Good morning from Sfakera where the sun is rising early into a cloudless sky. There is a hint of breeze and it was 13.1c at 7am. The air is filled with birdsong and the sea looks a lot calmer this morning.
Yesterday the few clouds soon moved away leaving a sunny start to the day but there was a light gusting wind which slowly increased in strength until peaking in the afternoon. In the morning it got to about F4 and the sea soon turned to a mass of small whitetops. IN the afternoon the wind increased to a gusting F6 and younger trees were bending at almost 45% angles bu the sun remained up. The whitetops were now bigger but the air was clearer and Albania didn't get any haze until the early evening. The setting sun was a big bright ball, not easy to look at without sunglasses; sort of light yellow almost white in the centre; as the sun set so the wind eased. Once set there was a bright yellow sky that made a halo around Karousades hill as I looked from my balcony. The wind finally dropped off completely just before 8:30pm. After nightfall we had a lovely full starlit night; the moon was bright and is now just a few days off being full.
The maximum temperature was 22.3C and the minimum was 16.1c.

Good morning from Sfakera; where it is a mild 16.3c at 6:45am. There is a large grey cloud to the East and a bigger one to the NE otherwise there are just a few small wispy bits of white around the blue sky. The sea looks calm and the sun is starting to rise.
Tuesday max 24.9c min 13.1c. Cloudless start with the sun rising and a gentle breeze. I walked up to Episkepsi to visit a friend and spent the day there say on their balcony in the lovely warm sun, Very pleasant in just a t-shirt and shorts. There was hardly a glimpse of a cloud all day and if there was any afternoon winds we were well sheltered from them. The night was fully starlit with the bright near full moon.
Yesterday was a hazy start with high thin cloud cover to the west, south and south east, but thicker to the East. The early sun soon became just very short intervals. In tha afternoon there were no sunny intervals until after 4pm. In fact there were a few spots of rain only noticeable if you were out in the garden. The wind was light but began gusting more to F4 late in the afternoon and early evening. By 7pm it was very grey to the West and south west but it stayed dry. Early it was just partially starlit; the full moon trying to break through without success; however as night progressed so the clouds slowly began to drift away. The maximum temperature was 21.1c and the minimum was 14.3c.

Good morning from Sfakera where we have a hazy start with very high thin white cloud mainly over the sea. The sun is up, the air is still and it was 14.2c at 7am.
Thursday the few clouds cleared and we had a lovely sunny day. However the morning gave us a light wind that picked up as the day passed; by early afternoon it was gusting F4 t0 5 at times; the sea became a mass of whitetops. Whilst it dropped a little around 6pm it didn't really ease until after sunset which is just after 8pm. It was a bright yellow almost silver sunset again with a yellow sky briefly after the sun disappears from view. A full starlit night with a full moon. Maximum 22.5c, minimum 16.0c.
Yesterday was a cloudless day though hazy; in fact the haze towards Albania seemed to increase as the day went on. There was a light wind which briefly gusted to F3 in the early afternoon before dropping away. Another bright yellow, silvery sunset and star and moonlit night. Maximum 24.7c minimum 13.3c.
One thing that has been very noticeable over the last 2 months is the almost total lack of vapour trails; or lights at night; of aircraft. As most of you who visit will know it is fairly rare for us to hear any noise from planes as they fly over; just the odd one no and again from Corfu but vapour trails usually fill the skies on cloudless days. There hasn't as yet even been a fly past by the fire spotters though the ground is rather dry for the time of year. We have seen more military jets as there has been a Nato exercise going on between us and Italy....unfortunately a helicopter crashed killing several crew of Canadian airmen.

Good morning from a cloudy Sfakera; there are a few patches of blue and th e sun has shown its face in some areas. The cloud is high and mostly light grey but there are greyer patches here and there. In some places it is also very thin looking cloud. It was 13.8c at 7am and the air is still.
Yesterday was a wonderful cloudless day though it did remain hazy throughout. There was a very gentle afternoon wind. ANother bright light yellow sunset preceeded a starlit night with the still full moon shining brightly. It is still high in the western sky this morning though only just through the thin clouds in that area.
The maximum temperature was 25.5c and the minimum was 14.1c.

Good morning from Sfakera where we are due a small heatwave this coming week......reports vary but temperatures in Southern areas could get as high as 39c though 35c more widely predicted and maybe up to 33c here on Corfu. A good time with lockdown rules relaxed as we can social distance on beaches and meet in small groups (not just family members). This morning we wake to the rising sun into a cloudless sky; there is a mild haze over the calm sea and it was 14.4c at 7am.
Yesterday stayed cloudy with the odd patch of sun between the light grey clouds but by 10am the clouds won and slowly thickened and slightly darkened. Into the early afternoon a glimpse of hazy sun then it darkened gain from the west and a light wind followed. At 5:45 just when it looked like the clouds had passed there was the lightest and shortest of showers...….just a couple minutes and the droplets evaporated as the touched ground. By 6pm the clouds were thinning and the hazy sun was back and after 7 there was mainly sun through to a bright light yellow sunset. The sky to the west was a lovely silver creamy colour. Early nightfall it was just a partial starlit night but the clouds were slowly moving away. It wasn't really a day for sitting out but was warm in the patches of sun we had...…..it was a day for watching darting swallows chasing mosquitoes by day the darting bats doing likewise by night accompanied by the dancing fireflies.
The maximum temperature was 21.5c and the minimum was 13.7c.

Good morning from a very mild Sfakera where is was 18.5c at 6:45 am. There is haze and some high cloud still about that is quickly burning off in the rising sun. The air is still. I watered my veg plots early and was just accompanied by birdsong and the sound of bees filling the still blossomed orange trees; so pleasant to be out early.
Yesterday the morning was lovely and sunny and the temperature started to rise quickly. However early after midday so came a wind, mainly light but with frequent gusts of up to F5; this brought in high layers of cloud giving us hazy sunshine at best during the afternoon. At times it even looked a bit like thunderstorm was coming but it didn't. In fact it brightened up after 5pm and there was more direct sunshine. The wind didn't ease completely until gone 8pm. We had a partial starlit early night. The maximum was 27.6c, the minimum was 14.2c.
They are now forecasting temperatures touching 40c come Saturday in the Pelopenese but just around 33c here; in fact it looks like we will have thin clouds around on by the end of the week thus keeping our temperature to the low 30's.

Good morning from Sfakera where it is less hazy but with a few high thin clouds mainly to the North and North West. Otherwise it is blue sky and sunshine. It was 15.5c at 7am.
Yesterday as the morning passed so the humidity increased and the haze; Albania vanished, I couldn't even see it from the beach at Alexandros (the one nearest to Roda Beach Resort). Even over our hills there was a heavy haze but you could make out the ariel on top of Pantocrator with white clouds above it. The sea was calm and surprisingly warm for time of year and very few out on beach. Just woman plus 2 on section I was on...…..two groups of 2 women and some children on the bit as you walk back to the main Roda beach and only 4 noticeable on that beach. Mind you that was at 3pm so maybe others went out later in the day. There was a light wind. After 6pm the haze did start to thin, Albania returned and the sun brightened giving us a very hazy but bright silvery yellow sunset around 8:15pm. After nightfell we had a starlit night.
The maximum was 27.5c (real feel 30c) and the minimum was 18.3c.

Good morning from Sfakera; been offline as the Neon (whose wifi I use) is busy doing a clean and reorganise of the kitchen area....they have taken out the plugs and the wifi was on the same extension lead!!! SO I catch up....
Thursday; lots high thin clouds about early so sunny intervals began after 9:20am. There was more sun in the afternoon with a gusting wind; up to F5. Lot more cloud after 7pm. A few stars only were visible. Maximum 31.2c, minimum 18.5c.
Friday; Alight wind all night but warm, wake to a really high temperature. The humidity was great and lots haze about; Albania slowly almost vanish during the day. AGain there was a strong afternoon wind gusting constantly at F5 or 6. It was still sunny; and the wind eased about 6pm as the clouds/haze also thinned. Maximum 32.5c, minimum 26.2c.
Today; wake to high thin cloud with less haze than yesterday. It was gone 8am before a hazy sun appeared. I was out walking and it was very pleasant in the hills. It was 19.8c at 8am.

Good morning from Sfakera; where the sun is rising but behind some very thin high clouds. Much more blue sky today mainly to north and west. It was 20.8c at 7am with just a hint of a breeze.
Saturday; The sun was only hazy until mid afternoon but the humidity was high. I was in Episkepsi for the day and there was just a little breeze but we were inside the humid haze so it was sticky sat outside. The sun did set early due to clouds to the West but we still had a partial starlit night. Maximum was 32c (real feel 34c) and minimum was 19.1c.
Sunday; a very similar day to Saturday; Albania almost vanished behind the humidity and there was a gentle breeze. The sun didn't get out through the haze until after 8:15am and whilst there was more sun in the afternoon there always were thin clouds and plenty of haze around so we never got full on sunshine. Again we had a part starlit night. Maximum was 32.3c (real feel 35c) and minimum was 20.9c.

Good morning from Sfakera; we woke to a warm light wind with high thin clouds and signs of the sun trying to break through. It was 21.3c at 7am. Very hazy and no sign at all of Albania this morning.
Yesterday there was more sun than of late but it was still hazy and thin cloud. A light afternoon wind cleared it a little and it was brighter between 3pm and 5pm when the clouds thickened a little. No real sunset to mention and just the odd star to be seen once night had fallen. The fireflies were about and so to mosquitos. The maximum temperature was 30.7c and the minimum was 20.6c.

Good morning from Sfakera where it is not so humid and the sun is up. Whilst the sky is clear to the East from the South West to North West there is a big bank of cloud and its very grey to the SW. Overnight winds have dropped to a breeze; the rains late yesterday left sand on the cars. Albania is still hidden. It was 23.5c at 7:30am.
Yesterday was a mixed bag as it turned out to be the hottest day so far (if we ignore real feel temps) yet we had rain. All morning the thin cloud dominated and we only had odd glimpse of a very hazy sun. A bit more sun, still hazy came mid afternoon but still very humid. Much better sun after 5:30pm. There was a sudden gusting wind around 7pmthat brought in more darker clouds and the sun was gone by 7:30pm. A light shower began around 9pm stopped for a while during which we had some thunder before continuing until around 10:45pm. The wind by now was gusting F3 and this continued well into the early hours.
Maximum temperature was 33.1c and minimum was 21.0c.

Good morning from Sfakera; with bad weather forecast it was a surprise to see so much blue sky to the NW but there are clouds around and coming in though they don't look too thick or grey at the moment. It was 19.7c at 7am with a gentle breeze and signs of the sun rising.
Yesterday the sun came through about 8:45am as the clouds moved away. A gusting wind got up by mid morning and the gusts were up to F4 at times; plenty of large white fluffy clouds were passing. After 4pm the clouds began to increase and be in banks with grey underbellies, short sunny intervals and a light wind. These sunny intervals slowly increased in length especially after 7pm until sunset. It was a partial starlit night. Maximum temperature was 27.5c and minimum was 23.3c

Good morning from Sfakera where we woke to a cloudless sky and a rising sun. Gentle breeze and 17.4c at 7am.
Yesterday we escaped the bad forecasted weather front which stayed to the East of us. Light winds, short sunny spells but by 9am the clouds were getting thicker and greyer. They were over the shoulders of the lower Pantocrator hills. As I left the recycling at 11am to walk home there were a few claps of thunder but no rain locally. The wind had picked up and was gusting at F4; big passing fluffy white clouds. Over Albania was strange.....it started invisible; then it was low fluffy clouds, peaks showing above with other bigger fluffy clouds above. Then the lower clouds rose, and so did the upper ones and there was finally big very high fluffy clouds over the peaks. Lots of afternoon sun but the cloud slowly increased after 5pm. It passed behind and below a bank from the west and we still had sun at 8:40pm despite banks of grey all around. It started off partially starlit but as the night progressed so we had a full starlit night.
Maximum temperature was 26.1c and minimum was 19.6c.

Good morning from Sfakera where the sky is blue and cloudless, the sea is calm and the sun is up. The is a most gentle breeze and it was 17.6C at 8am.
Yesterday was a lovely day; fresh after the recent humidity. Sunny all day with hardly a cloud to be seen apart from a few that built above Pantocrator range. During the day there was a light wind. After sunset there were layers of light grey clouds across the sky and these varied in colour due to setting sun from pinks to light purple, cream, a bluish grey and grey above. Afternight had come it was totally starlit with the moon as well and lower down the dancing fireflies.
Maximum was 26.2c and minimum was 16.6C

Good morning from Sfakera. The sun is up but there are banks of high thin light cloud to the NE, N and NW. It is also hazy over the sea with Albania seen through the haze. The sea is calm and the air is still. The sound of the Priest cantering drifts over the village along with birdsong. It was 18.6c at 7:30am.
Yesterday was a lovely sunny day with a very light wind. As the day progressed so a haze thickened and Albania slowly hid away until the evening. There were a few passing afternoon clouds and some thin greyer ones in the evening but we had sun until it set at 8.48pm; a nice bright yellow, torch like sunset followed by a creamy coloured horizon. Finally the stars came out in all their glory but there was an absence of fireflies.
The maximum temperature was 27.8c and the minimum was 16.2c.
