Hi all
I think I may have asked this question b4 somewhere, but I can't find it anywhere - should be working not searching through forums! lol
Is it worth doing the Speedy Boarding with Easyjet? Would it get you through check-in at Corfu any quicker, on the way home?

Hi there Jacks, Personally i would not bother with Speedy Boarding - apart from the cost it always seems a mad push/shove/ dive when boarding commences with Easyjet anyway. Dont expect Speedy Boarding would be much different - apart from the volume of people. Doubt if it would get you through check-in at Corfu any quicker - the trick it seems is just to try to get into the building through the mass of bodies outside. Save your money for a nice cocktail in Roda !

The Speedy Boarding system is designed to guarantee that passengers who pay for it are amongst the first to board the aircraft. For those who are less mobile, there may be a case for them being able to take their time, stow their hand luggage in the overhead lockers and get settled into their seats before the rest of us charge on. There advantages here too for the airline. In any case, disabled passengers get to board before everyone else (from Gate 5 at Corfu) if they say they need help when checking in. Other than that, unless someone has a preference for a particular seat on the aircraft, there seems to be little point.

The Speedy Boarding system may operate efficiently at Corfu airport but I can only speak for Newcastle airport where, whether you have paid for speedy boarding or not, it is every man and woman for themselves - we just wait for the rush to abate and to date have always managed to get a seat together or across the aisle from each other.

Hi Jackie, we paid for it the first time we flew with Easyjet just to be on the safe side - waste of money really - they board anyone needing assistance first, then anyone with children under 5, then those that have paid the extra then it's a free for all. We have always got two seats together - often three between us. As for making it easier at Corfu International Airport there is no need, because everyone is travelling independently there are very little queues because everyone tends to turn up at different times and not by the coachload, there are no reps to make you wait inline outside, We just turned up about 2.5 hours before the flight was due out, sat in the aircon inside, kept checking the board till the desk number was announced then just strolled down & checked in.. Hope this helps. pete

I think someone asked the same question last year - it was easier to write a reply to you rather than try to find the old post. pete.

Wee dilemma.....
I know nobody can give me the answer to this, cos you can never predict delays, but say the plane lands on time - 14.05, if I book a train for 17.00, do you think it's enough time to get luggage etc & to the airport train station?
I dunno whether to risk it or just for the more expensive options. :-\

Hi Jackie, as Saint says you don't usually have to wait long for your bags at Manchester, another thing to think about is this, when we used the train for a trip to London the other week, we happened to book a "anytime" train for the return journey, it was no more expensive than a ticket with a set time on it, the only thing is that you don't get reserved seats - worth a thought maybe ? pete.

I booked the speedy boarding pass this year Jackie. It was my 1st time flying with them last year as we flew from Bristol as they don't fly from Cardiff.. I didn't know much about Easy jet but I do now . The speedy boarding pass will hopefully get me the last seats at the back of the plane, hopefully by the toilet as there is only 2 seats and a bit of leg room for me .. Last year it was like an Olympic event getting onto the plane, everyone running to get seats after the speedy boarders went 1st, disabled 2nd and parents with kids next then everyone else it was a free for all.. It was even worse coming back as we was a late night flight and we were delayed. Manic is an understatement ..

Hi Jacks. We use Manchester Airport all the time. When we arrive back by the time we taxi to the terminal it is about 1855. We have always made it for the 1955 train to Sheffield. They are very good with luggage. Hope this helps. Bev.

Jacks when we book our train tickets they tell me as they know planes can be delayed they will give lee way to people. We were told if we got a chit from the airline to say we were delayed and it runs into next day our tickets would be ok. I don't know if this is for only Sheffield services or all trains from Manchester Airport. I always book my tickets for the airport at a train station as talking one to one I get the best deals and advice. Good luck. Bev
