Good afternoon from Roda. I have been wondering all afternoon what I had forgotten to do, it was this report. I am blaming old age. We had another very busy session at the recycling which is keeping us fit and at least some of the recycling going to the right place. It was a beautiful morning, with clear blue cloudless skies with no wind and a calm sea. Albania was emerging from the haze and was it her rightful place. Hopefully we have seen the last of the poor weather.
Yesterday wasn’t as good as it promised to be. We did have plenty of sunshine, which was very warm when you were out in it feeling a bit humid, but we also had quite a lot of cooler cloudy times. The sun kept finding a cloud to hide behind in an otherwise clear sky! Most of the offending clouds cleared away by sunset to give us a good show as always. The evening seemed warmer than of late, I walked back from the village carrying my cardigan. We had a sliver of a crescent moon with a few stars and some fireflies. It was a mild 19°C at midnight.
The temperature at 8.00am on Thursday 6th. June 2019 was 18.1°C. Real feel 18°C and dew point 15°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 27.3°C and the minimum 21.1°C. A mostly sunny day with some clouds later on.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 22.1°C (real feel 23°C), and the minimum was 16°C, a dew point of 18°C.
The maximum humidity was 86% and the minimum 74%.
The reported UV for today is 9 (Range 1- 11+) UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around the summer solstice). We have now reached that time of year were the sun cream has to appear, so easy to burn with this high UV.
DEW POINT Less than 10°C feels dry Between 10°C and 18°C Feels comfortable Between 18°C and 26°C Feels increasingly humid and uncomfortable. At the highest it is unhealthy and even fatal for people with asthma
RODA AND CORFU TEMPERATURE EXTREMES The maximum temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2018 was 33.0°C real feel 35°C on 8th.June real feel 35°C. The maximum recorded temperature ever in Corfu was 42.8°C The lowest recorded temperature was -8.8°C

Good morning from Roda. It is a lovely morning here. We awoke to the sun streaming in from an almost clear sky decorated with a few token clouds. There is a gentle breeze and we have a flat calm sea. There is some low-lying mist in front of Albania, which is quite clear this morning. So, it is promising to be a lovely day. We will go to the beach and hopefully get a nice swim. The sea is getting warmer even where it is quite deep, it must be very warm in front of the village.
Yesterday was quite boring weather-wise. It stayed sunny with clear blue skies mostly. Only one or two thin clouds braving it. The high humidity made it feel a touch humid. The wind never made any more effort than to make a gentle breeze and the sea was calm but with a ruffle. Not enough to make anything other than token waves. We had a monochromatic sunset which gave way to a clear evening with a bigger crescent moon, quite a few stars and lots of fireflies.
The temperature at 10.00am on Thursday 7th. June 2019 was 20.6°C. Real feel 21°C and dew point 17°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 27.4°C and the minimum 20°C. A mostly sunny day with some clouds over Albania.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 22.1°C (real feel 23°C), and the minimum was 16.6°C, a dew point of 19°C.

Good morning from Roda. It is another lovely morning here. There a still calmness that has settled over Roda. There is a blue sky with no clouds a gentle breeze and a general haze that has reduced Albania to a series of interesting ridges. The sea is calm, and the scene was enhanced by a stately liner gliding in front of Albania to ports unknown. And, at long last, the heat is racking up it is already warmer now than yesterday’s maximum temperature. Now we have to find our beach parasols otherwise we will burn. It is unlikely that today will reach last year’s maximum of 33°C though.
Yesterday was a perfect day, beautiful all day. Maybe still a little cool in the shade but beautiful and hot in full sun. The breeze stayed kind all day, the sea, warming up nicely stayed calm with miniscule waves. There was a monochromatic sunset followed by a clear starry night with a lovely crescent moon. We stayed out a bit later so that was probably why we didn’t see any fireflies. It was a pleasant 20°C at 11.30pm.
The temperature at 10.00am on Saturday 8th. June 2019 was 22.0°C. Real feel 22°C and dew point 18°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 33.0°C and the minimum 20.3°C. A sunny and very windy day.

Good morning from Roda. It is another fabulous morning here, we have clear blue skies with a single streak of high cloud, gentle breezes and a calm sea. The haze is still around and Albania is not as clear as yesterday, which isn’t saying much. And it is hot and has already reached yesterday’s maximum temperature. Thankfully on the north coast we stay just a degree or two cooler than Corfu Town due to the prevailing winds. Think we will be glad of that today.
Yesterday was a scorcher, feeling so much hotter than it normally would after the low temperature s we have had recently. It felt that we had gone from spring to high summer overnight. It was a day of constant unbroken sunshine with a hint of a breeze which barely stirred itself at the usual time in the afternoon. There was a monochromatic sunset leading onto a clear, if hazy, evening with a waxing crescent moon, some of the brighter stars and a few fireflies. The frogs, however, in the stream by the carpark are in fine voice. It was a slightly humid day giving us a sultry night with the late evening temperature a balmy 24°C.
The temperature at 10.00am on Sunday 9th. June 2019 was 24.8°C. Real feel 26°C and dew point 19°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 26.4°C and the minimum 24.0°C. A cloudy and windy day.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 25.8°C (real feel 27°C), and the minimum was 17.6°C, a dew point of 21°C.

Good morning from Roda. And so, the settled weather continues. We have a clear cloudless blue sky, the merest of breezes, and the sound of gentle waves. Albania is barely visible with the continuing haze, it is already hot, so it is going to be a day for the beach or lounging round the pool with something long and cold at hand.
Yesterday stayed lovely all day, the expected high wind never materialised, but we did get small waves by the evening. The scrap of cloud seen first thing in the morning disappeared, to be replaced around sunset by two tiny versions of it. The haze and the lack of clouds failed to give us any real sunset. So, the slightly humid day ended with a lovely balmy evening with the late-night temperature a warm 24°C. The haze was such that we could only see the almost half moon and the lights of the largest Albanian villages. It was the first night of the year the bedroom mozzie nets came down so we could leave the window open during the night, and the ceiling fan was switched on.
The temperature at 10.00am on Monday 10th. June 2019 was 23.9°C. Real feel 24°C and dew point 19°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 25.0°C and the minimum 20.9°C. A sunny day with gathering clouds later on.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 27.9°C (real feel 30°C), and the minimum was 20.4°C, a dew point of 20°C.

Good afternoon from Roda. It had been another lovely day here. We had blue skies that were clear over us but caught up over Albania. The sea was calm, I couldn’t hear any waves, the breeze was gentle and we hadn’t lost the haze so Albania was barely visible. It was already quite hot at 8am as we headed to town.
Yesterday continued to be lovely and hot, though not as hot as the previous day. It was in that nice range of hot but not too hot. The afternoon saw the wave size increase before dying away to a flat calm by the evening. There was a build-up of clouds around us which gave us an amazing sunset. The slightly humid day was followed by a clear balmy evening with those clouds staying over the mainland. We have a half moon peering through the haze as we wandered back home admiring that sunset.
The temperature at 8.00am on Tuesday 11th. June 2019 was 21.7°C. Real feel 22°C and dew point 17°C.

Good afternoon from Roda. The lovely weather continues unabated. We woke up to clear skies, a gentle breeze and endless sunshine. The haze is such that Albania is hardly there across the calm sea of the channel. A day for lazing around by the pool or the beach. Steve on the other hand is in the garden morning and evening. We are at last getting the usual June weather and temperatures.
Yesterday started off lovely with plenty of sun, a goodly amount of heat a gentle breeze to cool the skin and a gentle sea to give a more thorough cooling. There were clouds over the mainland mountains with thin clouds around us. However, they did not affect the sun’s rays reaching us. The wind got up in the afternoon and gave us white horses right out in the channel and bigger waves coming ashore. It was only a flurry and the wind and the waves calmed down and had all but died away by the evening. The clouds stayed over the mainland, but we did get a lot of haze and a few small clouds in the late afternoon, which eased as night approached There were some cracking billowing huge clouds over the mainland that gave us another impressive sunset. The day had been a bit humid due to the humidity, and it didn’t ease but gave us a balmy calm evening, perfect for dining al fresco.

Good afternoon from Roda. It was very hazy this morning when we stirred. There was a clear sky, no wind and a calm sea. Albania was just a blur on the horizon. The amount of haze muted the power of the sun, so it was a little cooler first thing.
Yesterday was just a repeat of the previous day, in that it was nicely hot, the sea was calm, we had a haze with all but hid Albania. The breeze did stir itself for a time in the afternoon, but gave it up as needing too much energy. We slipped quietly into from a slightly humid day into a calm and balmy evening. I missed the sunset but think it was too hazy to have been great. We had a moonlit sky with just a few lights from Albania showing across the channel. There are still plenty of fireflies in the field next to us as it hasn’t been cut yet. It was a mild 23°C at 11pm.
The temperature at 8.00am on Thursday 13th. June 2019 was 20.8°C. Real feel 22°C and dew point 15°C.

Good morning from Roda. Welcome to a very hazy Roda. It is so dense that Albania has disappeared into it and our backdrop is fast joining it. We have barely a breath of wind and a lovely calm sea by the sounds of it. The haze is such that you can’t see if there are clouds or not, however, we do have sun so they can’t be substantial. It is going to be another humid day, feeling hotter than the actual temperature.
The temperature at 10.00am on Friday 14th. June 2019 was 22.7°C. Real feel 23°C and dew point 19°C.

Good morning from Roda. The haze and high daytime humidity continue. Albania is barely a suggestion across the channel. There is a bit of a cooling breeze the sea is silent buts looks ruffled and a beautiful shade of blue. It was already close to yesterday’s maximum by 10am., and already feeling humid, I think it might bit a bit warm today!
Yesterday was a calm, sunny and humid day and very hazy. The breeze did get up for a while in the afternoon with larger waves and white horses out in the channel. The waves were just a bit too big at Almyros for me to swim although Steve had a quick dip. The day was slightly humid and led, via a monochromatic hazy sunset to a balmy evening with an almost full moon. It was still in the low twenties at 11pm.
The temperature at 10.00am on Saturday 15th. June 2019 was 24.4°C. Real feel 25°C and dew point 21°C.

Good morning from Roda. The lovely summer weather continues. We have quite a haze so that Albania has gone missing across the calm and blue sea. We have a gentle breeze cooling hot skin as we have a blazing sun in a clear blue sky. We have moved breakfast to the cooler north balcony. A perfect day for our visitors, hot but not too hot and that gentle breeze just to help keep things bearable.
Yesterday was slightly different from the preceding days in that together with the haze we had some clouds arrive. They were mostly of the thin high variety over us, but there were thicker accumulations over Albania. The sea is at lovely stage where it has a slight chill when you first get in, but oh so nice to have a swim in. We managed a couple of good swims before the afternoon breeze stirred up the waves and we got white horses out in the channel for a while. The breeze did the decent thing and died away completely and gave us a warm and humid evening, for romantics you could say balmy. The day overall was quite humid which did make it feel much hotter that the actual temperature. There were enough clouds to give us a peach coloured sunset leading onto a still hazy night with an almost full moon.
The temperature at 10.00am on Sunday 16th. June 2019 was 24.9°C. Real feel 27°C and dew point 22°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 24.3°C and the minimum 20.3°C. A day of high cloud with a storm to the south, which amounted to nothing, an orange sunset with rain sweeping across the mainland gave magical light.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 26.5°C (real feel 30°C), and the minimum was 21.1°C, a dew point of 23°C.

Good morning from Roda. This settled weather is continuing with practically clear skies, ignoring the little flimsy ones over us and the more lumpy ones over Albania. There is a gentle breeze which isn’t shifting the haze which is still dense enough to hide Albania. The temperature is slowly climbing, so it already feels warm first thing. Breakfast again on the north balcony. Yesterday was a lovely if quite humid day. The stickiness was uncomfortable for some people making it feel much hotter than it really was. What breeze we had wasn’t that helpful, except down by the sea, it easily gave up as soon as it reached any buildings. It got very cloudy in the late afternoon, masking the sun. It gave us a calm silvery sea which turned pink in the dying light of the sun. We were left with a very indistinct blob for a full moon. There were still a decent amount of fireflies dancing away in the evening light. This is photo Steve took at Almyros at the other end of St George’s Bay. There are vast numbers of painted Ladies butterflies, they rise en-masse as you drive or walk past them. He managed though to get this lovely photo of one on the flowering wild thyme, which is cloaking the dunes. We love the bee that was captured by chance. The temperature at 10.00am on Monday 17th. Good morning from Sfakera. I am covering just for today. This morning whilst there was a sea mist and haze it was much thinner than of late and the Albanian coast to the east more visable though to the north it was hidden and there was a bank of cloud in the distance. Here there were a few high white layers of cloud around which soon dispersed as the sun got up. The breeze was very gentle and the temperature started to rise quickly. You can feel both the heat and the humidity so great care should be taken if on the beach or out walking.
Yesterday as a gentle breeze picked up, with the odd stronger gust the sea mist slowly cleared; you could see the yachts in the Brindisi to Corfu race but not as clearly as in previous years. The sun was always pushing through. Big banks of fluffy clouds built up over Albania and slowly moved east. There was some cloud around in the afternoon but it increased the humidity until it began to clear. The sunset was not as spectacular as usual due to this cloud and the sea mists. There were clouds as night fell but these slowly cleared to reveal the still almost full moon and the stars. Plenty of bats are flying around now and a pleasure to watch while sat on the balcony having dinner. On the walls geckos were feasting on the moths and other insects around the lights.
The maximum temperature was 32.9c and the minimum was 22.3c.

Good morning from Roda. Thank you to Dave for stepping in with the weather report as we had to spend a couple of nights in Corfu Town. You can see from his figures it is always that bit cooler on the coast, thankfully. Summer continues with lovely sunny days, a little bit of inoffensive cloud floating around the edges, a gentle breeze and a calm sea. The humid feel is still with us as is the haze with Albania again absent from her normal place across the channel. A day for to be busy doing nothing and getting nothing done. Maybe the most exertion is lifting a cold glass of something and a cooling dip in the pool or sea. Long may it continue.
Yesterday was very much the same as the previous days. Sunshine all day, not bothered by the accumulation of some thin high clouds. The breeze came as went as it usually does, and the mist and humid feeling stayed as usual. We had the usual pink sunset and a hot and humid evening and night, especially in town! Someone was commenting on the internet about how clothes in the wardrobe here were feeling damp and swimwear was taking an age to dry, it is because the humidity is very high, so there is lots of water already in the air. Living here we have found the best way to avoid this is to have both back and front windows open as much as possible to allow a through draft. We are lucky in that we are on the first floor and can catch the breezes, I also hang clothes to dry where they will catch the most wind. The calculator I use for dew point also gives the number of days for mould to form, sometimes it can be as few as 3 days, at the moment it is two weeks in a closed atmosphere.
The temperature at 10.00am on Wednesday 19th. June 2019 was 24.8°C. Real feel 26°C and dew point 21°C.
I have no figures for yesterday but it felt like the same as the past few days feeling hot and humid.
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 25.6°C and the minimum 20.9°C. Started with spits and spots of rain before becoming heavy with a thunderstorm. Cleared to give a sunny end of the day.

We have a lovely blue sky with one or two cotton wool clouds floating around in it, a gentle breeze and it is still humid. Albania has been released from the haze and is now a series of interesting ridges lacking detail. The sea is blue and calm looking but I can hear some activity.
Yesterday was lovely all day with endless sunshine, never once interfered with by the thin high clouds that graced the sky. There were thicker, more bubbly looking clouds over the mainland. The sea was calm with just small waves coming ashore. The afternoon breeze stirred itself at the usual time and sent the ends of the parasols flapping for a while. We treated ourselves to an evening meal at the Ammos Grill room at the end of our lane and enjoyed watching the sun go down. It was a beautiful, if muted, sunset, a prelude to a clear starlit evening that was still humid and warm The fireflies were out waiting for the moon to rise later on.
The temperature at 10.00am on Thursday 20th. June 2019 was 24.7°C. Real feel 26°C and dew point 21°C.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 26.6°C (real feel 30°C), and the minimum was 21.4°C, a dew point of 23°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 26.7°C and the minimum 20.8°C. Cloudy start with spits and spots of rain then clearing to give sunshine before clouding over again with thunder rumbling and more light rain before clearing again.
