Good morning from Roda. It is absolutely drop dead gorgeous here today. We have a deep blue sky with only the hint of thin high clouds above us. Across the amazing deep blue sea, which has rollers breaking on the shore, stands Albania in dazzling clarity. There are one or two fluffy clouds playing with the peaks over there. We have barely a breeze, and we had sat having breakfast with the temperature in the sun a heady 38°C.
Yesterday, overall, was not too bad a day. We did get some cloudier cooler spells, but we also had nice long sunny ones. It was not warm enough to eat dinner on the balcony so we postponed it till the evening. There were enough clouds to give us a very pretty sunset, leading into a dark starlit night. However the numbers were down indicating there was some cloud up there. The sea remained calm all day, what small rollers there had been fading to ripples by night.

Good morning from Roda. It is such a lovely morning here. The report is a bit delayed because we were chatting with our neighbour, Jayne, in the warm sunshine, and watching her new puppy playing on the lawn. We have some clouds but nothing that is spoiling the sunshine. There is a gentle breeze, just enough to waft the washing drying on the line. We can hear waves coming ashore, but not enough for white horses. Albania is still retaining its clarity and we are not far behind.
Yesterday stayed gorgeous all day. We had a lovely walk through the village enjoying it. Though you do have to stay on the sunny side of the street. It did get windier in the afternoon and those pretty sea horses raised their lovely heads. But, by evening the wind and the waves were dying down and the wind felt almost warm! The sunset was of the pastel variety, very pretty We had a very pleasant walk to and from Pirates, not cold at all. The stars were out in force and the wind had gone.

Good morning from Roda. It is another lovely morning here if you can get out of the strong wind. That wind has swung round to the north and has dropped the humidity giving us a great air clarity. There are a few fluffy white clouds around. We have a deep blue/ green with many white horse out in the channel and large white topped waves coming ashore. Not a day for taking the beach road to Acharavi, as I think the waves will be washing stones across it. The temperature is doing funny things, in that it was rising during the night peaking at 14.2°C, only going down to 10.8°C at dawn.
Yesterday was mostly a good day. We had plenty of sunshine and the breeze remained gentle all day. We had increasing cloud cover as the day progressed giving us a truly spectacular sunset. My regret is that my camera just fails to do it any justice so Steve and I just stood on our front balcony and watched it in awe. The whole sky was a riot of reds and oranges, with different types of clouds providing shade and texture. Mother earth at its most wonderful. The stars did come out to play, but we did had a few drops of rain mid- evening for our walk back from the village.

Good morning from Roda. Despite the storm we had last night it is a lovely morning here. We have blue skies, lots of sunshine, great air clarity and the winds that roared last night have abated to something more gentle. The sea is still roaring with quite large waves still coming ashore. But that sea does look spectacular with the deep blue/ greens and the white foaming tips of the waves. We enjoyed our breakfast outside in dressing gowns it was nice and warm in the sun sheltered from that cool breeze. The humidity levels are so low, that even with the low temperatures there was no condensation on our windows this morning. The dew point being -5°C. It is very cold up in the mountains with Petalia at only around 3°C and a report of some snowflakes falling. There does seem to be a slight fresh covering on some of the higher peaks of Albania.
Yesterday started off very nice indeed and we had lovely weather up until early afternoon, but the clouds were steadily building from the north. By around 4pm the clouds had increased so much that we had total coverage. We had a short sharp heavy shower of rain. The wind had seriously picked up and was howling, and we watched the storm raging in the channel. The waves were rolling in thick and fast. Albania had all but disappeared in the murk. We had to batten down the hatches as the wind tore one of our shutters from its holding clip. No damage done though. So we wisely decided to stay in and not walk into the village. The temperature was falling rapidly with a 3/4°C chill factor reported. The noise from the raging sea and wind, plus all the rattles of shutters and things moving around outside would keep some people awake. Not us! One unfortunate by-product of the storms were the frequent power cuts we had. Apparently two power lines had become dislodged with the wind and were rubbing against each other causing the shorts and hence the blackouts. There were only two engineers for the whole of the north of the island, but they did fix it in the end. We thought we would be cooking dinner in the camper. It is essential here in Corfu that you have torches and battery powered lanterns and small gas camping stoves handy for these power cuts. So we could still have our cups of tea whilst waiting for the power to come back on.

Good morning from Roda. It is a lovely morning here, but very cold. It is the first morning in a long time that we have not had breakfast on the balcony! There is a lovely blue sky, lots of sunshine, a cold breeze and great visibility. The sea has calmed down quite a bit, though there are still some waves coming ashore. However, we have lost the constant roar that we have had for the last few days. There is only a few tiny clouds clinging to the Albanian peaks, but ours are cloud free even if a little hazy. The air is so dry that the dew point is at -9°C at the moment. The weather stations say the actual temperature and the 'feels like' temperature are the same, but I beg to differ. It feels a lot cooler that what the thermometer says!
Yesterday was a lovely day, if a bit on the cool side. There was a need to fight for the chairs in the sun inside the cafe. After such an eventful stormy night, with snow reported in some parts and gust of 60mph in others, yesterday was quite a calm day. The winds and the sea were abating quite quickly, though it did remain cool. There were a few clouds building up to give us a moderately lovely sunset, and we were back to the usual starlit night. We feel fortunate in that the mainland and Athens are getting snow, and the Greek ski resorts also have snow. Many of the bar/ restaurant staff from Corfu go to the ski resorts for the winter to work after they end the season here. Well those that do not have to help with the olives etc.

Good morning from Roda. May I wish everyone a happy and healthy 2017. Speaking for Steve and myself we have had a wonderful year, visiting so many wonderful places and seeing such beautiful scenery that 2017 will have to be going some to equal it, let alone beat it. Though we do have a couple of great trips lined up for the spring. A return trip to the Uk encompassing Italy, Austria, Germany, France, Luxembourg and Belgium. Then our big spring holiday where we will start from Normandy, travel along the Atlantic coast of France to Spain, across northern Spain to Barcelona and explore the Catalan area. Then hug the coast of France to Italy, down the coast to the Cinque Terre, across to Arezzo, then Easter in Pompeii, Paestum and Puglia to get the ferry at Bari. Back to the important weather. It is another bright but cold morning here. We have a blue sky dotted with some clouds and some thin high streaky stuff. There is a cold but gentle breeze, the sea is calm and deep blue with only gentle waves coming ashore. We have great air clarity so Albania is in sharp focus across the channel, but we are still a bit hazy. It was warm enough in the sun to go back to eating breakfast on the balcony.
Yesterday stayed lovely but cold all day. There was some cloud build up, not too much, that gave us a lovely sunset. Even though they are cold, these bright sunny days give us wonderful views of our surrounding seas and mountains. The cold wasn't helped by the fact that we had a90 minute power cut just as we were thinking of having a nice warm cup of tea. Then our gas container on the little camp stove gave out, so we headed for Alaxandros and the warmth of their Somba. The lights were out from Acharavi to Mitsis Roda Beach(they had generators though), even Episkepsi looked less bright than usual. We had one street light and discovered that the light on the corner of Makris apartments was solar powered! The power came on and we headed back under the stars to heat our curry up.

Good afternoon from Roda. Another late report had to go and see the doctor to get my prescription before I leave. My cholesterol is down, I think due to the Greek diet. It was a glorious morning with wall to wall clear skies, any clouds were too shy to make an appearance. It was a bit breezy and the sea was rough. Some of the snow has gone from the Albanian peaks but what there was gleamed in the morning sun. The low humidity is giving us lovely clear views across the channel.
Yesterday was not a bad day at all. It started off a bit cloudy but the sun won and we had a lovely afternoon, with only an occasional cloud passing. The sun set was fairly average monochromic, but lovely non-the-less. The sea was rough all day with long rollers hitting the shore with enough force that we could feel the spray! The evening was chilly, even cold in that wind. There was a lovely half moon and lots of stars joining all the lights round the bay. A bracing walk back from the village.
The temperature at 10am on Thursday 14th. February was 7.2°C, real feel 10°C, and the humidity was 53% giving a dew point of -2°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 11.1°C and the minimum 4.6°C. The storm had gone leaving a windy and cloudy day.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 11.3°C (real feel 8°C), and the minimum was 5.1°C , a dew point of -1°C.
The maximum humidity was 65% and the minimum 41%.

Good afternoon from Roda. Very busy with getting ready for our trip back to the UK. The weather has been kind to us with a nice sunny morning, lovely and warm for having breakfast on the balcony. There were few clouds around but not getting in the way. The views of Albania are still fantastic, though much of the snow has melted. The sea is still quite rough with creamy headed rollers coming ashore, but the wind has dropped away completely which is something. Last of the washing out on the line.
Yesterday stayed lovely all day with hardly a cloud in the sky, those that did appear were tiny wispy things. The sea remained rough, and getting rougher as the day wore on. There was a major change with the wind, it suddenly blew up sending my sensors and thermometer flying on the balcony. There was a door banging away in the flat next to ours which was all locked up. It was a wild walk into the village for dinner. There was another lovely but monochromatic sunset followed by a starlit sky with a bright half moon shining. The wind did ease a bit during the evening but still blowing the trees around by the late evening. The temperature was a mild 14°C at 1030pm but felt much colder.
The temperature at 10am on Friday 15th. February was 13.7°C, real feel 16°C, and the humidity was 63% giving a dew point of 7°C.
