Worth looking in to, Dave - but the UV could be very high for starters. Be diligent with the cream!

It’s another hot one in Roda, with high & hazy cloud and Albania being little more than a vague smudge on the horizon. There is a breeze though, and that may win over humidity as the day proceeds.
Yesterday began with a little more cloud which increased by lunchtime and became quite substantial by mid afternoon. After that, the sun fought back and it did become variable, but with the occasional spot of rain from nowhere. There was a mild maistro blowing from the northwest, but we’re still getting some orange dust from the south, carried down from the upper atmosphere by the raindrops. The evening sunburst, through the rain-laden clouds, was spectacular.
The readings at 10am on Tuesday 21st. June 2016 are:-
Temperature 26°C and humidity 71%. The dew point (how humid it feels) is 21°C, the temperature at which some start to feel uncomfortable. Yesterday's maximum temperature was 25.7°C and the minimum was 22.3°C
The maximum humidity was 74% and the minimum 62% 21st. June 2015:- Maximum temperature 23.1°C, Minimum 18.1°C, Maximum UV 9.
The reported UV for today is 7 ( Range 1- 11+), so a lower UV than last year, but with higher temperatures. But don’t be fooled as it is hot in the sun, so take care and apply that sunscreen and seek shade around noon.
UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around the summer solstice). The maximum recorded temperature ever in Corfu was 42.8°C in 2007.

Good morning from a sunny Roda. There is a steady breeze from the sea and the smudge that was Albania is still there. All our wonderful Corfiot colours are less clear this morning and the hills behind us are decidedly milky. There is not a cloud to be seen and it could well be a hot & sticky day.
Yesterday was also hazy, lazy, hot & crazy, and only the wind saved us from the moisture-laden atmosphere. There was little or nothing in the way of discernable cloud, but you got the feeling that it was dispersed evenly throughout the air. There were some big seas as the maistro reached its peak and St George’s Bay has been littered with canes that were washed out to sea in the recent storm.
The readings at 10am on Wednesday 22nd. June 2016 are:-
Temperature 24.6°C and humidity 77% - lower than yesterday, but with RH 6% higher. The dew point (how humid it feels) at 23°C, is described as ‘very humid, quite uncomfortable.’ Yesterday's maximum temperature was 28.6°C and the minimum was 20.6°C
The maximum humidity was 76% and the minimum 69%, showing very little variation right across the period. 22nd. June 2015:- Maximum temperature 23.8°C, Minimum 17.2°C, Maximum UV 9.
The reported UV for today is 8 ( Range 1- 11+). It is hot in the sun, take care and apply that sunscreen and seek shade around noon.
UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around the summer solstice). Remember that the wind is deceptive – there are a lot of very pink bodies around at the moment. The maximum recorded temperature ever in Corfu was 42.8°C in 2007.

Hello again from Roda where the colour of the sky is matched only by the blue of the chicory that is flowering everywhere. There was a little thin, high cloud out to the west this morning, but that seems to have burnt off now and it’s clear in every direction. The maistro has eased, but the breeze persists, as do the waves rolling in from the north-west. You do have to look for Albania, but it is there – I think!
Yesterday afternoon, the clear skies gave way to strange remnants of cloud, all puffy & fluffy as they went scudding across the sky at a rate of knots. The seas picked up considerably and the clouds became more persistent, but they’d eased by sunset and they settled in for the night with reflections of an orange sunset.
The readings at 10am on Thursday 23rd. June 2016 are:-
Temperature 24.8°C and humidity a very high 81%. The dew point (how humid it feels) is a comfortable 19°C. Strangely, our weather is significantly different than a station on the other side of Pantokrator, where their temperatures are higher, but their humidity way down at 46%. Perhaps it is to do with wind direction & altitude, but they are normally much closer to us in Roda. Yesterday's maximum temperature was 25.9°C and the minimum was 21.1°C
The maximum humidity was 79% and the minimum 71%. 23rd. June 2015:- Maximum temperature 24.2°C, Minimum very low at 16.1°C, Maximum UV 8.
The maximum recorded temperature ever in Corfu was 42.8°C in 2007.

Our highest temperature of 25.90C was evidently not high enough for some people. One report I heard said it was 390C! We have entered that time of year when we disagree about about shade temperatures, humidity & realfeel. Ah, yes - I remember it well! One thing is for sure - it feels very hot today.

My weather online shows Corfu today as 93f (33.9c). Those readings reportedly come from around town north as far as Gouvia. It seems their temperatures are always higher than those in Roda; due no doubt to Pantocrator being in between; much less sea breeze (it rarely blows in from the East). Your readings are great as they give the local situation but it does seem that Roda is generally not as hot as a lot of places as the temps you show are less than what are issued as average temps for the Island. As you are giving a guide for tourists to Roda it is of much greater interest to see a local report rather than a temperature from another part of the Island. And of course when the tourist sits out on the beach in the direct sun it is a lot hotter than being in the shade even if they do use an umbrella.

Our north-westerly sea breezes do certainly have a cooling effect, Dave - very welcome when the temperatures start rising. I assume that the UV is the same across the islanad and it is at its highest about now. I imagine that away from the windward coasts, the temperatures will be a lot higher. I think that parasols do add to the cooling effect as, for the technically minded, I believe they create a venturi effect which speeds up the breeze even more. I stood briefly today under a large canopy at The Brandy Shop and there was no doubt that it was significantly cooler than just standing in the shade.

As clear as you can see, as far as you can see – those are the skies here in Roda this morning. The clouds seem to have opted out of European skies for the time being. Visibility remains a bit vague though, and with all this moisture in the air, who knows what might develop later. The maistro has died down a bit this morning, but it looks as though the north-westerly’s are set to be with us for a while longer.
Yesterday was clammy – sticky & moist, unless, yacht-like, you could catch the breeze and sail into cooler areas. My favourite temperature range is between 28-32°C, but even at the lower end, yesterday was verging on the uncomfortable due to the high humidity. It is this humidity that leads to all the exaggerated claims of much higher temperatures, a problem exacerbated by some of the thermometers around the village that are poorly sited.
The readings at 10am on Friday 24th. June 2016 are:-
Temperature 27.7°C and humidity 69%. The dew point (how humid it feels) is quoted at 18°C in Korakiana, but I think it is higher than that in Roda. Yesterday's maximum temperature was 27.9°C and the minimum was 20.5°C
The maximum humidity was 83% and the minimum 79% - very little variation at all, but making it feel more like 320C at its peak. 16th. June 2015:- Maximum temperature 26.7°C, Minimum 19.4°C, Maximum UV 9.
Kalimera from Roda, where someone has tried, unsuccessfully, to spray our gorgeous blue skies with a flash of high white cloud this morning. They were not very good as it not changing things much. There is still a breeze, but it seems, for now, to have switched direction to the north-east. However, the flags are fluttering and the day should be a good one.
Yesterday was hot, hot hot! Apart from a few fluffies across the mainland, we had clear blue skies all day. Overnight it was very warm and even the owls couldn’t sleep, or are they nocturnal? Well I don’t doubt that some our visitors were too, as sheets & blankets were probably discarded. Let’s hope they used plenty of mozzie measures! At midnight, it was still 25.50C!
The readings at 10am on Saturday 25th. June 2016 are:-
Temperature 28.1°C and humidity 55% - a lot lower than yesterday. The dew point (how humid it feels) is a comfortable 18°C. Yesterday's maximum temperature was 31°C and the minimum was 21.7°C
The maximum humidity was 75% and the minimum 71%. That persistent humidity made it feel more like 390C. I imagine it was the hottest day of the year so far. 25th. June 2015:- Maximum temperature 24.2°C, Minimum 18°C, Maximum UV 8.
The reported UV for today is 8 ( Range 1- 11+). It is hot in the sun, take care and apply that sunscreen and seek shade around noon.

Good morning from Roda. All’s calm here today, the skies are mainly blue with some high cloud circling around the edges of our view. The cicadas are happily chirruping and the birds are singing, but I can hear nothing else. Even the dogs and chickens are settling down for another hot one.
Yesterday was a day for slowing down, taking everything more lazily to avoid becoming a bit moist around our own edges. It was calm and hot, with a little high & hazy cloud. The seas were still moderate, but swimming was essential to keep cool. It was thirsty work! In the evening, the clouds gathered more seriously and the wind whipped up for a while from the south-west. It had all the makings of a squall, and then it went away. The wind direction caused all the moist air to accumulate in the east over Kassiopi & Sarande, but it’s all gone this morning.
The readings at 10am on Sunday 26th. June 2016 are:-
Temperature 25.8°C and humidity 68%. The dew point (how humid it feels) is 20°C, edging towards the less comfortable band. Yesterday's maximum temperature was 32.1°C and the minimum was 23.5°C
The maximum humidity was 68% and the minimum 54% - a common range for Roda at this time of year. 26th. June 2015:- Maximum temperature 23.8°C, Minimum 17.1°C, Maximum UV 9.
The reported UV for today is 8 ( Range 1- 11+). It is hot in the sun, take care and apply that sunscreen and seek shade around noon. Kalimera from Roda, and another Kali Mera it looks like being. The air is so still and the sea just lapping at the shore. The only sounds are the birds chirping as they frantically collect the insects in the calm air. Lets hope they are not eating all those moths that have been released to prey on the mozzies! At the moment blue is the colour, so let’s hope it stays that way.
Yesterday it started off just the same, but the sun faded a little by late morning until the afternoon breeze got into gear when the clear skies returned. Even though it was cooler than Saturday, it was a very hot evening.
The readings at 10am on Thursday 27th. June 2016 are:-
Temperature 25.7°C and humidity 73%. The dew point (how humid it feels) is reported as being 23°C – which will be well into the less comfortable zone when the temperature rises a little more. Yesterday's maximum temperature was 27.2°C and the minimum was 22.2°C
The maximum humidity was 73% and the minimum 63%, giving us real feel, at its peak, of 29°C 27th. June 2015:- Maximum temperature 22.5°C, Minimum 18.2°C, Maximum UV 7.
The reported UV for today is 9 ( Range 1- 11+). It is hot in the sun, take care and apply that sunscreen and seek shade around noon.
UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around the summer solstice). There is a very high risk of burning today. The maximum recorded temperature ever in Corfu was 42.8°C in 2007.

Good morning from Roda where the weather is, as yet, undecided. We started the day with fluffy clouds coming in from the west, like a plethora of Greek islands floating across the sky. Since then, the sea has woken up and pushed all the clouds towards Pantokrator, where they are doing their best to hide all the hills. It’s very unusual for this time of day and who knows if they will intensify later? I watched a Swallow dive-bombing a Little Owl on a bale of hay earlier … maybe the birds know what is on the way weather-wise.
Yesterday’s skies were the clear blue that lifts the soul, as everyone settled in for a lazy day. At dusk, there was an eerie stillness that just didn’t seem right – maybe a precursor of this morning’s strange conditions. At dusk, the clouds on the mainland descended to sea level, leaving only the peaks of Albania to emerge, Nessie-like, our of the haze. A lonely Scops Owl rang out like a beacon of hope on a becalmed sea … all very moving!
The readings at 10am on Tuesday 28th. June 2016 are:-
Temperature 26°C and humidity 74%. The dew point (how humid it feels) at 22°C, implies there is stickiness to come. Yesterday's maximum temperature was 28.1°C (feeling more like 32°C) and the minimum was 21.9°C
The maximum humidity was 76% and the minimum 66% 28th. June 2015:- Maximum temperature 24.4°C, Minimum 18.9°C, Maximum UV 7.
The reported UV for today is 9 ( Range 1- 11+), please use lots of cream, and use it often. It is hot in the sun, take care and seek shade around noon.
UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around the summer solstice). The maximum recorded temperature ever in Corfu was 42.8°C in 2007.

Good morning from Roda where the skies are blue, the temperature rising and the breeze cooling. It has all the makings of a perfect day. There are no white horses out at sea, but the waves are still crashing on the shore. Albania is more visible than it has been for several days.
Yesterday saw the hills behind the village chopped off at the tops like boiled eggs. As the cloud built, so did the wind, presumable the effect of driving moist sea air up the mountainside. By mid-afternoon, the sea was raging and hatches needed battening down before our possessions followed the moist air to Pantokrator.
The readings at 10am on Wednesday 29th.June 2016 are:-
Temperature 25°C and humidity 73%. The dew point (how humid it feels) is borderline at 20°C. Yesterday's maximum temperature was 27.3°C and the minimum was 21.6°C

A gentle breeze, the hint of a wave, a calmer sea and blue skies in all directions. Good morning from Roda on the last day of June. There’s a lone chicken laying an egg somewhere, and a single visitor wandering along the seafront – the only signs of activity anywhere at the moment, but we’ll all be out later enjoying a glorious day.
Yesterday revealed that Albania has been there all the time, and everyone was in a relaxed mood as the maistro abated, the seas moderated and the visibility improved. The recent haziness took time off and the sky became bluer than ever.
The readings at 10am on Thursday 30th. June 2016 are:-
Temperature 24.1°C and humidity 74%. The dew point (how humid it feels) is edging higher at 21°C, adding a degree or two to the way it feels. Yesterday's maximum temperature was 28°C and the minimum was 21.3°C

Light breeze, light seas, a vague outline of Albania and blue sky in every direction … ‘kalomina’ from Roda – have a very happy month! After a few weeks of unpredictable weather, we finally seem to have settled into the normal summer rhythm.
Yesterday, the winds eased back to give us a lazy sea, recovering from the last maistro and waiting for the next one. There was a little cloud on the mainland where the mountains are higher, and small streaks of high cloud attempted to break away in our direction, but they failed miserably and the sun won the battle.
The readings at 10am on Friday 1st July 2016 are:-
Temperature 24°C and humidity 76%. The dew point (how humid it feels) at 21°C, is hovering at the edge of the comfort zone. Yesterday's maximum temperature was 25.3°C and the minimum was 21.1°C
The maximum humidity was 76% and the minimum 62% 1st July 2015:- Maximum temperature 25.4°C, Minimum 18.6°C, Maximum UV 9, much the same as today, but cooler at night.
