I still haven't managed to get a photo of the roofing work happening at the Summerlife Apartments on Road 2., but all the roofs are either stripped of their tiles or in the process of getting them relaid. There does appear to be work happening to the apartment block opposite but very slowly.
The major surprise was the work happening at Blue Lagoon just outside Roda on the Acharavi road. Workers were busy reroofing some of the apartments, whilst others seem to have been srtiped back to basics. The bushes and bamboo around the complex has been cut down as well. It is really good to see this complex being regenerated after having laid The semi derilict for years. I have talked to people who were in these apartments last season and said they were very good, and the pool was lovely. The lack of a bar didn't worry them. The photos are not the best I will try and get nearer next time I'm passing by.

A bridal shop has opened in Roda opposite the Tropicana on the Sfakera road. I wish it well, as far as I am aware it will be the only one to the north of Corfu Town and could become a destination shop. It had some lovely bridal dresses as well as bridesmaids and all the accessories. I think maybe the suit was for completeness sake. It was good to see the butcher open again. I will ahve to go and sample the meat there.

I was up at the Oasis Hotel yesterday, and they were busy digging out the ground to put in the private pools for some of the rooms. It involved getting rid of trees and palms as well as moving waterpipes from the well and electrical cables as the generator is in that area. At the moment it is very much a work in progress with mounds of earth everywhere.
We have lost several of the palm trees along the beach between the Aphrodite Hotel and Skouna, they had been devastated by the dreaded palm weevil. Hopefully they will be replaced.
I was pleased to see that the potholes had been repaired, or rather filled. My friends and I joke about the man with a bucket going round to fill them. OK they won't last long but at least the potholes are away for a while. The best bit was the huge hole at the start of the road to Theodoros, from the crossroads, has been dealt with.
Yammas has opened, having moved from the beach road in Acharavi to the former home of Kalamki, they are open from midday to 5pm with a take-away menu which varied each day. I heard that they intend to have a seating area for the summer.
There is work happening at the Silver Beach with a pile of decorative stone blocking the entrance and several workmen around.
The work is continuing at the Coral, with the scaffolding still inplace round the main building.
Roberto at Seaport is busy as well, with works behind the front of house.
Summerlife has now got workmen replacing all the veranda roofs, and continuingwith the re-roofing.
Work at the Villa Maria seems to have halted for now.
Alexandros has posted redecorated and re-furnished their studio rooms, in muted creams, looking much changed.

On my walk yesterday we passed by the Amorossa complex, just outside Roda on the Acharavi side on the beach road. It is undergoing a complete refurbishment with windows and doors removed. It is the first time I have seen the site safety rules posted on any property undergoing building! It will be interesting to see the end result. It would be lovely to see the same happen to the Roda Inn. I understand a relative did come last year and try and evict Adonis who is living there with his cat colony.
