Good morning from Roda. When I first opened the kitchen door this morning while the kettle boiled, I could see that we had just had a very light dampening shower. I took my tea back to bed and when I properly got up it was raining steadily. It did dry up for a while and even started to look a bit brighter with the mainland emerging from the murk, visible only by the line on the sea where the land began. Now the rain has started again and we have thunder. The internet is going off and on at random, and when I was on the front balcony, I could hear the electricity cables fizzing in the damp atmosphere. The temperature isn’t that low but you do miss the heat from the sun on these cloudy days.
The temperature at 10am on Wednesday 10th March was 13.1°C. Real feel 12°C.
The reported UV for Today is 2 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday was just a lovely day. Clear blue skies and constant sunshine for the most part. We did see some small fluffy clouds with some streaks, but they didn’t get in the way of that sunshine. I had a lovely walk up to the cemetery marvelling at the wildflowers everywhere. There wasn’t a breath of wind and the sea barely had a ripple on it as I walked back along the sea front. There were insufficient clouds to do anything of the non-event sunset. The late evening check showed that we must have some clouds as there were very few stars showing. There was still no wind, and the temperature was still in double figures at 11.2°C
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 15.1°C real feel 15°C and the minimum was 7.7°C.
This day last year (thanks to Dave). Yesterday it took a while for the sun to break through and as it did so the wind also slowly picked up though it was never strong nor gusting as off late. By late morning the sky was almost clear though in early afternoon more high thin clouds started to appear and then vanish as it got nearer to sunset. The wind also dropped at that time and it was most pleasant in that final hour of daylight; I was out forking over my vegetable plots as the surface is drying out rapidly with these winds. It was a lovely starlit night; the moon doesn't appear in sight to me before I go to bed as it rises very late from behind my house. I just get to see it when I wake up in the morning.
The maximum temperature was 16.3c and the minimum was 10.6c.
TEMPERATURE EXTREMES 2020 The maximum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was 31.0°C on 1st. August. The minimum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was -1.4°C. 8th. January.

Good morning from Roda. I was awake early and threw open the curtains to watch the pink tinged clouds of dawn hovering over the mainland. The wild winds and raging sea were still with us, it felt chilly when I went out to takes my photos, mind you I was only wearing my nightie. Chilly it might well be but the view is amazing today with wind tossed palm trees and eucalyptuses, in front of a deep blue and green raging foam topped sea. Albania is not as clear as it can be, however, I can see that there has been a light covering of snow on the higher peaks. The wind is easing as the morning ages, so it is now possible for me to go out and enjoy my coffee on the balcony once I have posted this report. Breakfast had been eaten in front of my gas fire! Mind you, I think Steve would have had us out there wrapped up on the balcony. The sky has stayed a pretty shade of blue with artistically positioned clouds.
The temperature at 10am on Thursday 11th March was 11.1°C. Real feel 9°C.
The reported UV for Today is 5 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday morning was a complete wash out with almost constant rain, sometimes it was very heavy. Then towards mid-day we got thunder and lightning just to add to everything. It had dried up by a couple of hours later but remained mostly cloudy for the rest of the afternoon with only a few glimpses of the sun or brighter periods. The clouds and murk were up and down the mountains like a yo-yo. It must have been dark and miserably foggy in the mountain villages. The wind steadily increased during the afternoon to become quite strong by the evening, whipping up the waves into a very noisy frenzy. My late evening check showed that some of the clouds had gone leaving room for a handful of stars to shine. It was lovely to hear the frog chorus and the Scops owl filling the evening with their calls. It was a mild 12.4°C but feeling much cooler in that wind.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 14.0°C real feel 14°C and the minimum was 10.1°C.
This day last year (thanks to Dave).Yesterday we had a nice sunny morning with a breeze giving us that chill if not sheltered but it was perfect for working in garden in just a polo top. In the early afternoon a chill wind picked up and small white-tops appeared out to sea. Lots of individual light grey or white fluffy clouds were passing from the West and we often had sunless intervals when it felt really chilly. By 4pm the clouds had finally all passed and we had a sunny end to the day aided by a drop in the wind. As the sun set so we first saw some pink high thin wispy clouds to the West and NW; as the sun went lower there was a lovely deep orange tinted sky with purple and pink sky across the whole NW, N and Western vista. It was a real sight and a promise of better weather for today. It was a starlit night though not perfect as initially there were the high thin wispy clouds passing and shielding the stars in places.
The maximum temperature was 16.6c and the minimum was 7.8c.

I am going to have to stop this waking up so early, but the up-side is that I got to see the very pretty dawn. There were long streaks of pink clouds against a pale blue sky. The clouds looked exactly like those at sunset last night that I took photos of. The sea was the palest blue and flat calm. That was enough for me, so I took my tea back to bed as it was a bit chilly in the early morning air. When I eventually emerged, there were more clouds forming and the sea wasn’t quite as calm. We had enough of a haze attempting to veil the mainland. The strong winds of last night had reduced to just a gentle breeze.
The temperature at 10am on Friday 12th March was 11.7°C. Real feel 12°C.
The reported UV for Today is 5 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday was very windy all day, but it did diminish in strength during the day but was still fierce by the evening. We barely had any clouds all day so it was very pleasant on my balcony as long as I stayed away from the top of the stairs. There the wind was almost strong enough to blow me over the railings! OK slight exaggeration, but so strong and feeling very cold. We had a gathering of long more solid clouds around sunset as well as some thin high cloud. We did get a very nice pastel sunset. There must have been more clouds around when I did my late-night check as there weren’t that many stars. It was feeling cold in that strong wind, cooler than the 11.2°C on my sensor.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 13.1°C real feel 13°C and the minimum was 10.8°C.
This day last year (thanks to Dave). Yesterday was just a day of wall to wall sunshine; just the odd vapour trail from a passing plane. Mind afternoon the gentle breeze stiffened a bit but it had no chill like earlier in the week. It was very pleasant doing my stint at recycling and in the garden when I got home. The sunset wasn't anywhere near as good to see as the previous day; the sky was just a bit creamy orange. It was a perfect starlit night with the moon rising into sight too late for me to see but its there high in West this morning.
The maximum temperature was 20.3c and the minimum was 8.7c.

It was a much warmer night with the temperature just about staying in double figures. I opened the curtains to a still hazy view of the mainland across a slightly ruffled sea that was a collection of all shades of pale jade. It has now taken on its usual hues of blue. We have a gusty wind from the south-east, a sky that is a pretty mix of blue sky and clouds and there is plenty of warm sunshine (if you get some shelter from that wind). Breakfast with my crossword was enjoyed on the balcony. Funnily enough it was almost as pleasant on the north balcony as it was sheltered from that gusty wind. The temperature at 10am on Saturday 13th March was 13.9°C. Real feel 14°C.
The reported UV for Today is 4 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday started off with just a few pretty streaks of cloud, but they steadily built up during the day decreasing the sunny spells, but we still had plenty of sunshine though. There was almost no breeze, even along the sea front, and the sea was practically flat calm. As I took my afternoon walk to Acharavi I was wondering if I should have put on a jacket over my cardigan as there was no sign of the sun over me, it was everywhere except over me! But I did warm up so by the time I was coming down road 5 on my way back the cardy was open. It got cloudy again as I neared Roda and I took that first brooding photo. By the time I had got in and settle down to a cup of coffee the sun was out again and the low angle produces such a lovely light over the tree covered hillsides behind me. I just had to take a pic. It had got cloudy again by the time of the sunset, which was truly unique. The bobbled underside of the sheet of clouds flushed pink against the dark grey of the rest of the cloud base. Then, in a gap under the clouds we had a blaze of almost pure white light tinged with yellow at the edges. The narrow band contrasted so strongly against the rest of the sky. Then in a blink it was gone. By the time of my late evening check most of the clouds had dispersed leaving plenty of space for stars to shine. It was a fairly mild 12°C at 10pm.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 14.5°C real feel 15°C and the minimum was 6.0°C.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) was very similar to the previous day right down to the temperature. We did however have a light wind in the afternoon and a few high white clouds around. There was also a sea mist towards the Northern coast of Albania. The sun was out all day and it was again perfect for walking, gardening and outside jobs; I chose to paint my bathroom ceiling as the nice weather outside enabled it to dry nice and quickly. The sunset was rather plain compared to the previous night, just a creamy band with tint of orange. The starlit night on the other hand was amazing.
The maximum temperature was 20.3c and the minimum was 10.5c.

The internal alarm clock got me up before my body really wanted too. But I wandered through the apartment and opened the curtains to a very pretty tail end of the dawn, all pink tinged clouds hovering in a pastel blue sky. Having observed the never boring vista I took myself back to bed with my cup of tea and a catch up with the news on-line. Eventually guilt got me moving and we had a bit of a build up of clouds especially to the south. Clouds persistently got in the way of the sun’s rays. To the north we still have clear skies and the temptation to put in a load of washing, that is until you look to the south where the clouds are. I know that rain is forecast so I’m not risking it, I’ll just enjoy sitting out in the sun for as long as I can. We still have considerable haze trying to hide the mainland, the sea is still calm and there is almost no wind. Breakfast was taken on the balcony alternating between being baked and cooled!
The temperature at 10am on Sunday 14th March was 12.9°C. Real feel 13°C.
The reported UV for Today is 5 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday we had quite a lot of less than sunny spells with the clouds steadily increasing from the lovely start of the day. It, in fact got very cloudy in the afternoon, though not without some periods of sunshine. I regrated taking my thick gilet for my afternoon walk around the village. The gusty south easterly wind had died away completely by mid-afternoon. The sea became so calm at flat, as I watched one of the small village fishing boats lay its nets in front of Roda Beach Hotel. As that afternoon wore on the clouds started melting away, just leaving a few artfully placed to add interest to the sunset. I got back in time to sit with my coffee and watch the sun go down. It was warm enough in just a top and jeans even though I was in the shade by then. The sunset turned out to be pretty but fairly unspectacular. The night sky was still very clear at my late night check with plenty of stars. It was still 12°C at 10.30pm so quite mild.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 16.5°C real feel 17°C and the minimum was 10.3°C.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) was again a sunny day but at times the sun was reduced by the thin layer of clouds. A light wind picked up late morning and was about for a couple of hours. The sun shone brightly at times but as the afternoon progressed so the amount of sun reduced as the cloud thickened; at best we had hazy sun but there was another brighter spell after 5pm. There was a big dark bank of cloud evident on the distant horizon. There was no sunset; and just a partial starlit sky as the clouds began to roll in.
The maximum temperature was 18.5c and the minimum was 11.8c.

Well Corfu and the weather forecasters have disagreed again. It was supposed to be a day of rain and strong winds, well maybe later on but the day started off quite pleasant with a 50/50 mix of clouds and blue skies. It is quite blustery but not exactly the strong winds we were promised. There had been overnight rain, but if were a late riser you wouldn’t have known as the evidence dried up quite quickly. I had breakfast on the balcony alternating between being a shade cold to being a bit warm as the sun played peek-a -boo with the clouds. We have a white flecked sea all the way across the channel in front of the hazy mainland. As I am writing this it is getting cloudier so am worried that the rain will soon be here and spoil my walk down to the beach to see the kite flying for Clean Monday (καθαρά Δευτέρα). Permission has been giving for kite flying as long as masks and social distances are observed. Clean Monday is the start of lent when the larder must be ‘cleaned’ of all meat, fish and dairy products.
The temperature at 10am on Monday 15th March was 11.5°C. Real feel 12°C.
The reported UV for Today is 5 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday was a mostly very nice and sunny day, quite breezy in the morning, but it gradually decreased until it was gone by late afternoon. We did get a gathering of clouds just in time for me to sit out with my lunch! But they saw sense and started to melt away, so my gilet I was a tad cold in at the start of my walk ended up being carried for the last lap along the sea front. Walking over the carpark bridge I thought I could here sheep at Danny’s farm. It wasn’t sheep it was a pair of rather large nanny goats. I had seen a flock of them amongst the bamboo on the other side of the stream running alongside the road to Sfakera. There were a lot of kids as well as adults, but I couldn’t get a photo as they were well hidden in the bamboo. Sunset came with a bit of a whimper to the east but with stunning pink-shaded clouds elsewhere in the sky. There were still some clouds around at my late-night check, but there were plenty of stars shining up there and it was quite mild at 14.3°C
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 17.2°C real feel 17°C and the minimum was 9.5°C.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) was a windy day, some still spells but mostly windy with gusts up to F5. The day was one of sunny intervals as there were always passing clouds, big fluffy grey; some in high thin layers or bands and some of the sun less spells lasted for over 90 minutes at a time especially in the late morning and early afternoon when it was 100% cloud cover. One time the wind did ease was in the hour before sunset and by then the clouds had thinned a lot as well; we therefore had a bright yellow sunset though there was no coloured sky to speak off after the sun had gone. It was a partial starlit night; the moon rising late is more evident here after midnight so not usually seen until the morning unless you are out and about late.
The maximum temperature was 17.7c and the minimum was 12.5c.
TEMPERATURE EXTREMES 2020 The maximum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was 31.0°C on 1st. August. The minimum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was -1.4°C. 8th. January.

Good morning from Roda, and oh what a morning. The overnight driving rain had gone leaving the wind, but it had died down somewhat, though still quite strong and very chilly if you stand in it. The air had cleared to reveal fresh snow on the alpine peaks opposite across a still rough sea which is now gaining white topped waves. The picture is changing all the time so I am putting three pics on. It may be cold in that wind but on my sheltered balcony I enjoyed my breakfast and a pathetic attempt at the crossword. The clouds are clearing over us all the time, so my bed was stripped and the first load is just about finished. I need sunshine today as my water heating at the moment is solar and we didn’t get a huge amount of sun yesterday.
The temperature at 10am on Tuesday 16th March was 10.7°C. Real feel 10°C.
The reported UV for Today is 5 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday was a day of several parts. Apparently, I slept through an early morning thunder storm accompanied by heavy rain. The morning though was very breezy with plenty of blue sky and fluffy white clouds, though thickening clouds were gathering around mid-day, so I put my thick coat and went in search of kite flyers. It was bracing to say the least so I watched Floyd and George for a few minutes and headed home to get warm. How George could be wearing shorts was beyond me. The forecast rain finally arrived in the early afternoon with a heavy dose of hail followed by slanting rain. The direction of the weather was from the west mostly with both balconies getting the rain, which doesn’t happen very often. The afternoon stayed one of intermittent showers and continuous strong winds. The evening stayed windy and mostly dry but completely cloudy with the late evening temperature 9.8°C.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 13.2°C real feel 13°C and the minimum was 9.7°C which was in mid-afternoon!
This day last year (thanks to Dave) the wind picked up to a F4-5 in gusts but was nearly always there giving a chill feel. The clouds however came and dispersed giving us a full day of sunshine. Small whitetops were evident and there seemed to be more ships about; I saw 3 tankers near to coast as well as 2 ferries. Maybe I just looked to sea at the right times!!! We had a bright yellow sunset with a creamy sky after followed by a starlit night.
The maximum temperature was 19.2c and the minimum was 12.0c
TEMPERATURE EXTREMES 2020 The maximum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was 31.0°C on 1st. August. The minimum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was -1.4°C. 8th. January.

Good morning from Roda. It was a lovely start to the morning with sunshine highlighting the snow-topped peaks over the channel. The green/blue sea was rough topped with white crested waves. It had been less windy during the night, but there is still a very cold breeze this morning. I had breakfast on the balcony, but when I stood at the top of the stairs it was freezing. There are more clouds around than yesterday at the moment with some very threatening ones on both sides of the channel, as can be seen by one of the photos. They were both taken from the same spot on my balcony but at different angles, such is the weather here!
The temperature at 10am on Wednesday 17th March was 11.8°C. Real feel 12°C.
The reported UV for Today is 5 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday was just lovely all day with almost constant sunshine, but with plenty of pretty white clouds decorating the sun, most of them having the sense to stay away from the sun. The views of the snow-capped mountains, the stunning colour of the sea and the deep blue of the sky just made you stop and stare so many times during the day. Mind you, you had to be wrapped up well, as out of any shelter the persistent wind was bracing. There were enough clouds around to give a very pretty sunset with a golden glow to the west and pink tinged clouds elsewhere. The clouds won in the end and the sky was completely covered by the time I did my usual check at 10pm. It was a mild 12°C out of the wind, take several degrees off that if exposed to the wind.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 12.6°C real feel 13°C and the minimum was 10.1°C.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) a light wind came mid morning and the clouds dispersed though there was the odd passing one during the day. Whitetops appeared at sea as the wind was gusting and chilly too but the sun was always out. I walked to Roda for shops and it wa sfairly quiet.....there was a queuing system outside the pharmacy (only 2 allowed in shop at same time). Several people are now wearing masks and rubber gloves which looks most odd and seems a bit ott. The wind eased after 4pm and was almost gone by 6pm; we had a yellow sunset which was quickly followed by a lovely starlit night. Mind you as soon as the sun goes from view so the temperature drops rather quickly.
The maximum was 18.3c the minimum was 7.9c.

It was a cold night and I awoke to another very pretty sight. We had lovely blue sky with some fluffy white clouds decorating it. There were coverings of fresh snow on the mountains opposite showing blinding white against the blue sky. The sea had calmed a lot but we still had some long low waves coming in, but it looks very calm further out. The blue skies didn’t last and by the time I was moving around the clouds had grown and were starting to make serious inroads into the sky, and by 10 o’clock had almost won. The sun is fitting hard and we have some sunshine and blue patches now by 11 o’clock. The strong winds of yesterday have gone, leaving just a gentle breeze in its place. Coffee will be taken on the balcony if this sunshine persists, but it is feeling cool with the temperature now just into double figures. The temperature at 10am on Thursday 18th March was 9.8°C. Real feel 10°C.
The reported UV for Today is 6 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday was a very windy day, varying from very breezy to gale force. It just felt cold all day and the sun didn’t seem to make much of a difference. First thing was lovely if you managed to get out off that wind, but the clouds soon came and covered the sky and we lost any residual heat from the sun. We did have a spot or two of rain when I was out shopping in Acaharvi, but it didn’t come to anything. We did get a break or two in the clouds in the afternoon to give us some sun. When I was out for my late afternoon walk it looked like everywhere had sunshine but not Roda! The sun did eventually escape the cloud that had been hiding it. The wind was so strong I had to lean into it coming down the main street. The seas were very rough, with debris thrown up along the beach road from Nino’s towards Acharavi with some in front of the Coral Hotel. The clouds did clear enough to give a rather dramatic sunset, starting with the clouds appearing to be lit from inside them, then later a golden band under deep grey clouds. The late evening check showed we still had a fair amount of cloud but there were a few stars, but it felt cold.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 11.8°C real feel 11°C and the minimum was 6.8°C.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) was a lovely sunny day with a light wind that had a chill to it. If you were working outside or sat in shelter of wind then it was a perfect day. During the afternoon Albania slowly disappeared behind a blanket of sea fog and a few small white tops also appeared as the wind picked up a bit. The sunset was again bright yellow but nothing special to look at nor colours in the sky once the sun had gone from view. We again had a wonderful starlit night.
The maximum temperature was 19.3c and the minimum was 12.0c.

What beautiful picture was unveiled when I opened the curtains this morning to reveal startling blue skies dotted with small white balls of cotton-wool clouds, and the mainland so clear with its topping of pristine white snow. The calm sea was reflecting that blue shade right across the channel. There was barely any wind to ruffle its surface. You can forgive the night being a bit on the cool side when your morning view is so pretty. It was more than warm enough in the sun to enjoy breakfast again on the balcony. The clouds though are multiplying especially to the south, but it is still a lovely day.
The temperature at 10am on Friday 19th March was 10.5°C. Real feel 11°C.
The reported UV for Today is 6 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday was a day that felt cold despite the temperature being more or less the same as the previous days. The morning was quite sunny to start with but clouded over quite quickly during the morning. There were the odd times when the sun fought back but it was a rear-guard action and the clouds won. The sea remained flat calm all day and was a beautiful pale jade colour: Roda is stunning even when the weather is not the best. It was feeling cold though, and despite my thick coat I didn’t get to feel warm until I was almost back home! The sunset was a surprising hint of pink over the NW part of the channel, which gradually changed to a more orange band. My picture is a poor attempt at capturing the strange effect. The evening stayed cool and completely cloudy with the late evening temperature a mere 9.0°C.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 12.0°C real feel 11°C and the minimum was 7.0°C.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) Yesterday was a lovely sunny day. There were plenty fluffy clouds coming from the west and then seeming to build up over the Pantocrator range. During the afternoon the odd cloud blacked the sun for a while and as there was a light wind you could feel a chill when the sun was hidden and a surge of warmth as it reappeared. I was working in my garden and it was very pleasant indeed; the wind ensured my washing was dry very quickly as well. We again had a nice but unspectacular yellow sunset. The night was fully starlit.
The maximum temperature was 18.6C and the minimum was 12.0C.

Good morning from Roda. What a change from yesterday’s view. Today it was cloudy with the mainland reduced to just a block of grey across a calm but also grey sea. There is no wind thankfully, because the first spots of rain started around 9.30 am and progressed to being a constant rain, it’s coming in from the south so the plants on that balcony are getting a nice drink. It was a cool night, and although we are in double figures right now it feels cold and damp. A day for staying close to the fire.
The temperature at 10am on Saturday 20th March was 11.8°C. Real feel 12°C.
The reported UV for Today is 6 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday was mostly a sunny day with only a few intervals when the sun got masked by some clouds. The wind was non-existent all day, and the sea was flat calm. There were beautiful views of the mainland all day. There was a build up of sheets of low cloud just before sunset which gave us a really lovely end to the day. The clouds continued to build up and by my late evening check we had a complete covering and a cool 9.7°C.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 13.2°C real feel 13°C and the minimum was 8.4°C.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) was glorious; full on sunshine, the lightest of afternoon winds. I was pottering around in garden doing odd jobs; bit of painting, bit of weeding bit of prep ready for planting vegetables out (the seeds are shooting well). Whilst we are told to stay at home the place to be is definitely out in your garden if you have one. I have had a couple visitors and just sitting outside in the sun with a wine and catching up; first time we have seen each other since the restrictions began: It was just so warm; almost like late May. Late afternoon there were two motor yachts passing bye Roda; the first one was really big (about 4 times the size of the 2nd one) and must have cost millions!!! Maybe rich Italians getting away from there....they wont be allowed to dock in Greece unless Greeks and even then will be forced into quarantine. We again had a bright yellow sunset with just a light creamy sky after it had gone and night began to fall. The starlit nights seem to just get better and better despite my having a street light opposite my house; I have to go round the back of the house to get the best views.
The maximum temperature was 19.5c and the minimum was 10.5C.

Good morning from Roda. It was a damp start to the day with it having rained during the night, both balconies, north and south were wet. Albania was only visible by the change in colour of the clouds topping the mountains. The sea was getting to have tiny hints of white horses out in the channel and I could hear waves coming ashore. Despite the look of the photos it has brightened up this morning and just now in the late morning we got a hint of sun. I’ve hung my towels out anyway. There is still no wind stirring the branches of the eucalyptus trees by Ammos Grill. They stir in the slightest of breezes. I am going to risk a beach walk to Acaharvi later if it looks like staying dry.
The temperature at 10am on Sunday 21st March was 12.9°C. Real feel 13°C.
The reported UV for Today is 6 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday saw us having a very rainy morning with quite a bit of the wet stuff giving a lot of standing water and full potholes. Although the council have been along the main road with their bucket of tar filling the worst ones in, and I do literally mean a bucket! The rain stopped in the early afternoon but stayed cloudy with only tiny glimpses of the sun. It was mild though and the lack of wind made it feel quite warm for my walk around the village. There was no sunset because we had a full covering of clouds which were still there when I did my usual late evening check. It was still a mild feeling 11.2°C at 10pm.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 13.3°C real feel 13°C and the minimum was 8.4°C.
A couple of photos from my walk yesterday.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) a light wind picked up late morning bringing in some high thin white clouds in little layers by 1pm. They didn't affect the sun until later in the afternoon as the amount of cloud increased and the sun moved around towards the west. It was still a very pleasant day outside and I spent all day in the garden until near 7pm; the sun had vanished behind cloud around 6:15pm. Despite the thickening cloud there was a partial starlit evening with the stars being mainly visible to the South and East but there was one particularly bright star (I think it is a planet) in the low western sky that shone through with a hazy ring around it.
The maximum temperature was 19.2c and the minimum was 9.8c. TEMPERATURE EXTREMES 2020 The maximum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was 31.0°C on 1st. August. The minimum shade temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2020 was -1.4°C. 8th. January.

Good morning from Roda it was a bit of an unsettled night with rain and raging seas, but mild as the temperature did just stay in double figures at 10.8°C. Morning brought us a completely cloudy sky with Albania absent on the horizon, it would have been a completely grey start to the day but for the lovely shade of jade of the sea. That sea was calm out in the channel but I could see and hear small waves coming ashore. There were breaks in the clouds appearing in the northern sky allowing glimpses of blue, and the south followed suit, but the clouds have made a comeback. There is a chill feeling breeze and rain was threatened on the forecast for this morning, nothing yet, but there is murk hiding our mountain peaks, so it could be unpleasant up there.
The temperature at 10am on Monday 22nd March was 11.8°C. Real feel 12°C.
The reported UV for Today is 6 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday started off not too bad with plenty of cloud, but barely any wind and a very calm se. I managed a lovely walk to the roundabout in Acharavi and back taking a couple of pics of blossom on my way. I was just approaching Nino’s when it started spotting with rain. I managed to get home and retrieve my towels hanging on the line. The spits and spots lasted on and off all afternoon as the wind got very blustery. The mainland completely disappeared as di most of the channel, and the cloud descended right down the mountains behind me. The wind got very strong by the late afternoon and the heavens opened, then just after 6pm we had a thunder and lightning storm which lasted around an hour. The rain eased as the wind changed from hitting the south balcony to the north one. The wind had been so strong one of my plastic chairs did a high dive from the balcony and landed on its feet at the bottom of the stairs! It also blew chairs and empty planters around on that south balcony. No damage done though. It was dry but cloudy when I did my late-night check, with the temperature a mild 12°C.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 16.5°C real feel 17°C and the minimum was 11°C.
This pic shows the water streaming from my neighbours guttering in typical Corfu storm way.
This day last year (thanks to Dave) we had few glimpses of sun in the morning early, then full cloud with a light wind. A shower in the evening around 9pm. Dave’s reports for last year will become patchy as we entered full lockdown this day last year and he lost access to WiFi.
Maximum 15.9c minimum 10.2c.

It was a cold night with the temperature dropping to 7°C. Morning brought us wall to wall clouds of varying shades of grey but fairly clear with good, if not entirely clear, views of the mainland still with some snow on the highest peaks. The sea looked calm and a pretty shade of pale jade but there were white topped waves making their way ashore. There is a bit of a cold breeze which, as the morning has advance is ruffling the surface. Feeling generally on the chilly side.
The temperature at 10am on Tuesday 23rd March was 11.1°C. Real feel 10°C.
The reported UV for Today is 6 (Range 1- 11+).
Yesterday saw us have a mostly cloudy morning with some attempt at them breaking giving tantalising but short-lived patches of blue. The seas were still very rough and noisy in the channel, but the mainland is absent. The wind did get strong and chased away much of the clouds and clearing the air giving lovely views of the mainland. It just felt cold all day and quite miserable for that. Most of the clouds were still absent when I braved the chill for my late-night check, and I could see a good sprinkling of stars. It was still 10.8°C at 10.30pm but dropping, and the wind had almost completely gone.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was 12.2°C real feel 12°C and the minimum was 10°C.
This time last year (thanks to Dave)
Monday 23rdmaximum 14.7c minimum 12.6C. Day of full cloud and a chill wind, gusting at times as it had done through the night. Signs of more snow on Albania when northern peaks came into view. A light shower from 7:45 until around 11am. Small whitetops as the wind continued. A few spots of rain mid afternoon came to nothing and it brightened and we actually had a sunset...only time any sun of note all day. The sky was yellow with pink on the clouds for about 15 minutes. Strongish wind most of the night,
Tuesday 24th maximum 13.8c minimum 8.9c. Plenty clouds and chill wind, mostly grey but bit clearer to NE and E. Some early sun. Slowly the clouds became individual and whiter and kept passing in the winds giving us a mostly sunny but chilly afternoon. After 3:30 the winds eased and the clouds reduced further giving us a nice late afternoon and sunset; which was bright yellow. Early night was starlit but there was signs of a large bank of clouds to the N, NW.
Wednesday 25th is a public holiday here; Greek Independence Day (all events cancelled) and also a big day in Church (again cancelled). Dawn shows almost full cloud cover and much greyer from the West, SW. A rather bad weather front is due to pass today and tomorrow with plenty of rains.....we will see.
