Good morning from Roda. It was a cold and damp start to the morning, all the surfaces were wet so there must have been some rain during the night. It was very cloudy first thing but blue patches are developing and the sun is trying very hard to break through, and has just succeeded! There is very little wind and the sea looks and sounds calm. Albania is absent from across the channel and our hills are mere outlines. It is generally cold and damp feeling though. Hopefully the sun will put paid to that as it warms up.
Yesterday was miserable mostly, it was very damp with episodes of mizzle (spotting in the wind) and longer spells of drizzle. The clouds were playing chase up and down our mountains and Albania had decided she had had enough and disappeared for most of the day. It did start to stay drier as the day progressed giving us a dry evening. There was a small peach blush at sunset to mark the event. The evening sky had a few breaks in the clouds to show a few stars. Visibility was good in that the lights of Albania were shining bright across the channel.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Monday 12th February 2018 was 9.2°C, real feel 8°C, and the humidity 75% giving a dew point of 4°C.
Sorry I have no more records of last year's temperatures.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 11.7°C (real feel 9°C), and the minimum was 10.0°C , the dew point 8°C. The maximum humidity was 77% and the minimum 68%. The reported UV for today is 3 ( Range 1- 11+).
UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around the summer solstice).
The maximum temperature recorded by us in Roda in 2017 was 31.9°C (real feel 34°C) on 29th June The maximum recorded temperature ever in Corfu was 42.8°C The lowest recorded temperature was -8.8°C

Good morning from Roda. Boy what a storm we had overnight, fierce winds, thunder, lightning and driving rain. The wind changed direction so we had driving rain on opposing balconies. It was so fierce that it drove rain under the balcony door to the bedroom. What we woke to was a different world. The storm had increased the overnight temperature raising several degrees to a mild 11.6°C. OK we still have the strong wind, but the sky has cleared a bit and we have sunshine. On the sheltered south balcony we enjoyed breakfast. Went to check the north balcony and got blown back into the house! That wind is cold, blowing as it is direct from the snow fields on the mountains opposite. The sea is majestically wild, with Albania quite clear across this stormy channel nestling under a blanket of white cloud. Our hills are free of cloud this morning, for which those living in the high villages will be thankful for.
Yesterday was a day that varied from being extremely wet to being barely dry with heavy black clouds threatening to dump more water on us. The wind was persistent all day, only occasionally easing to lull us into a false sense of security. The fog and murk and heavy clouds spent the best part of the day trundling down the mountain sides trying to reach sea level. The ones covering Albania were making a bid to join the two countries. It was a generally very cold feeling day. The thunder started late afternoon/ early evening combined with torrential rain. We stayed home watching the lightning flashes lit up the living room. It was one of Corfu's best. The water courses will be in full spate today as they were doing a good imitation yesterday and a lot more rain has fallen since then. Our garden is almost completely waterlogged. We like these amazing storms here and the rain, it gives us the beautiful green island we love together with all the beautiful wild flowers.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Wednesday 14th February 2018 was 10.4°C, real feel 7°C, and the humidity 71% giving a dew point of 5°C.

Good morning from Roda. It was wet overnight and the drizzle continued for a while once we were up. Now it is bright but cloudy. There is little in the way of wind and the sea is flat calm. Albania is reasonably clear across the channel with further fresh snow on the peaks. Our hills are also clear and free from cloud at the moment. It is chilly though and not expected to warm up that much, but it is expected to remain fairly dry for the rest of the day. We expect sun tomorrow for a few days.
Yesterday spent the morning sorting itself out after the mega storm. The sky gradually cleared to give us a 50/50 mix of clear sky and cloud. So we did have some lovely spells of sunshine which was warm enough to sit out in a sheltered spot. The strong wind did gradually die down to be almost gone by the end of the day. The maximum temperature though for the day occurred in the small hours when we had the storm! There were some big waves breaking on the shore, but further out it was much calmer. The fresh snow on the Albanian peaks was dazzling in the sunshine. There were snow capped peaks for the whole of the Albanian mainland that we can see. It looked beautiful. By evening we had a cloudy sky after a sunset I missed, not sure there was anything to report though. So we ended up with a clear, cloudy and windless night.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Thursday 15th February 2018 was 9.0°C, real feel 8°C, and the humidity 71% giving a dew point of 4°C.

Good afternoon from Roda. It was way too bright for the time when we woke up. Peering out the windows we had a clear, cloudless blue sky, with the sun just rising over the mountains behind us. The sea is a sparkling blue and calm. Albania is a picture of alpine beauty with all the snow on the mountain tops. I don't think I have seen as much snow over there before. there is the merest of breezes, so breakfast was enjoyed on the balcony in the morning sun. A light jacket was all that was needed for our morning shopping trip in Acharvi. Report was delayed as I had an appointment at the hairdressers. Yesterday started off quite damp and proceeded to give the odd mizzly spell for a while. As we were eating our late lunch we were watching the sea turn from fairly calm, through pretty white horses to big white crested very noisy waves. The wind increased at the same time to be quite strong. By this time the sky had cleared itself of clouds apart from a few decorating the snowy caps of the mountains opposite. The sunset was a exercise in pasted pinks and lilacs. Leading onto a clear star lit night. the wind had dropped away by 10pm, but the waves persisted.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Friday 16th February 2018 was 9.1°C, real feel 9°C, and the humidity 68% giving a dew point of 3°C.

Yesterday stayed clear and sunny all day. The sea was calm with some waves hitting the shore. The wind stayed gentle all day. It was just a day to enjoy the beautiful scenery with the alpine views over towards Albania. Sunset came with a pink flushing of all the mountains both here and Albania, the snow covered sides looking rosy. I am signing off for a while as we go back to the UK, but Dave has kindly said he will continue bringing you the report.

Good morning from Sfakera, a mild night with a calm sea was ideal for Steve and Jan on their ferry to Italy. This morning we wake to total cloud, mild, a heavy dew and grey. So grey visability is poor, the sea blends into the clouds, the mist, humidity and clouds hide both Albania and our own peaks. No breeze to speak of and 10c at 9am.
Yesterday was a glorious day, lovely sunshine, clear views over snow capped Albania with just the odd gust of wind. Small waves, very pleasant on the beach at Almiros, which was busier than usual. If sat directly in the sun you could soon feel the warmth through a jumper. As sunset arrived so the clouds started to roll in giving a cloudy evening with the stars and thin crescent moon disappearing before 11pm.
The maximum temperature was 16.2c, the minimum 6.8c.
A new weather front is rolling in and the week ahead is forecast to be very wet and colder.

Good morning from Sfakera and a happy Clean Monday to you all as Lent begins. It is a miserable morning here, overnight rains and now a constant drizzle that rustles the trees. Cloud everywhere with mist and haze, in the olive groves, half way down our peaks, over the sea. Visability is poor, Albania has vanished. I doubt many will venture out to fly their kites today not just due to the rain but also the lack of breeze. Picnics will all be indoors! It is however a mild 10.8c at 8.30am.
Yesterday was predominantly cloudy, with a few short glimpses of sun around midday. A light wind also picked up. It did stay dry for Carnival and was mild so fine out if wearing a jacket but probably chilly for some in their fancy dress. The visability did improve but from Sfakera you could only see a hint of the outline of the Albanian coast. Come nightfall a few breaks in the clouds to reveal some stars but as night progressed so the clouds thickened again.
The maximum temperature was 14.1c, the minimum 8.9c.

Good morning from Sfakera, more the same. Nightime rains leave it wet, light breeze. No haze or low clouds over olive groves but Albania still missing. The sky almost black as i look out towards the sea. A mild 10.7c at 8am.
Yesterday was a grizzly day, grey all day with just the hint of sun trying to get through around 11am. Lots of heavy drizzle prior to then, it stayed dry in the afternoon and a light wind picked up allowing time for a bit of kite flying. By late afternoon it was getting greyer and we had more heavy drizzle on and off from just before 6pm until after 9pm and then again during the night.
The maximum temperature was 12.8c, the minimum 10.6c.

Good morning from Sfakera, a mild but damp morning, a dark grey sea, clouds dominate the skies and Albania, due snow to replenish their melting peaks, is still invisible. A light shower at 8.50am but mild 12c at 9am. There is a light breeze and now at 9.30 it starts to rain again.
Yesterday was a mixed bag, early sun over Agros and Roda but black skies around. This gave way to drizzle, heavy at times. By late morning it stopped, odd glimpses of sun then the drizzle returned giving a low dim rainbow over the sea. The sun vanished it darkened, needing house lights on at 2pm, and light rains fell, then heavier on and off until by 9pm it was a thunderstorm. This passed leaving rains until gone 2am. During the afternoon i couldn't even see the sea from my balcony let alone Albania!
The maximum temperature was 13.7c, the minimum was 10.7c.

Good morning from Sfakera where it is clearing after rains through the night, still air, some blue skies and sunny intervals. Albania is visible but capped in clouds. 11.2c at 10am, time to dry up after yesterday.
Yesterday the rains began at 9.30am and continued through until 2.45pm,often heavy. When it stopped we had a half hour of warming sunshine but then the wind picked up and more dark clouds rolled in. By 4pm it was raining, light at first but soon heavy. There were a few lulls between the showers which carried on all evening, turning into a thunderstorm after 10pm. I finally stopped sometime in the early hours. The evidence this morning is flooded gardens, overflowing ditches, water running down channels fom the olive groves and the streams growing in size and power.
The maximum temperature was 14.2c, the minimum was 10.1c.

Good morning from Sfakera where it is a mild morning, 12.5c at 10am, with thin very high sheets of cloud and some blue. It is still, the sea now blue and Albania is back, very clear with fresh snow on its mountains. The sun is only just breaking through.
Yesterday morning was sunny but there was a large conglomeration of dark grey clouds to the SE which by midday hid the sun here. I went to Acharavi where it was still sunny and time i was home the clouds had moved sufficiently for the sun to return, as did Albania but the clouds remained over their peaks. A glorious afternoon, sat in the sun you ciuld feel the warmth coming through your fleece. Low clouds prevented any kind of sunset and these clouds slowly increased but the half moon shone through, with a circle of light around it enclosed in a creamy coloured circle. It really was a lovely sight.
The maximum temperature was 16.8c, the minimum was 10.1c.

Good morning from a wet Sfakera, there was heavy rain during the night until around 6am, it then briefly cleared with sun on the Albanian coast some blue skies but dark to the SW. Just after 9am it darkened and a heavy drizzle began. It looks like it will be ongoing for some time. A mild 12c at 9am.
Yesterday it remained cloudy during the morning with a hazy sun just showing through, but enough to push the temperature up. In the afternoon we had a few sunny intervals but the high clouds were always around, a warm breeze helped as well. As night fell the clouds initially partially cleared to reveal the moon and some stars but by midnight the clouds were rolling in.
The maximum temperature was 19.4c and the minimum 10.8c.

Good morning from Sfakera where it is a eet and grey cloudy start to the day. The clouds a bit higher than yesterday but still we only see the lower slopes of Albania but our peaks are clear. A light breeze and a mild 11.3c at 9am. The sea looks grey but calm. A shower in the early hours and a brief shower around 9.20am.
Yesterday the rains were on and off (mostly on) through till just before 2pm, drizzle and light rains with gusts of wind. Even when it stopped you could still feel the damp in the air if walking. The clouds were low down over our peaks almost down to Lafki and Ag Pantelemion. The afternoon was mainly dry with odd drizzle. As night fell so the clouds cleared to give a starlit sky with just the odd cloud. However by midnight the clouds were again rolling in. It stayed chilly all day.
The maximum temperature was 12.5c, the minimum was 10.7c.
