Good morning from Roda. It was a mild night but we had a couple of hours of rain after about 5am. By the time I emerged the clouds had started to clear and by the time I am writing this the clouds have all but disappeared except for a cap of thick white whipped cream clouds attached to the peaks on the mainland. There is almost no wind, and the sea is very calm with Albania very clear across the channel. Breakfast could be enjoyed on the balcony basking in the sun with all evidence of any rain fast evaporating.
Yesterday started off well with lots of clear skies and plenty of sunshine. Though the shade temperature barely made it past 20°C but a thermometer on my balcony in full sun soon climbed to 33°C! The afternoon saw increasing clouds, with some of them low enough to get caught on the peaks behind me. Anyway they thought better of it and started to disperse by 5pm allowing the sun to shine through and by 6 the skies were almost clear just leaving some on the horizon. The sunset was a bit of a non-event leading onto a cool feeling evening, I was wishing I had put something warmer on than my cardigan as I walked into the village. Though it felt milder later on as I walked back. There was a fuzzy half moon in the sky that had few stars showing, but there were plenty of lights from the mainland villages. It is very noticeable that there are less lights around the bay now as businesses close for the season.
The temperature at 10 am on Sunday 25th October was 17.4°C.
Yesterday’s maximum temperature was 20.1°C real feel 21°C, and the minimum was 12.3°C.
This day last year was a mostly clear sunny day with no wind and a cool starlit night. The maximum temperature was 20.8°C and the minimum 12.0°C. The reported UV for Today is 3 (Range 1- 11+). Although the level of UV is low that sun can still burn.

Good morning from Roda. This is today’s view from my balcony.
It was a cool start to the day but the temperature is steadily rising, and in the sun, it is gloriously hot. We have almost clear blue skies, barely any wind and a calm sea with gentle waves breaking on the shore. I am sitting writing this with all my doors and windows open. Well they say fresh air is good for you!
Yesterday started off well with fairly clear skies and plenty of sunshine, however the early afternoon saw the wind spring up, bringing with it a cool feel, especially on the sea front. The sea began to see waves coming ashore and breaking on the harbour wall adding a bit of interest for the handful of swimmers determined to enjoy their end of season holiday. The wind also brought with it some clouds. They did play hide and seek with the sun for a while before deciding they had enough of the game and went somewhere else. Away from the sea front it remained very hot in the sun. By the end of the afternoon the clouds had been reduced to some stragglers caught up on the mainland mountains and thin hazy stuff to the south. I missed the sunset as the sun is very low in the sky and hidden by building. The evening saw clear skies, a half moon accompanied by plenty of stars and loads of lights on both sides of the channel. It was cool with the temperature around 14°C.
The temperature at 10 am on Monday 26th October was 16.9°C.
Yesterday’s maximum temperature was 20.5°C real feel 21°C, and the minimum was 14.9°C. This day last year was a clear and sunny day, marred by a cool afternoon breeze. The day ended with a wonderful sunset. The maximum temperature was 21.4°C, and the minimum was 12.1°C.
The reported UV for Today is 3 (Range 1- 11+). Although the level of UV is low that sun can still burn.

Good afternoon from Roda. Apologies for the late report but been visiting friends for coffee in Karousades. It was a cool night and I opened the curtains to an almost clear sky to the north and a very cloudy sky to the south. There was hardly any wind and the sea looked calm but I could hear waves coming ashore. It was very pleasant for a while enjoying breakfast in the sun on the balcony, but got chased in for my dressing gown when the sun went into hiding behind a cloud.
Yesterday stayed nice and clear for most of the time. There was a spell when we got some clouds gathering, not the menacing type, before they melted away. It did stay mostly wind free all day apart from a short spell in the early afternoon. The sunset brought a pleasant peach flush to the western sky, leading onto a cool evening with plenty of stars and lights around the bay, with a 2/3 moon gracing the sky. It was a cool 15°C at 10pm.
The temperature at 10 am on Tuesday 27th October was 16.7°C.
Yesterday’s maximum temperature was 20.1°C real feel 21°C, and the minimum was 12.7°C. This day last year was a clear and sunny day, with a lovely sunset and a clear night. The maximum temperature was 21.4°C, and the minimum was 12.1°C.
The reported UV for Today is 3 (Range 1- 11+). Although the level of UV is low that sun can still burn.

Good morning from Roda. Today is OXI day, a public holiday here in Greece. The Greek word for no (OKI) celebrates the day when General Metaxas said no to Mussolini who wanted free passage across the Albanian border into Greece. It is celebrated as their equivalent of our Remembrance Sunday, when there are parades both by the military, clergy and schools. They are not happening this year due to the covid restrictions. Back to the weather for today.. We have a mild bright grey morning here with the sun trying to find a route through the clouds. Whilst it is grey it is very clear with the dark bulk of the mainland appearing very close. Both the wind and the sea are calm, though I can hear waves coming ashore. The forecast has it cloudy but dry for the next ten days with some sunny periods and the occasional sunny day.
Yesterday saw a split sky first thing with clouds to the south and a clear sky to the north, if you ignored the usual cloud topping on the mainland peaks. It did cloud over more in the late morning to give a short spell of drizzle before reverting to a mostly cloudy day They did clear somewhat in the afternoon, but never entirely went away. The sea remained calm as did the wind, and the day overall was mild but feeling cooler due to the general lack of sun. Day progressed into night with the same cloudy sky masking a waxing moon. It was mild though with the late evening temperature almost 18°C. The temperature at 10 am on Wednesday 28th October was 16.4°C.
Yesterday’s maximum temperature was 20.2°C real feel 20°C, and the minimum was 13°C.
This day last year was a clear and sunny day but windy with a lovely sunset and a clear night. The maximum temperature was 24.8°C, and the minimum was 12.1°C.
The reported UV for Today is 3 (Range 1- 11+). Although the level of UV is low that sun can still burn.

Good morning from Roda. It is a lovely sunny morning here with just a smattering of clouds decorating the sky. There isn’t much of a wind but we have many white crested waves coming ashore. It was a cool start to the day but the temperature is rising nicely, it was almost too hot in full sun for my breakfast on the balcony.
Yesterday stayed grey but bright for the better part of the day. It wasn’t cold but you felt the lack of sun. Towards the end of the afternoon there started to be some small breaks in the clouds with hints of sunshine around. The breaks increased enough to give us a very pretty sunset of bands of pinks and lilacs. The clouds never completely went away to give us an almost full moon and a complement of stars playing hide and seek with it. There were plenty of lights around the bay to add their beauty to the scene. It was a cool 15°C by 10pm.
The temperature at 10 am on Thursday 29th October was 18.8°C.
Yesterday’s maximum temperature was 21.9°C real feel 20°C, and the minimum was 13.2°C.
This day last year was a clear and sunny day with no wind and a calm sea. The maximum temperature was 20.7°C, and the minimum was 13.3°C.

Good afternoon from Roda. We had a lovely start to the day with mostly clear skies and just a few decorative fluffy white clouds around. The breeze was benevolent and the waves dying down from yesterday’s excess. It was a cool night but the temperature at 10am was a very pleasant 18°C, so t was toasty warm for breakfast on the balcony. Clouds did increase a little for this shot from my south balcony, but still very pleasant.
Yesterday started off well but the wind shifted direction brought big waves, some big enough to crash over the sea wall by the Coral hotel. So, by mid- afternoon we had quite a strong breeze and plenty of white capped waves filling the channel. It felt quite chilly in that breeze on the sea front, but as soon as you turned away from the front it felt very hot in the sun. The sky became split with heavy dark clouds to the south and clear skies to the north. There was a pretty, if pastel, sunset before an almost full moon rose in the sky with some stars. There was some haze which reduced the number of lights visible from across the channel. It was a mild evening feeling cool in the wind, but still 19°C at 10pm.
The temperature at 10 am on Friday 30th October was 19.3°C.
Yesterday’s maximum temperature was 20.9°C real feel 21°C, and the minimum was 12.8°C.
This day last year was cloudy with thunder and showers brightening later. The maximum temperature was 19.5°C, and the minimum was 13.6°C.
The reported UV for Today is 3 (Range 1- 11+). Although the level of UV is low that sun can still burn.

Good morning from Roda. After a cool night it is a glorious sunny morning here today, with clear blue skies and a gentle breeze and a calm silky sea, with Albania nice and clear across the channel. We are, however, due to get strong winds by late afternoon, but the dry weather is to continue for a while yet which is good news for the olive harvest. All the Greeks I have spoken too are heading to the olive groves as soon as work commitments allow them. Today’s photo from the front balcony.
Yesterday was mostly a nice clear day, though we did get a cloudy spell in the afternoon with clouds gathering to the south again. They had all cleared to give a lovely sunset with lovely splashes of reds and oranges. There was still quite a breeze and plenty of waves coming ashore, although they were still white capped but much lower than the previous day. The full moon was extremely bright so there were only the brightest stars about, and more of the village lights from across the channel. The lights around our bay are now almost reduced to mostly street lights as the final seasonal businesses close for the year. It was a warm wind and evening with the late night temperature an almost balmy 20°C.
The temperature at 10 am on Saturday 31st October was 16.8°C.
Yesterday’s maximum temperature was 21.0°C real feel 21°C, and the minimum was 13.0°C.
This day last year was cloudy with good clear patches, calm winds and a mirror like sea, followed by a lovely sunset. The maximum temperature was 19.5°C, and the minimum was 14.6°C.
The reported UV for Today is 3 (Range 1- 11+). Although the level of UV is low that sun can still burn.

Good morning from Roda. Kalo mena for November. When I opened the door to my apartment, I got a strong whiff of smoke and had a little chuckle. It’s the first of November and the first day that fires can be legally lit, in fact it is getting very smoky out there. The valleys behind me are being lost in a pall of smoke, it seems to travelling along the contours of the land and not rising so much into the sky. Otherwise it is a sunny day with streaky insubstantial clouds, almost no wind and a calm sea. I can hear gentle waves meeting the shore and we have a clear view of Albania, and I can see no smoke there.
One hour later
Towards Albania
Yesterday was a lovely day to end October with, clear skies all day with only the very occasional cloud daring to make an appearance. The wind did get up, as forecast, around 4pm, but started dying away almost as quickly as it came. That strong wind brough white flecked waves right across the channel, which settled down to long low white waves coming ashore. After a lovely monochromatic sunset of fiery orange preceded by the usual pink flush across the land, we had a clear cloudless night. There was a blue moon high in the sky eclipsing all but the brightest stars. Across the channel all the village lights could be seen joining ours around the bay. It was a very mild 18°C T 10pm.
The temperature at 10 am on Sunday 1st November was 16.7°C.
Yesterday’s maximum temperature was 21.4°C real feel 21°C, and the minimum was 12.1°C. This day last year was a mostly clear day with almost no wind and a calm sea. The maximum temperature was 22.5°C, and the minimum was 13.4°C.

Good morning from Roda. There was a lovely dawn apparently as reported by my friend in Kavalouri, I missed it by at least an hour! We have quite a lot of cloud of mixed densities around, but they are not interfering too much with the sun. Though they do seem to be thickening to the south. I still ate breakfast on the balcony in the very warm sunshine. We have our usual November bonfires on the hillsides behind us making that very hazy, but Albania to the north has emerged from some early morning haze. There is almost no wind and the sea looks calm with the sound of gentle waves hitting the shore. I went to take a morning photo and caught this shot of the Minoan ferry and a cargo boat just off the mainland.
Yesterday stayed sunny and clear all day, very pleasant just sitting in the sun enjoying our last breakfast at Pirates for the season, with Stacey signing off for another year. The wind stayed kind and the sea kept its low waves for most of the day. A few clouds did appear towards the end of the afternoon, but they didn’t interfere with the constant sunshine. The day merged into night by way of a very pretty sunset, to which a few transient clouds in the west managed to add interest. Night time saw a full moon, with just the tiniest sliver off grace a sky with only the brightest stars. We had a full complement of village lights from the mainland to join our dwindling ones here. The bright lights of Roda Beach Hotel almost all switched off. It was a cool night with the temperature around midnight only 13°C.
The temperature at 10 am on Monday 2nd November was 16.5°C.
Yesterday’s maximum temperature was 20.6°C real feel 21°C, and the minimum was 12.0°C.
This day last year had a sunny start before drizzle and showers settled in for the rest of the day. The maximum temperature was 21.0°C, and the minimum was 14.9°C.
The reported UV for Today is 3 (Range 1- 11+). Although the level of UV is low that sun can still burn.

Good morning from Roda. We have seen the cloud cover increase as the morning went on. Breakfast was enjoyed in the warm sun on the balcony, but since then we have a covering of thin grey clouds that the sun is doing its best to shine through. There is almost no wind, and the sea is flat calm with the waves barely whispering as they hit the beach. There seem to be less fires this morning, maybe the initial urge to burn all the accumulated stuff has subsided a bit. I have heard more fire engines than usual since the start of the month, so maybe one or two got out of hand. My neighbour told me this morning that they attended a fire on a neighbouring property last night. This morning’s shot towards Albania, it is much brighter than it shows.
Yesterday was sunny with mostly clear skies. We did see a small amount of clouds gather in the afternoon, but they had just about disappeared by sunset, leaving enough to give us another very pretty one. These clouds did stage a comeback in the evening, so the waning full moon was playing hide and seek amongst them. There was a good showing of lights from across the channel, joined by the seriously depleted ones here around the bay. It was a cool 16°C at around 10pm, so a light jacket was enough.
The temperature at 10 am on Tuesday 2nd November was 17.0°C.
Yesterday’s maximum temperature was 20.0°C real feel 20°C, and the minimum was 12.0°C.
This day last year was a very wet day with only a few glimpses of the sun. The rain was torrential at times with lightning on the mainland, it was very mild though. The maximum temperature was 22.3°C, and the minimum was 18.5°C.
The reported UV for Today is 3 (Range 1- 11+). Although the level of UV is low that sun can still burn.

Good morning from Roda. I got up to beautiful almost cloudless blue skies, with some fluffy white clouds floating around. There is almost no wind, and the sea is calm, however, I can hear waves coming ashore. There is a general haze muting the view of the mainland, our backdrop is extra hazy due to the amount of smoke from the bonfires. It is very hot in the sun, so I rushed to get my washing on the line before enjoying my breakfast basking in the heat. It may only be 18°C in the shade, but a thermometer if full sun quickly went up to 40°C!
Yesterday was a quite a good day despite their being plenty of thin high cloud that did its best to stop the sun from performing. It was thwarted as the sun made its presence felt, and we got good breaks in that cloud, so overall it was a nice warm mostly sunny day. The wind stayed gentle and the sea only had playful waves coming onto the shoreline. The clouds had thickened enough to give us a truly stunning sunset. The sky and sea flushed pink as the sun made its way to bed. There was hardly any part of the sky that didn’t participate in the spectacle. There was no moon shining and I couldn’t see any stars , but there were many lights from the mainland villages and a cargo boat ablaze with white light heading east. It was a cool night with the temperature at 10pm 16°C.
The temperature at 10 am on Wednesday 3rd November was 16.7°C.
Yesterday’s maximum temperature was 20.2°C real feel 20°C, and the minimum was 13.0°C.
This day last year started with a thunder and lightning storm with heavy rain before drying up then more rain in the evening. The only temperature I have is 19°C at 7am as I was taking Steve to hospital.
The reported UV for Today is 3 (Range 1- 11+). Although the level of UV is low that sun can still burn.

Good afternoon from Roda. It is an afternoon report because I have decided I need to get fitter and have joined a walking group that do gentle walks (hopefully). This morning was a meander from Peroulades to Cape Drastis through the olive groves. Not far in distance but a few steep bits in it! This morning, after a mild night, was quite cloudy when I got up with only a few breaks in the clouds. The wind was gentle and the sea calm with the gentle sound of waves coming ashore. There was quite a haze with Albania trying to hide in it. As the morning progressed, we did see an increase in the breaks in the clouds and hence some sunshine.
Yesterday was a lovely day, sunny with only a few clouds coming and going, but never interfering with the sunshine. The wind stayed gentle and the sea calm with waves only very near the beach. It was beautiful weather for the start of November, and the day ended with another lovely sunset. We had a dark night with some stars, but not many lights from across the channel. It was a mild 16°C at 10.30pm.
The temperature at 10 am on Thursday 5th November was 16.8°C.
Yesterday’s maximum temperature was 20.1°C real feel 20°C, and the minimum was 13.2°C.
This day last year was mostly cloudy, warm with a sprinkling of rain.
The reported UV for Today is 3 (Range 1- 11+). Although the level of UV is low that sun can still burn.

Good afternoon from Roda. I am sorry for another afternoon report but my friends and I were enjoying a coffee get together before the three¬-week lockdown comes into force tomorrow. This morning saw a goodly amount of inoffensive white clouds scattered across the otherwise blue sky. These clouds quickly disappeared to give us clear skies except for a few caught up on the mainland. It had been a mild night and a pleasant temperature to enjoy my breakfast on the balcony. There was a gentle breeze and a ruffled sea with waves breaking on the shoreline and on the sea wall.
Yesterday was a mostly very cloudy day varying from complete cover to having some breaks in the clouds giving us a few glimpses of the sun. It remained very hazy however with the mainland all but gone from view by the late afternoon. The wind and the sea remained calm all day so we drifted via a very muted sunset into a dark moonless night. There were some stars amongst the clouds, of which there were still many. It was a very mild night for the time of year with the temperature at 10.30 17°C.
The temperature at 10 am on Friday 6th November was 17.8°C.
Yesterday’s maximum temperature was 20.6°C real feel 21°C, and the minimum was 15.4°C.
This day last year saw overnight rain petering out, leaving dark clouds on the mountains. It was dry but breezy for most of the rest of the day with lightning over the mainland. The maximum temperature was 21.6°C and the minimum 17.4°C
The reported UV for Today is 3 (Range 1- 11+). Although the level of UV is low that sun can still burn.

Good morning from Roda. It is a glorious morning here for our first day of the second lockdown. It was a cold night with this being the first night of the winter that I had condensation on the north facing windows. We have abundant sunshine from clear cloudless skies, there is a slight haze, a bit of a breeze and the sea is ruffled with gentle waves coming ashore. The photo is from the balcony pointing west showing a distant Karousades drowsing on its ridge in the morning sun. One lot of washing drying and my sheets are in the machine, the hope is to get them out and dry today.
Yesterday, after the pretty early morning cloud had quickly melted away, we had a lovely day with lots of sunshine. The breeze did get up a bit, but the waves were dying down a little. There weren’t any clouds to add interest to the pleasant sunset. We had a dark night until the late rising of the half-moon cast a pale golden shimmer across the bay. There were plenty of stars in the firmament with Orion rising in the east So many village lights from across the channel joining ours around the bay. The breeze had died away and the waves reduced to gentle lapping. It was a chilly 14°C at midnight.
The temperature at 10 am on Saturday 7th November was 16.3°C.
Yesterday’s maximum temperature was 20.8°C real feel 21°C, and the minimum was 15.0°C.
This day last year we had a cloudy but bright start but by afternoon we had thunder, lightning and heavy rain before easing to showers and more thunder and lightning in the evening. The maximum temperature was 20.0°C and the minimum 17.4°C

Good morning from Roda. It is another glorious day here. We have almost clear cloudless blue skies with only a few fluffy white things hovering over the mountains behind us, barely a breeze and a calm sea. There is some slight haze, aggravated here on Corfu by the autumnal fires, despite the lockdown the work on the land must continue. Land is cleared at this time of year and burnt to reduce the possibility of wildfires in the summer months. This morning’s photo catches a distant view of the ferry from Italy heading to Igoumenitsa.
Yesterday was a perfect day, sunny and pleasantly hot in the sun. There was an increase in the breeze in the afternoon, but it came to nothing, and the sea steadily calmed down throughout the day. There was a lovely monochromatic sunset with the western sky glowing flame orange as th sun set behind the Karousades ridge. We were left with a dark starlit night sky, clear, with all the lights around the bay present and correct. The moon rose too late for me to see it, but a photo on Facebook showed a lovely view with a moonlit bathed seascape. It was a chilly 14°C at 11.30pm.
The temperature at 10 am on Sunday 8th November was 15.3°C.
Yesterday’s maximum temperature was 20.0°C real feel 20°C, and the minimum was 10.0°C.
This day last year we had another thunderstorm during the night, but the heavy cloud in the morning completely cleared by late afternoon leaving astonishing air clarity. The maximum temperature was 19.6°C and the minimum 15.0°C
The reported UV for Today is 2 (Range 1- 11+).
