudy by the evening with the maximum temperature 13.3°C and the minimum was 8.4°C.

It was a lovely dawn, all pastel blue and pink tinged clouds. It wasn’t enough to keep me out of my bed and my wake-up cup of tea. When I did emerge, we still had quite a few clouds around and a chill wind. I still managed my breakfast out on the balcony, but was grateful for my dressing gown. The north sky barely had a cloud in it and Albania was just discernible in the haze. The sea was that amazing mix of blues and greens with white topped waves adding to general beauty. The only thing spoiling the day is that chilly breeze, but it will dry my washing nicely.
The temperature at 10am on Tuesday 2nd. March was 13.9°C. Real feel 14°C.
The reported UV for Today is 4 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday was a mixed bag with plenty of sunshine but also some cloudy spells. The wind felt chilly as my friend and I walked along the beach road to Acharavi for my first frappe of the year! The clouds melted away completely by the time the sun was due to sink below the horizon, and the haze eased so that the mainland emerged from the haze. Due to the complete lack of cloud and the haze the sunset was very low key, a non- event. The evening felt milder and had a mix of clouds and clear patches. There was a slightly squashed appearance of the almost full moon with a scattering of stars visible. It was still 12.2°C at 10.30pm.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 15.6°C real feel 16°C and the minimum was 11.8°C.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) was very windy and a day of sunshine and clouds. The maximum temperature 19.0°C and the minimum was 14.1°C.

Good afternoon from Roda. It was a changed world when I surfaced this morning as the haze had just about completely cleared giving us lovely views of the mainland. There was still some snow to be seen on the highest peaks. The sea was a beautiful blue with big ripples heading our way, and the sky was completely clear. The early morning wind had a chill to it, but breakfast in the sun on the balcony was getting a bit too hot with the shade temperature barely into double figures but in full sun it was approaching 37°C.
The temperature at 10am on Wednesday 3rd March was 10.8°C. Real feel 11°C.
The reported UV for Today is 4 (Range 1- 11+).

Yesterday was a lovely sunny day feeling very warm in that sun once it had got into its stride. Early morning and late afternoon did have a chill feel to them. We barely saw anything approaching a cloud for most of the day. The sea was very calm, especially in front of the Aphrodite Hotel, but further round towards the harbour the ripples had turned into tiny waves. A few clouds did gather towards the end of the afternoon over the mainland but not sufficient or in the right place to do anything for the sunset which was definitely a non-event. The evening was mild and starlit and still 11.5°C at 10pm.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 15.3°C real feel 15°C and the minimum was 8.8°C.
One photo is a standard one of the beach yesterday, the other one is one you don’t see in the summer, a babbling brook under shady trees between the pharmacy and the Melinda apartments.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) was very windy and a day of sunshine and clouds. The maximum temperature 19.0°C and the minimum was 14.1°C.

Good morning from Roda. I should have apologised for the late report yesterday but I had a shopping date and the time had run away with me in the morning as I was trying to get all the bedding washed and, on the line, to dry before the poor weather comes in later on in the week. Three washes done out and dried, so well satisfied. It is also lovely to see old friends appearing in the members visiting the site. Back to the weather. I opened my curtains first thing to a very heavy dew, I was even debating if there had been a frost, but the temperature was a bit too high. When my eyes fully opened after the essential cup of tea, I saw that we had a lovely day with cloudless blue skies and only a touch of haze. The mainland mountains still with a touch of snow on the top peaks looked magnificent in the morning light. The sea was a lovely shade of blue and very calm looking and pretty quiet. It looked very hazy towards our mountains but most of that was from the bonfires. There is a lot of clearing of the land going on at the moment. Breakfast was enjoyed in the heat of the morning sun. Still too chilly to do more than have a quick visit to the front shady balcony.
The temperature at 10am on Thursday 4th March was 10.5°C. Real feel 11°C.
The reported UV for Today is 5 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday was a perfect day all day with the sun so hot on my south balcony, again reaching 40°C when I was having my lunch out there. In fact, it was so hot it drove me inside for a while to make the bed with the bedding I had just dried on the line. I love that fresh air smell. I failed to feel the 6.0 Richter earthquake that caused a lot of damage on the mainland north of Athens. My downstairs neighbour certainly felt it but she was seated but I was moving around. I went for a good walk in the afternoon to Acharavi and back clocking up 7300 steps. Walking along the seafront is always beautiful and constantly changing, never the same for long. Trying to keep walking to help my back and I feel that it’s helpful to try and do something to keep moving. I got back, walking into a very low sun all the way from the Navigator restaurant, just in time to settle down with a cup of coffee and watch the sunset. I have no explanation why it was stunning last night despite the day being almost identical to the previous ones that gave us poor ones. But the sky turned a brilliant burnt orange shade contrasting with the dark almost black shades of the trees and buildings. The evening felt cold with a clear sky with so many stars on display. It was 9.8°C at 10pm.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 14.8°C real feel 15°C and the minimum was 6.2°C.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) was very cloudy with a couple of showers in the morning. The afternoon saw some break-up of the clouds which persisted into the evening. The maximum temperature 15.4°C and the minimum was 10.2°C.

The photo’s I am posting don’t tell the full story, if anything they are being untruthful. It looks lovely but there are overhead clouds that hide the sun and there is a chilly wind that just makes sitting outside no where near as pleasant as it should be. The sea though is lovely and blue in front of a hazy view of the mainland. As the morning advances the clouds are getting more numerous. Another day for staying in and sorting all the stuff I took out of Steve’s third cabinet! I must get out for a walk as I didn’t leave the house yesterday!
The temperature at 10am on Friday 5th March was 12.0°C. Real feel 12°C.
The reported UV for Today is 5 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday was yet another lovely day with constant sunshine, so breakfast, lunch and all my coffee breaks taken on the balcony. I even remembered to water those plants looking the worse for wear. I still have some to do but they are nearly all cactuses. It felt mild enough even on the shaded balcony to spend most of the day out there tackling Steve’s cabinet. We got clouds gathering on the edges of the sky, never overhead so not interfering with the sun. The breeze remained kind and the sea calm. There were a few streaky clouds around at sunset trying to add some interest but mostly failing. The night sky appeared clear with plenty of stars up there. It did feel cold with the 10.3°C late evening temperature.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 14.5°C real feel 15°C and the minimum was 5.3°C.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) saw lots of grey clouds with a gusty chill wind negating any warmth in the sun. The clouds gradually went during the day until there was a clear sky at sunset . The maximum temperature 15.4°C and the minimum was 10.2°C.

Good morning from Roda. We must have had some rain during the night, but I don’t think it can have been much as my first thought was that we didn’t have any. It was only when I was going to have a look at the freesias that I noticed the raindrops on them. It was a very mild night for the time of year with the temperature falling to just shy of 12°C. At my first look out it was mostly grey cloudy skies but later when I got up properly, we had blue patches appearing, giving some nice sunny spells, though clouds starting to gather again. It is mild though, warm enough to eat breakfast standing up on the balcony. Took a photo through my kitchen door, the view I never get tired of.
The temperature at 10am on Saturday 6th March was 12.6°C. Real feel 13°C.
The reported UV for Today is 5 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday the early morning sunshine lost its battle with the gathering clouds. The bit of a breeze just added to the feeling of cold even though it was quite mild, but you do miss the heat of the sun at this time of year. The haze failed to clear so Albania became just a shape on the horizon. That breeze did die away completely and the sea became flat calm, looking like liquid silver. By late afternoon we had 100% cloud cover. During the evening the wind came back and cleared some of the clouds away to allow some stars to be seen. It was a mildish 12°C at 10pm.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 15.6°C real feel 15°C and the minimum was 8.0°C.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) was mostly cloudy with the occasional sunny spell. Very gusty winds increasing in strength, rain and showers from 4.30pm. The maximum temperature 14.6°C and the minimum was 9.5°C.

It was a glorious start to the morning with clear cloudless blue skies, a deep blue sea, but a haze trying to hide the mainland. The sea looks ruffled and we are getting noisy waves coming ashore. There is a breeze, but it is so hot out of it. Thoroughly enjoyed a lazy breakfast with the crossword on the back balcony. There are some clouds daring to creep over the horizons, but they’re not affecting the constant sunshine!
The temperature at 10am on Sunday 7th March was 11.2°C. Real feel 11°C.
The reported UV for Today is 5 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday was a mostly sunny day after that very early morning shower. I had a lovely walk around the village in the morning to get my veggies from George at the fruit and veg shop. It did start to cloud over in the afternoon, but not after I got my lunch out in the sunshine. It was quite cloudy when I went for my afternoon exercise walk around the village. It was warm enough to be in just t-shirt and jeans. Walking along the sea front I could see lots of sun on the mainland and even Almyros, but by the time I got home it was shining on us as well. The clouds eased during the evening to allow some stars to shine. It was 12°C at 10pm feeling cold though.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 14.8°C real feel 15°C and the minimum was 11.5°C.
The high pressure at the moment is creating low water and a lovely beach from Nino’s towards the Boathouse.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) started off with blue skies and fluffy clouds but a chill wind. Dark clouds gathered to east and over mainland heavy pea-sized hailstorm late afternoon. The evening saw the clouds easing. The maximum temperature 14.6°C and the minimum was 9.5°C.

The 10am photo is telling lies, it isn’t as lovely as it shows. We have abundant thin cloud with some more specific cloud forms but not doing more than slightly filtering the sunlight. It was pleasant enough eating breakfast on the balcony exercising my brain with the Sunday Telegraph crossword. I must admit I had to resort to electronic help to finish it. The haze was almost completely hiding the mainland across the ruffled but lovely blue calm sea. No lovely sounds of waves coming ashore this morning. I ventured outside again for my coffee break from emptying out my pan cupboard, and it was still pleasant until a malevolent gusty wind attempted to blow my crossword into the next field!
The temperature at 10am on Monday 8th March was 12.0°C. Real feel 12°C.
The reported UV for Today is 5 (Range 1- 11+).
The tree next to us is fast getting a green tone with the burgeoning leaves. Photo taken through the blooms of Steve’s freesias.
Yesterday was mostly a lovely sunny day with almost constant sunshine, feeling very warm if you found a bit of shelter from the slightly cool breeze. We did get some gathering of clouds in the mid-afternoon, but they were soon seen off and we had clear skies for the non-event of a sunset. Don’t be misled about that cool breeze, it was still plenty warm enough to go for a late afternoon walk to Acharavi and back in just t-shirt and jeans. The evening sky was mostly clear with a goodly number of stars, but feeling cold standing on the balcony for my check. The temperature was 10.5°C at 10.30pm.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 15.0°C real feel 15°C and the minimum was 8.0°C.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) was to quote him ‘a wash out’ there was almost constant rain, extremely heavy at times with a thunder storm mixed in and gusting winds. There were rare glimpses of the sun giving stunning contrasts against the dark clouds. The maximum temperature 14.6°C and the minimum was 9.5°C.

I was hoping to have this report done sooner, but the internet has been playing up. Anyway, I awoke to clear blue skies and my weather monitor telling me it was raining! Not here anyway. There was quite a degree of haze such that the mainland was far from clear across the blue very calm sea. Earlier there had been a few small white fishing boats dotted about the channel gathering their overnight nets. There is just a hint of a breeze so I think hanging my rugs over the balcony is quite a safe thing to do. Breakfast was enjoyed on the balcony again as I finished off yesterday’s crossword. One load of washing in and the car filled with re-cycling and the rubbish. I have managed to clear most of the stuff from Steve’s two outside cabinets and they in turn have gone off to be recycled. I have all this space now! Just been out to hang my washing out and got captivated by a pair of buzzards circling towards the mountains calling to each other.
The temperature at 10am on Tuesday 9th March was 11.7°C. Real feel 12°C.
The reported UV for Today is 5 (Range 1- 11+).
So many more leaves since yesterday!
Yesterday started off well with a mostly clear sky with a scattering of clouds. The clouds bred though and by late morning they were definitely winning, maybe helped by quite a breeze. Those clouds turned dark and menacing and we had a short sharp shower of rain after 1 o’clock. About an hour later the clouds thinned a bit and we got a glimpse of the sun. But really the afternoon was mostly cloudy with a few spits and spots late on. I needed a jacket for my afternoon walk, as you can see from the first photo it was very grey. It did end the day with a pretty pastel sunset, if hazy, with a nice orange glow to the west and pink and grey tones covering the sea and the mainland.
