Good morning from Roda. We awoke to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore and the wind whistling through the wires. It is a bright sunny day with some clouds. It is windy with some quite strong gusts, so we have a rough sea, almost jade green in colour, topped by white crested waves. The air clarity is good towards Albania, which can be seen in great detail, with more snow capping some of the further peaks. Our backdrop on the other hand is quite hazy. It is mild but feels a bit chilly if standing in the wind.
Yesterday got off to a very poor start what with the rain and thunder and lightning, but that bright patch in the west won over and the day steadily improved. The clouds melted away and by mid-day we have blue skies and warm sunshine. The air clarity was good with Albania and its villages to be clearly seen across the channel. We had a great walk to Acharavi beside the calm sea, and back, it was very warm in the sunshine. There was no wind, only a few streaky clouds with some white fluffy ones clinging to the tops of the Albanian peaks. The clouds crept over from Albania to give us a pretty sunset leading into a clear starlit night.

Good afternoon from Roda. Again sorry for the late report but I had an appointment in Acharavi this morning. When we awoke this morning it was chilly and there was extra snow on the peaks of the Albanian mountains and a dusting on the lower levels. The views were amazing as the humidity had dropped and you felt that Albania had advanced by several miles across the channel! There was a snow flurry in Lafki as well! The sky was overcast, there was a gentle breeze and the sea was quite calm, although a strong wind was reported around 5am, but we didn't hear it!
Yesterday was a very breezy day for the most part. We had lovely sunshine with some clouds, and the air clarity was so good Albania could be seen in great detail. Never more so than when the sun was setting the mountainsides were lit up in gorgeous shades of pink. It was chilly in the breeze but still warm enough to have lunch on the balcony. As I have said the sunset was gorgeous leading into mild but cloudy night with only a gentle breeze

Good morning from Roda, and Kalo mena for the 1st of December. It is a cold and frosty start to the day here, with sound of the waves landing on the shore. We do have sunshine and thin high clouds, and the strange lenticular cloud formation over Albania (this cloud type is formed by high winds flowing over high mountains). These clouds can sometimes be mistaken for UFO's! The air clarity is such that Albania appears to have moved further towards us. The frost quickly disappeared as the sun got higher. We are heading for a brisk walk to Acharavi. Two photos I tried to put on earlier.
Yesterday turned out to be a very pleasant day once the sun got some heat in it around mid-day. The clouds disappeared and left clear blue skies, with just the occasional white fluffy thing. The winds stayed calm, even so there were big waves coming in. It was warm enough to enjoy our lunch on the balcony in just a t-shirt!. Though once we had passed the very pretty sunset it got cold very quickly. A thick coat was needed for our walk into the village, and what a night for stars. On the way back, because so few street lights are on the star were multitudinous. The milky way could easily be spotted over head with the naked eye in all its glory'

Good morning from Roda. It is a lovely morning here, we have blue skies with a few clouds caught on the peaks of the Albanian mountains and some more dotted artistically around. There is no wind and the sea is calm and blue. It was warm enough to eat breakfast on the balcony again. The temperatures are still on the low side, but it is very pleasant in the sun.
Yesterday, after a very cold start improved greatly. The sky remained mostly blue and that strange lenticular cloud remained all day, just diminishing as the afternoon wore on. It was very breezy for our walk to and from Acharavi, bracing I think is the word. But once sheltered from that wind we could eat our lunch on the balcony. That was starting to die away as we moved into the evening via a very pretty sunset. The waves were starting to die down as well. There evening felt milder due to the wind dropping, but there were much fewer stars to be seen. The photos I took yesterday. The first one is of the stormy waves and the lenticular cloud on our walk back from Acharavi, the other was taken close to sunset to show the Albanian mountains turning pink.

Good morning from Roda. It is another lovely morning here. We have almost complete wall to wall blue skies, with just the occasional small cloud lurking on the horizon. The sea is calm and can barely be heard by us. There is no wind, and all the smoke from the bonfires is settling close to the ground, making everything hazy and smoky. The visibility towards Albania is not as good as it could be, due, in part, to the higher humidity figures. Again the temperatures on the west of the island and at the airport are several degrees higher than us.
Yesterday started off quite well, but as the day progressed the cloud increased and by early afternoon we had almost a complete covering. We did get a few isolated sunny spells, but the clouds didn't start dispersing until around dusk. So we had a pretty sunset and a cloudy night, but only about 50% coverage so the stars could be seen in patches. There was no breeze and the sea was lovely and calm.
The temperature at 10am on Saturday 3rd December 2016 was 11.2°C, real feel 11.0°C, and the humidity 77%. Giving a dew point of 7°C.

Good morning from Roda. It is a very cloudy morning here, but quite bright, though I am not sure the sun will get through and we have a thunderstorm forecast. The sea is calm and we have a gentle breeze. The air clarity is not great with Albania there but not in detail and our backdrop distinctly hazy. The smoke from the bonfires is being pushed back to earth rather than going up into the sky.
Yesterday stayed dry but a bit cool all day. We had an afternoon of mostly sunshine, but some clouds kept getting in the way. We had a walk along to the beach for a swim but cried off. Instead we continued to see how the monastery of Agia Ekatarina was fairing. It was a very good day for a walk, pleasantly warm in the sunshine. The monastery though is deteriorating rapidly with the roof succumbing to woodworm and half had fallen in. When we were there three years ago it was almost usable. The weather was still nice when we got back for a late lunch on the balcony. The day, passed via a nice sunset, into a partly cloudy night with the moon and stars peeping behind those clouds. The wind and the sea were both calm for our walk back home.

Good morning from Roda. It is another cloudy morning here, though it is bright and the sun is trying to break through. It is mild and there is no wind. The sea is grey and calm and we have a good view of Albania across the channel. Much of the haze has gone and the bonfire smoke is going straight up.
Yesterday after a cloudy but fairly bright start got worse and by mid afternoon it had started to drizzle. This progressed into some very heavy rain, judging by the many large and deep puddles. We were at home and unaware as there was no wind to batter the rain onto the windows. We only found out when we went for our evening stroll into the village. The evening itself was dry with clouds and starlit breaks. There was still no wind and the sea was calm.

Good morning from Roda. We have another overcast morning but quite bright. It is mild but calm with little in the way of wind. The clouds are caught up on the mountain tops of Albania, and it is quite hazy, as are we. There are lots of bonfires again. The sea is grey and calm, not the glasy look it had yesterday.
Yesterday ended up not being a bad day. The brightness increased and the sun broke through. There was a lot of thin high cloud which gave an overall grey but bright feel to the day especially over Albania. The effect gave a monochrome tone, with the Diapontian Islands, being extremely dark against this pearl grey effect. It looked like Ericousa was floating in mid-air as the horizon was so indistinct. Over Corfu we did had some blue skies and clouds, so again it was warm enough to eat lunch on the balcony with no coats required!. The day drifted into a cloudy but dry and mild evening via a very pastel sunset. There is a puddle on our driveway this morning so there may have been a bit of rain overnight.

Good morning from Roda. It all change again here weather-wise. We have lovely blue sky and warm sunshine that belies the shade temperature of 12°C. There is no breeze, the sea is calm and very blue and we have a great view of Albania. There are a few thin streaky high clouds around and some white fluffy things caught on mountain tops. Breakfast was enjoyed on the balcony.
Yesterday remained cloudy and overcast all day. Despite the quite mild temperatures and lack of wind it felt cold and miserable. We did have a bit of drizzle in the late afternoon, then dried up for a dry mild evening. We did still manage to have a late lunch on the balcony without needing a jacket. The night was calm and cloudy with gaps showing the stars and the moon.

Good morning from Roda. It was a lovely morning at 10 o'clock when I took the readings. Clear blue skies, sunshine and no wind, but it was cold in the shade. The sea is blue and calm, with Albania nice and clear on the opposite shore, but our backdrop is decided hazy not helped, again, by the number of bonfires. There is such a lot of tree surgery going on with the olives, we see piles of wood in lay-bys waiting for the lorries to transport them to Italy for the pizza ovens. However by the time I am writing this the clouds are creeping across the skies for the south west, giving us cloudy moments.
Yesterday was gorgeous all day. The skies remained clear and blue apart from the occasional thin high cloud and the few caught on the mountain tops of Albania. There was a very slight breeze which almost put us off going to the beach. But we are made of sterner stuff and headed for a very pleasant hour on the beach at Almyros, and yes, we did both go in for a proper swim! It was a bit bracing to say the least, but OK once the muscles had warmed up. It was warm enough to dry off with a bit of sun bathing afterwards. It does make you feel very healthy and, dare I say, virtuous. The day slid, via a very pretty sunset, into a starlit, calm evening

Good morning from Roda. It is a lovely morning here. We have blue skies, with only a few clouds behind the Albanian and our peaks. It is warm in the sun (but very cool in the shade), so breakfast on the balcony, though we rarely miss a day. The sea is blue and calm looking, so we may just get a swim this afternoon when the sun is at its warmest. Albania is nice and clear across the channel, but our hills are veiled with haze and slowly drifting smoke. It almost looks like the aftermath of a forest fire that you see on TV with the hillside gently smoking as the fires die down. The smoke is from one end of our view to the other.
Yesterday started off lovely, and indeed it stayed nice all day. But the clouds did increase as the day went on to give us long sunny spells with some cloudier ones. There was just about a breeze, but enough, together with the clouds, to put us off swimming. You need a guaranteed spell of sunshine with no breeze to indulge. There was a pretty pastel sunset, leading into a calm starlit night. You go from only needing a light jacket, if at all, during the day. To your thickest coat, scarf and gloves by nightfall!

Good morning from Roda. Today is a bit chilly. We have wall to wall blue skies, not a cloud anywhere in sight. There is barely a breeze, the sea is calm and blue. though there is the sound of some waves hitting the shore. We have a great view of Albania, but our view is definitely smoky! It was just warm enough to have breakfast on the balcony, but very cool in the shade. We have a very heavy dew this morning.
Yesterday stayed lovely all day, if a bit on the cool side out of the sun. There was just a hint of a breeze as we were on the beach debating a swim, so that and the fact that the waves were not conducive to a quick entry we decided against it, though I did feel a little guilty about not being brave enough to swim. We will try again today. The east west split with temperatures continues today with the west recording temperatures of 12- 18°C, whilst the east were 8-10°C, we recorded 8°C. Hopefully when the winds change direction we get some of the warmth. So saying that it was a gorgeous day for a walk and enjoying a coffee in the sun. The day slipped, via a lovely sunset, into a chilly starlit night.
