Good morning from a sunny Sfakera. We woke to an almost cloudless sky and a rising sun with no breeze at all. There was still a heavy dew. The fire spotting planes were also on patrol early today.
Yesterday morning there was plenty of sun and a light gusting wind despite the plentiful big and often grey clouds that were passing or hanging around hugging the shoulders of our peaks. In the afternoon the wind picked up to gust up to F4 and it was chilly if not sat in the direct sunlight; despite this there were many on sunloungers and despite the waves breaking onto the shore many were in the sea enjoying them. The sea is still very warm at the moment. The wind remained until into the evening but the clouds slowly reduced in number. After nightfall we had a mainly starlit night.
The minimum was 17.9c and the maximum was 23.6c

Good morning from Sfakera. It is a pleasant start to the day with small clouds to the east tinted cream by the as yet unseen sun. There is one very large grey cloud lower in the eastern sky. To the W, NW and North it is more layered clouds tinted pinks with lots of blue sky in between. Need to make the most of today as rains are forecast from Monday for a week.
Catching up Friday was a mostly cloudless day with plenty of sunshine and a gusting wind up to F3 in the afternoon. It felt cool if sat in the shade but in the su n it was very nice and you could feel the warmth on your back if just in a t-shirt. If in the shade you needed a thin jumper. There was a nice starlit night. Minimum was 15.8c and maximum was 23.4c.
Yesterday started with a thick dew. Mainly cloudless and sunny. By mid morning large white clouds were coming from the SW and greyer ones were over our peaks. By the afternoon the sunny spells became short intervals and by 5pm the sun was hidden from our view. A light breeze and although the temperature never really rose it was pleasant enough in the shade at football in just a t-shirt and also when walking home after the game. It was a partly starlit night. The minimum was 15.6c and the maximum was 22.4c.

Good morning from Sfakera. There are clouds all around coming from the SW; high blobs of white with much greyer almost black in places underneath moving very quickly while those above are hardly moving. The gaps between the clouds are reducing by the minute so we will soon have full cloud cover. At ground level there is hardly even a hint of breeze and it was a mild 19.2c at 7:30am.
Yesterday morning we slowly got sun and longer periods of it but clouds moved in from the SW, by midday two very large grey clouds blocked the sun. A light wind picked up and helped move the clouds along and it was a much sunnier afternoon and early evening through to sunset when a large bank of clouds started to roll in from the SW. It did remain however a fairly mild evening which was mainly starlit.
The minimum was 17.3c and the maximum was 24.2c.

Good morning from a soggy Sfakera; the air is still but very damp. The heavy rains in the early hours have cleared and the flooded garden has drained. There are still very grey clouds to the West, NW, North and NE: less so to the East. Is is much brighter from the South. A damp 16.2 at 7:30am.
Yesterday was a wet one for sure. In the morning the cloud was moving very fast and low; hugging our peaks as it came over them from the S to SW. Despite that there was a bit of sun before 10am. I managed to do my shift at recycling and get home in the dry. AFter 10am a gusting wind up to F4 picked up and the clouds darkened. Light rain started about midday and soon became very heavy with distant thunder. It was heavy for just over an hour with gusty winds up to F5-6. It finally cleared just before 2pm and there was a further glimpse of sun but the greyer clouds soon returned and it was dark. A low bank of fluffy whiter clouds passed under and hugged Karousades hill as it passed after 3;15pm. From 4pm we had a thunderstorm and lightning too; this continued, very heavy at times, until well after 10pm though there was a short easing between 7 and about half past when it just was light rain. The gardens were all flooded. The lightning and thunder affecting the tv signals all afternoon and evening.
The minimum was 18.3c and the maximum was 22.1c

Good morning from Sfakera. We again had a very heavy shower during the early hours but woke to a rising sun and an almost cloudless sky; just several very large fluffy clouds (part white part grey) heading from the SW towards what was a cloudless Albania. The air is still and damp and has a chill in it. It was just 14.8 at 8:30am.
Yesterday we had some sun at 8:30am and then a very light shower at 8:45. That was short lived and we had sunny intervals in a light gusting wind with plenty of passing cloud cover. The clouds built up from the SW and it looked threatening and sure enough just before midday it started to rain. Amazingly it didn't last very long and soon cleared to sun. The gusting winds got a little stronger and the clouds thinned more to leave a lovely sunny afternoon. I was on Roda beach and it was very pleasant if sat in the shade of the winds; I was more into the wind and had a thin jumper on and that was all that was needed. Small waves only as the wind was from the wrong direction to whip up the sea. There was a very end of season feel about the place. Passing clouds began to increase again late afternoon but we had a part starlit night before late on it began to cloud over.
The minimum was 16.0c and the maximum was 20.2c.

Good morning from Sfakera.A light gusting wind all night brought in the clouds and we had a heavy shower from just after 6am lasting through til after 9:15am; it did ease a bit after 8am until 8:45. By 9:30 there was a glimpse of sun over Agnos but the sky was 90% grey cloud moving fast in a light gusting wind.
Yesterday morning was mainly sunny with big clouds over the peaks; bits were breaking off and floating past. Fire planes were circling around the North and both of them flew very low over Sfakera; you could almost wave to the pilot!!! By early pm we were in shade due to cloud cover to the South and SW so had to wait for the sun to move round before we got it back mid afternoon. The sunset early behind a big bank of grey clouds to the West. It was a partly starlit night with plenty cloud around mainly to the South. The was also a light gusting wind that remained all night.
The minimum was 14.6c he maximum was 21.8c.

Good afternoon from a very wet Sfakera. Last night thunderstorm finally stopped sometime after 2am buat a gusty F3-4 wind remained. By dawn there was 75% grey cloud around, very grey in places but bits of blue sky to the west. It soon clouded over but there was a hint of sun at 10:15; at same time rain over Karousdaes and then a wonderful bright full semi circle rainbow from west of Karousades to just east of Roda Beach as I looked from my balcony. It remained for some 5 minutes.
Yesterday at 9:30 there was some sun over Agnos. It didn't appear in the village until gone 11:15 and then lasted just an hour. Shortly after we had a light shower fo rsome 20 minutes. It slowly cleared to a suuny but rather windy afternoon with plenty of passing clouds giving shady intervals after 2:45pm. The winds were gusting F3-4 and full clouds arrived at 4pm. It was about 6pm when it started to rain and it soon became heavy and a full on thunderstorm. Dozens of lightning flashes all around and long rumbles of thunder; not as loud as sometimes indicating the storm wasn't at its worst here; but still the shutters rattled. It remained this way with the gusting winds and very heavy rain for the rest of the evening and past midnight.
The minimum was 17.6 and the maximum was 22.1c

Good morning from Sfakera. It is a chilly start with damp in the air but the storms have seemingly passed. THere is a large bank of grey fluffy clouds over Albania but is mainly clear elsewhere with the sun just starting to show signs of rising. It was just 16c at 8am.
Yesterday morning it soon clouded over again but there was a bit of sun at 10:15. At the same time there was a light shower in the village; the result was a near perfect full semi circle rainbow stretching from west of Karousades hill to the hill behind Roda Beach as I looked from my balcony. It lasted a full 15 minutes before fading away. At 11am we had a short but heavy shower that cleared before midday but it stayed grey skies. Brief and light rain at 12:15 before it slowly cleared and became brighter. Sun finally arrived after 4pm and was mostly with us through to a bright yellow sunset. At that time there was a high mackerel sky to the West and layers of grey to the North and NE. It was partially starlit early but slowly more stars became evident.
Minimum temperature was 19.8c and the maximum was 22.2c.

Good morning from a chilly Sfakera. There is a heavy dew and a bank of white cloud rolling in from the west, with a few layers of thin grey cloud over the sea. The air is still, damp and chilly being just 13.1c at 8am.
Yesterday morning had plenty of sun, a light wind, and big fluffy grey bottomed clouds passing from the West. As the morning progressed the cloud increased and the sun reduced. However during the mid to late afternoon the clouds slowly dispersed and the sun was out; however if in the shade as I was sat at Nymphes watching the football it was chilly. The light wind was constant throughout the day so at least all my washing was nicely dried. There was a fine starlit night.
Minimum was 15.8c, the maximum was 21.5c.

Good morning from a chilly Sfakera; there is a heavy dew, it is cloudless and still. The sun is beginning to rise but it just feels cold at present; being just 12.9c at 8am.
Yesterday it wasn't long before the clouds appeared, big and fluffy white with some grey underbellies but they kept briskly moving in a light wind. Late morning the clouds thinned to be high thin layers but most of the time the sun was shining. It was one of those days when it felt a lovely 25c in direct sun but was chilly if sat in full shade. The sea was flat and there were many having a swim, enjoying the fact that the sea is still nice and warm. The afternoon remained the same as the morning sun wise but the light wind was a little stronger until about 5pm. AFter the sunset it was a mainly starlit night.
The minimum was 12.9c and the maximum was 21.5C

Good morning from Sfakera where it is very much the same as yesterday. Just distant fluffy clouds to the NW and North and a few greyer ones to the SW. There is again a heavy dew and a chill in the almost still air. The sound of gunshot all around as locals hunt shamelessly in the olive groves. SOme smaller birds have already arrived like Great tits, Blue tits and Coal tits and are singing away in the gardens. Just 12.7 at 8am.
Yesterday morning it didn't take long for clouds to appear once the sun was up and the dew started to evaporate. Plenty of high thin white cloud was around with big fluffy clouds in the distance and over our peaks. A light wind came along mid morning and continued all day as the bigger clouds passed bye; though they banked up over Albania; and the thinner higher clouds hung around. Again it felt more like 24c if sat sheltered in direct sunshine but was chilly if in the shade and the wind. During the afternoon the clouds began to disperse. There was a mainly starlit night which got better as the clouds vanished.
The minimum was 12.8c and the maximum was 21.0c.:

Good morning from Sfakera. Chillier than the last few days, just 11.9c at 8am, there is again a heavy dew and a cloudless sky. The sun is starting to rise.
Yesterday was very similar to previous days. Clouds built over the peaks and Albania; big and fluffy and partly grey. A light wind and plenty of sun; only hiding as clouds passed. Again if in the direct sun it felt 24c but it was cooler in the shade. It stayed the same all day with no afternoon change to the wind. After the sun set we had a lovely starlit night with a crescent moon.
The minimum was 12.7c and the maximum was 21.1c.

Good morning from Sfakera; its another similar start to the day. Chilly, still, cloudless and a heavy dew with the sun rising.
Yesterday clouds remained over the hills and Albania and there were thin whispy clouds around but it was a sunny day with a gentle breeze. It stayed that way all day again feeling warmer in the sun than the temperature was showing. The was again a lovely starlit night.
The minimum was 11.8c and the maximum was 21.7c.
Jan should be back with the forecast from tomorrow.

Morning from Sfakera; Jan has a few teething problems with her weather station that should be sorted for her to resume soon. In the meantime it is a same again morning but the dew was heavier. SInce the sun rose it has been a lovely still sunny morning; I have a wash done and out and did several other outside jobs and it was very pleasant.
Yesterday was a same again day being nice and sunny, a gentle light wind that did pick up a bit to gust F3 at times on the beach. There was a little high thin cloud around. Afer sunset it now gets dark quicker but that brings out a wonderful starlit sky.
The minimum was 12.2c the maximum was 21.1 (but felt like 25c.)

Good morning from Roda, you don’t know how good that feels to be writing it. I was stirring at dawn and threw the curtains open as the sky was flushed with streaks of the prettiest pinks against a clear blue sky. I made a cup of tea and just sat and watched it from the warmth of my bed. It is chilly first thing with a heavy dew. Breakfast saw me enjoying it on the balcony as the temperature was rising nicely. By then we had thin streaky clouds, plenty of sunshine and almost no wind. The sea was lovely and calm with gentle waves hitting the shore, though it was difficult to hear then over the racket of the chain saws, and Albania was pretty clear on the other side of the channel.
Yesterday, after the few early morning clouds had dispersed was one of cloudless skies, the merest of breezes and a gentle sea. In the sun it felt very warm, but decidedly cool in the shade. The remaining visitor were taking full advantage of this glorious autumn weather. Rain and a storm are forecast for overnight! The day eased into night via another lovely sunset where the mountains opposite flushed deep pink, the photo doesn’t do it justice, giving us a mild evening where a light jacket was sufficient. The evening sky was decorated with a half moon and plenty of stars, and the lights of Albania were shining across the sea to add to the view.
The temperature at 10 am on Saturday 24th October was 15.0°C.
Yesterday’s maximum temperature was 24°C real feel 24°C, and the minimum was 19.0°C. This day last year was a clear sunny day with no wind and a starlit night. The maximum temperature was 24.8°C and the minimum 16.0°C. The reported UV for Today is 3 (Range 1- 11+). Although the level of UV is low that sun can still burn.
