Good afternoon from Roda. We had a split screen sky this morning. To the north it was clear and there was just a fringe of clouds on top of the Albanian peaks, to the south we had plenty of clouds with some menacing looking with the mountain tops disappearing into them. It was quite hazy with Albania a bit indistinct, but there wasn’t much wind. We had an early morning drive into Corfu Town and it was very hazy as we came over the top, with mist gathered in the valleys.
Yesterday was glorious for the better part of the day. The early morning clouds that threatened to spoil the day faded into obscurity, leaving just a dusting of white cotton wool balls across the sky. By the end of the afternoon thin high clouds were starting to edge their way across the sky. It was so hot in the sun that I was keeping my legs covered as I sat by the pool with my family. When I went home, my thermometers, kept in shade on the north balcony were reading 20°C, the weather station at Arillas was reading 21°C, so I was happy. In full sun on the south balcony the thermometer read 47°C! No wonder my legs were burning. Out of interest I let it cool down before putting on our south balcony table which had been in the shade for several hours and it read 25°C, which would have been reflected heat from the building. The afternoon drifted into evening with a lovely sunset which we watched from the To Neon at Sfakera. It was quite cloudy by then but there were enough clear patches for us to glimpse the stars.
The temperature at 8.00am on Friday 24th. May 2019 was 17.0°C. Real feel 17°C and dew point 13°C.

Good morning from Roda. We had a lovely start to the day with lots of blue sky and some clouds. I was aware of there having been a beautiful sunrise on a visit to the bathroom. However, as the morning has progressed, we are getting some quite long cloudy spells. When the sun is out it is very hot, as I experienced having breakfast on the balcony and could feel my back starting to burn. It is a much better day than the damp one forecast, so I am being brave and washing the mountain of towels my family left me with.
Yesterday was mostly a very nice day, though there were plenty of clouds around, and Roda did have a cloudy spell in the early afternoon. The sun prevailed and the rest of the day was one of sunshine and heat, with the shade being pleasantly cool. The waves got up a bit and we had quite a breezy spell for a time in the late afternoon, before everything settled down again. We had lovely clear skies overhead with fringes of cloud around the edges and the haze towards Albania was persistent. There was a very nice sunset, followed by a clear evening with plenty of stars and a host of dancing fireflies. IT was a mild evening with the temperature approaching midnight a warm 19°C.

Good morning from Roda. We have another cloudy start to the day, but it is very bright and warm. There is a general haze, practically no wind and the sea is calm, so overall it is a good start. The sun is finding gaps in the clouds, the sea is blue with a dark streak just in front of Albania, which is slightly more than a block of colour.
Yesterday was a hot and sunny day for the most part. We had a few cloudy spells that didn’t last long and the breeze got a bit fresh at times, but little to interfere with the serious business of the day of relaxing in the sun. There were enough clouds left at sunset to give a us a lovely streaky one, however not as good as this photo I took a few days ago. It was still hazy with only the bigger villages in Albania being seen, and their lights joined ours. We could only see some of the brighter stars due to that haze, and the fireflies were still dancing. It was a slightly warmer evening with the temperature at midnight 19°C.

Good morning from Roda. We had heavy overnight rain that had cleared by the time we got up. When we did peer out of the curtains, we had extensive clouds, quite a breeze and a rough sea out in the channel in front of a clearly seen Albania. It is a warmer start than of late and getting warmer with a few sunny and brighter spells.
Yesterday, after a cloudy start gave us a nice morning with plenty of sunshine. But, it clouded over, got a bit chilly and we had a few spots of rain. This didn’t stop a group of children having a whale of a time in the sea by the Aphrodite. It soon brightened up and the chill went away and we had a pretty good afternoon, feeling a little humid with the higher dew point. The evening was mild, hazy with a warm southerly breeze. It was still a balmy 21°C late into the evening. . The temperature at 10.00am on Monday 27th. May 2019 was 20.0°C. Real feel 20°C and dew point 14°C.

Good afternoon from Roda. You will be getting quite a lot of afternoon reports as we have to go to Corfu Town quite a bit over the next few weeks. This morning started promising with a fair bit of blue skies and the clouds starting to retreat. However, those clouds were brooding over the mountains so the villages on Pantokrator would have been dull and misty, and probably the resorts of Gouvia, Ipsos etc. also. As we headed to town is was dull and very cloudy going over Troumpeta, and Corfu Town itself was affected. The sun however managed to shine by the time we reached there. It was very breezy with a ruffled sea, but, because the wind was from the south there were no waves.
Yesterday, after the early morning rain and showers was a not bad day. It was mostly sunny with some cloudy spells and we even had a drop or two of rain before it all cleared up, and we had a mixed afternoon of sunshine and cloud. There was enough sunshine in the afternoon to tempt us into the sea for a swim at Almyros, boy was it cold as the water is deep where we go. The evening saw the breeze and the waves dying down and we had a marvellous sunset. We actually didn’t see it, but what photos I saw it was stunning. It was a mostly cloudy evening with some haze, but very mild with the late evening temperature around 21°C.
The temperature at 9.00am on Tuesday 28th. May 2019 was 20.5°C. Real feel 21°C and dew point 15°C.

Good afternoon from Roda. We had a very cloudy and windy start to the day with only a few blue patches to be seen. Albania was lost in the haze as were our mountain tops. It would have been very foggy in Strinilas and Perithia. The sea however was calm as the wind was mainly coming from the south, and best of all it was quite warm, after a very warm night.
Yesterday was mostly a very good day once it got going. We had plenty of hot sunny spells interspersed with cooler cloudy ones. There were very dark threatening looking clouds over Pantokrator, so, I think, that those resorts of Ipsos and Dassia, probably had a very dull day. For us there were enough clouds to add interest to the sunset as were progressed into a nice warm evening, even if there was still quite a bit of a breeze about. It was still 21°C at 11pm. The temperature at 10.00am on Wednesday 29th. May 2019 was 21.9°C. Real feel 22°C and dew point 16°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 26.4°C and the minimum 19.0°C. A mostly sunny day and calm day, with an evening thunderstorm on the mianland.

Good afternoon from Roda. Recycling duty this morning, and we were so busy the shift should have been 2 hours but we worked for three. It is better than going to the gym for exercise. Any how back to the weather. It was a cloudy, but bright, start with low lying cloud coming down our mountains and Albania lost somewhere out there in the murk. There was just a hint of a breeze and the sea was calm.
Yesterday was a pretty good day overall. Yes, we had a cloudy start with only a few blue patches, but as the day progressed with ended up with good long sunny periods with a few cloudy spells. It was almost like two different months, when the sun was shining it felt right for May and hot, but when it hid, we were feeling it more like April and cool. The clouds won by early evening and we were back to where we started, with just a few blue patches. As sunset approached the skies started clearing and we had a muted start to a very good sunset. The evening saw the wind drop away completely and the sea became dead calm. It was a mild 21°C at 11pm.
The temperature at 8.30am on Thursday 30th. May 2019 was 19.5°C. Real feel 20°C and dew point 15°C.

Good afternoon from Roda. It was a lovely start to the day with some thin high cloud that quickly dispersed with the warming sun. We were left with a fringe of small innocuous ones on the horizon. It was very hazy with Albania being little more than an indistinct outline. All-in-all it promised to be a lovely day with a gentle breeze and a calm sea.
Yesterday could have been a lot better. After a cloudy but bright start we saw enough clear sky to give us some good long sunny spells in the morning, although there was a very brief moment when we had a rogue spit and spot of rain. The afternoon saw it becoming increasingly cloudy, enough to give us about an hour of extremely gentle rain between 3 and 4pm. Then everything started to get better as the clouds headed to the edges and we again had some lovely sunny spells. There were enough clouds to make an amazing sunset leading onto a clear starlit night. The haze persisted though and we could see few Albanian village lights. It was a mild night with the temperature 19°C at 11pm. There were only a few fireflies performing as it is still a bit too cool for them.

tHANKS FOR THE WEATHER REPORTS JANIEMOU,KEEP THEM COMING...........ENJOY...KAZ Thank you Kaz, it has been a bit of a much cooler cloudier May than we would expect, the garden is needing watering as we haven't had much rain and some of the seeds aren't germinating well because it is a bit cooler. I suppose we will have to get used to these strange weather patterns that the whole world is experiencing. But when the sun is out it is still hot, and there is an added bonus in that the wildflowers this year have been spectacular, as have some garden plants. The jasmine and roses are covered with blooms.

Good morning from Roda. Kalo mena for June to everyone. It is a lovely morning here, lots of blue skies with pretty fluffy white clouds decorating it. There is a gentle breeze stirring the trees and we still have waves left over from yesterday though not as many or as high. It is calmer further out. Yesterday we had white crested waves for as far as the eye can see. It is surprisingly cool in the shade but oh so hot in the full sun. Breakfast was enjoyed on the balcony, need to get the parasols out as it is almost too hot. We will have some time on the beach but think waves will be too big to swim. At Roda beach they are off the great fun size for splashing around in.
Yesterday was a bit of a mixed bag. The morning clouds increased in line with the winds and seas. By the afternoon we had very strong cool winds and the seas had been whipped up into big waves all the way across the channel. By mid afternoon the clouds had covered the sky before retreating again to give us an almost clear sky by the time of the monochrome sunset. The winds cleared a lot of the haze, so Albania was nice and clear across the turbulent sea. It was a cool evening chasing everyone inside or behind the screens. The haze had lift enough so that we could see some stars and the lights of some Albania villages. The fireflies though were amazing, with the field next to the apartment, having an amazing show of pulsing lights.
The temperature at 10.00am on Saturday 1st. June 2019 was 19.3°C. Real feel 19°C and dew point 15°C.

Good morning from Roda. It was a lovely dawn this morning with the sea, clouds and mountains flushed with pink. I stayed awake just long enough to admire it. When we eventually stirred, we had a lovely day. Lots of blue skies, plenty of sunshine and a reduction in the haze so we could see Albania again. The sea was calm with the waves of the last couple of days missing and the breeze had reduced to a gentle whisper. We enjoyed our tea and toast on the balcony basking in the hot rays of the sun. It was too cool on the other balcony. The cooler than usual weather continues but we are due more normal temperatures in a week. However, don’t let them fool you, it may be cool in the shade but the temperature in the sun is nearly 20°C hotter, and with the high UV, we are seeing a lot of two legged lobsters!
Yesterday was mostly sunny and hot away from the strong breeze. It the shade it was still a bit on the cool side. There were substantial banks of clouds over the mainland and to the south of us, so some of the east coast resorts may not have had a great day. The top of Mount Pantokrator was lost in the clouds, so I expect were some of the higher villages. The haze partially cleared as we approached evening with Albania emerging from across a calming sea and a lessening breeze. There was a good sunset as we had many clouds around, but they starting clearing as the evening progressed. It was a mild 18°C at 11pm.

Good afternoon from Roda. We managed to get a glimpse of a pretty dawn before finishing our sleep. It must have rained soon after as we awoke to a wet garden. We had an early start as we had to go into Corfu town for several appointments. It was raining as we set off and continued to do so all the way to town. There was a brief interlude but the rain was soon back. It felt very cool despite the lack of any wind. The sea was flat calm, which together with the heavy mist created an infinity look to the sea dotted with white boats. It looks like this bad weather is to stay at least for tomorrow.
Yesterday, after a wet start with thunder and lightning began to improve around mid-day and we ended up with a lovely sunny afternoon. The clouds kept a respectful distance from the sun, but remained ominous at times, coming down the mountain sides and loitering over the mainland. There was a good sunset as we had enough clouds to join in, with much of the area flushing pink. The breeze and the waves started to increase during the evening, which remained quite cool with the 11pm temperature around 18°C.

Good morning from Roda. It is a calm and still morning here. We have a gentle breeze, a sky full of clouds, but with some blue areas that are growing quite nicely. We still have haze and low clouds with the tops of our mountains trailing mist and Albania barely there across the calm waters of the channel. The forecast for today is quite hopeful in that we will see the last of the rain and the sun will start to reign again.
Yesterday could only be described as miserable. We veered from light but persistent rain to proper downpours where the gutters couldn’t cope and spouts of water gushing from rooves were threatening to drench passers-by. The garden became waterlogged and our stepping stones in the lawn were under water. Not only was it wet but it was also cold, and we felt sorry for our visitors in that accommodation that only had solar powered hot water. The bars were full of refugees keeping their spirits up by whatever means they could. Eventually the rain stopped early evening so those bars quickly emptied as people headed back for a change and a meal. The bad weather however produced some lovely views with the lower valleys appearing to be on fire as the clouds in them headed skywards. At times the cloud base was so low that even Karousades was lost to our view, and as for Albania forget it, we were an island in an infinity sea. The wind changed slightly to give us some same wavelets, a gentle breeze and Albania emerging as an outline. It was 17°C at 11.30pm.

Good afternoon from Roda. It was a very promising start to the day as we headed out to do a shift at the recycling centre. Probably half our visitors were from local businesses, and the majority of the rest were Greeks, and they are getting very proactive. We went to the FGT but Dave and Linda were not able to come so we went to them. The morning could have done with being a bit warmer considering it is June, and there were too many cloudy spells. We are due hot sunny weather later this week, but not getting near last years temperatures, and so the strange weather continues.
Yesterday turned out lovely despite a cloudy start. Those clouds gradually went elsewhere and we ended up with a lovely afternoon, if slightly humid, and enjoyed our first real long swim of the season. The clouds didn’t go far and returned to give us cloudy spells with the tops of our mountains buried in them. By the time the sun was setting there were enough around to give quite a pretty sunset. It was a very calm evening with little in the way of a breeze and a flat calm sea, but we didn’t lose the haze. As were we walking back from the village the fireflies were starting to shine and the sky was a hunting ground for lots of the little bats.
