Good morning from a sparkling Roda. We have blue skies, sunshine, barely any clouds or wind, and the colour of the sea is an amazing blue. The clarity is amazing, you think you could touch Albania. The mountains behind us are dark because the sun is still rising behind them. So it is glorious, but there is a drawback, it is cool, but average for the time of year. We have been spoilt by the high temperatures recently. Yesterday was lovely all day if a bit cool in the shade. We still managed a couple of swims in the afternoon, and will try again today. The sea is much warmer than I remember from last year. There was a nice sunset and a calm evening that was still 16°C at 11.30pm.
Today's readings at 10am on 24th October are:- Temperature 15.8°C (real feel 16°C) and humidity 77% (dew point 12°C so the grass will be very wet) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 21.0°C and the minimum was 15.3°C, the maximum humidity was 90% and the minimum 76% The reported UV for today is 4 (Range 1- 11), so if you do sunbathe use sunscreen that figure is still high.

I have enjoyed doing these reports and will continue to do them through out the winter months. However I have to be back in the UK for longer this winter for family reasons. I have been watching other reports around the north of the island and have gained a good feel of where Roda stands in relation to them. So, when I am here, I will report as usual, when I am away I will do my best to provide something which is relevant. There may be gaps when we are travelling in our motorhome, but I will do my very best to report as often as I can. The winters here (I can only comment on the last two) have been no where near as bad as I had been told. The days are usually warm enough for a light jacket or cardigan, but once that sun goes down it is cold and we seek warm fires and central heating. My UK home is Scotland so I am used to cold and wet so maybe I am biased.

Good morning from Roda. I hope you all remembered to put your clocks back. Unfortunately I have forgotten how to do it on my weather station! Any way we awoke to a glorious morning, blue skies, lots of sunshine, only a little cloud caught up in the mountains of Albania and barely any wind. The clarity is not quite as good as yesterday but still we have a good view of Albania across the channel. Yesterday was such a lovely day. We had wall to wall sunshine all day and no breeze to chill us as the actual temperature was only in the low 20's but felt so much more in the sun. The sea was a gorgeous shade of blue with gentle rollers causing a few waves. But we still managed about four swims in the afternoon. Sunbathing on a deserted beach with only the waves and the bird song to listen to, it was bliss. The lack of clouds precluded a great sunset but it was pretty all the same, and then the temperatures plummeted. We had a walk into the village and definitely needed that jacket, but there was an almost full moon and lots of stars so it was a lovely walk. Didn't hear any cicadas, so maybe too cold for them. Heard some a couple of nights ago before the rain.
Today's readings at 10am on 25th October are:- Temperature 16.5°C (real feel 19°C) and humidity 75% (dew point 13°C, wet grass and all smooth outdoor surfaces) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 21.4°C and the minimum was 13.3°C, the maximum humidity was 78% and the minimum 57%
The reported UV for today is 4 (range 1- 11), if sunbathing that UV is still high as I can vouch for from yesterday, so sunscreen needs to be used.

Good morning from Roda. Today we have sunshine, blue skies that are getting increasingly cloudy. They are high clouds so not expecting any rain. Albania is nice and clear across the water but with a slight haze and our mountains are also a bit hazy. Again there is practically no wind, so it felt lovely and warm on the balcony for breakfast. Yesterday was lovely all day, the sunny skies stayed until a lovely sunset had turned that sky into a starlight, moonlit canopy. Once the sun had set it was chilly, so a jacket was needed but there was no wind to make it feel even colder. It was 13.7°C at 11.30pm. However we did manage to get a few swims in the afternoon, and this time our deserted beach was slightly noisier than the day before. We had the gentle sounds of the waves washing on the shore, the bird song (which is so noticeable at this time of year) and they were joined by the gentle sounds of the bells attached to members of two large flocks of sheep and goats that wandered down to the back of the beach. We don't usually see such large herds roaming free. There were a few lambs amongst the sheep, but no kids, but it did look like quite a few of the animals were being milked, someone making home made cheese.
Today's readings at10am on 26th October are:- Temperature 17.6°C (real feel 20°C) and humidity 76% (dew point 13°C) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 20.3°C and the minimum was 11.3°C, the maximum humidity was 77% and the minimum 61%
The reported UV for today is 3 (range 1- 11) sunscreen not required as much, but still apply it if you burn easily.

Good morning from Roda. It is another beautiful day. There are cloudless blue skies, abundant sunshine and a gentle breeze. Albania is a bit indistinct across the channel and it has some clouds caught below the mountain peaks. The sea sounds calm and is a lovely mish mash of shades of blue. At this moment in time all that can be heard is the birds, not even the traffic along the main road. Breakfast on the balcony in the hot sun is so peaceful. Yesterday was a good day, it started off well but the clouds drifted across, however it stayed bright with the sun managing to get through those thin clouds. There was no real breeze to chill things down. We managed a walk and a couple of swims. The day progressed through a pretty sunset into a calm, clear but chilly night. It was around 14°C at midnight.
Today's readings at 10am on 27th October are:- Temperature 17.0°C (real feel 19°C) and humidity 80% (dew point 14°C) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 20.4°C and the minimum was 11.1°C, the maximum humidity was 79% and the minimum 68%
The reported UV for today is 4 (range 1- 11) that UV is still high so apply that sunscreen.

Good morning from Roda. And so the good weather continues. We awoke to blue skies, lots of sunshine, no wind but our mountains are hazy, but Albania with its cap of clouds is fairly clear across the sea. So it is going to be lovely for the OXI day parades. We are going to see the one in Acharavi, a time to catch up with people we know. The cafes and bars will be heaving! Yesterday stayed lovely with a few clouds appearing by sunset, which was lovely, the breeze was no more than gentle. In the sun it felt very hot, but in the shade it felt distinctly cool. We were in T-shirts in the sun at Skouna and three tables away by the sea in the shade they had fleeces on! They moved. We managed a couple of swims again, the sea was lovely and calm. It is just about warm enough not to take an intake a sharp of breath, but very nice when swimming around. Today's readings at10am on 28th October are:- Temperature 17.6°C (real feel 19°C) and humidity 81% (dew point 15°C) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 20.3°C and the minimum was 12.2°C, the maximum humidity was 81% and the minimum 72%

Good morning from Roda. This will be my last actual report from Roda for about six weeks as we are heading back to the UK. I will be away from WiFi for a few days, but hopefully once back in the UK I will be able to access it better and continue my daily report. We have blue skies and sunshine and a slight breeze. There are a few clouds around and the haze has deepened so that Albania is just a scant outline and our hills and mountains are copying them. I hope the sunshine continues as I have a washing line full and it needs to be dry by lunch time. Yesterday was a lovely day, there was a cloud build up around midday but not enough to hide the sun, and after watching the OXI day parade we wandered down for our last swim until December. Just to let you know how nice it is in the sun, the shade temperature at 3pm was 20.4°C, but in the sun on our balcony it was a lovely 27°C! The day drew to a close via a lovely sunset and a clear but chilly night . The temperature at 11.30pm was 14.5°C. We will both miss Roda but are looking forward to seeing our families and six weeks isn't too long. Today's readings at10am on 29th October are:- Temperature 17.1°C (real feel 19°C) and humidity 78% (dew point 153°C) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 20.4°C and the minimum was 12.7°C, the maximum humidity was 82% and the minimum 66%
The reported UV for today is 4 (range 1- 11) that UV is still high so apply that sunscreen, see that 27°C it burns!

Good evening from Milan. We are at the first place we could get on the internet. We have been lucky with the weather so far. Warm sunny days and cool nights.
As for Roda, there has been some overnight rain and a cool breeze apparently. Thursday Maximum temperature 19.4°C and minimum 12.8°C Friday Maximum Temperature 21°C and minimum 17°C Saturday Maximum Temperature 21°C and minimum 18°C The days were mostly sunny with cloudy intervals I understand. The minimum temperatures are a bit high, but I checked them on a couple of sites so it must be right. The forecast for next week is good with plenty of sunshine with the predicted maximum around 23°C and the expected minimum at 13°C and a UV of 3 (Range 1- 11). The week is supposed to start of with some clouds but it gets better as the week progresses.

Have a safe trip to UK and thanks for the weather reports; I really enjoy reading them. Thank you, I miss doing them and having the data to hand. I will try and find a system that I can access remotely for the future. The journey so far has been good. Even the Milan tangentiale (ring road) though busy was fine. We are off to Switzerland tomorrow via the 10.5mile long Gottard tunnel to Lucerne. We are camping on the shore of the lake. Then off to France, Luxembourg and Belgium, before hitting UK shores.

Hi from a very wet Scotland. I apologise for the lack of reports. We suffered from the usual lack of dependable WiFi on the continent, and very poor signal at the campsites in this country. We have both been stricken with very bad colds since arriving in Scotland, which I am blaming on the girl in the paper shop in Wrexham. Now we are settled for a while I will try and post a report every day. Roda has had a very good month. It started off with good sunny dry weather with the temperatures around 21- 23°C, it stayed beautiful with the temperatures reaching a peak of 25°C on the 11th and twelfth. The temperatures remained high until the 25th when they fell to around 17°C. The rain started, very heavy at times, and it will stay cool and wet until Saturday. From Sunday the good weather returns with sunshine and temperatures around 20°C for the whole week. I would take the weather in Roda over that here, but it won't be long till we are back.

Good to see the reports back and that you arrived safely in Scotland. Hope your colds recover soon despite the snow I see due there over this weekend. Uhm let me see 20C in Roda or -2C in UK; simple decision as to which to prefer.

Hi from a still very wet and cold Scotland. We have managed to avoid the snow that has fallen only a few miles east of us. My best intentions for a daily report fell by the wayside caused by the continuation of this evil cold Steve and I have suffered for over two weeks now (OK I was a disbeliever that the symptoms could last this long, until this strain from Wrexham hit us). We also have to hide the laptops away when my youngest grandchild, Katie, is around, very much limiting things. OK excuses over I will give a resume of the weather in Roda for the last few days. The weather has continued to be very mild with the day time temperatures in the high teens, nudging 20°C at times, with lovely sunny days with enough clouds to give spectacular sunrises and sunsets. There was a short but intensive spell of wet weather last weekend, clearing by Sunday, that seems to be history now, though a wet day or two is forecast for the end of next week, before the good weather resumes. The night time temperatures are remaining in high single figures. I remember last winter when it was lovely during the day, especially if you find a sheltered spot, but once that sun went down you went from UK summer to winter in the matter of an hour. We are counting the days down till we get back to Roda as we are fed up with cold dreich Scotland.

Good morning from Roda. What a lovely thing from me to write, it is so good to be back here enjoying the sunshine. Though still very chilly in the shade it was warm enough in the sun to have our breakfast on the balcony. We landed in Athens to clear blue skies and warm sunshine en- route to Corfu. We stayed overnight at our gem of a find in airport hotels, the Peri's. The cost includes free pick up and return to the airport, and he is from Corfu as well! We enjoyed a generous breakfast and had time to enjoy the sun on the balcony to read the papers. The sunny weather lasted for our flight which gave beautiful views of the Peloponnese. Many of the mountain tops had a good covering of snow, and indeed the Albanian hills we can see have their topping of snow as well. The weather here, since I last posted, has been consistently good with a lot of sunshine with very cool even cold nights. This has resulted in condensation which refuses to dry up in the shady pavements. The temperature has steadily declined from around 20°C down to the 16°C we are expecting today. With the night time temperatures falling to around 7°C. Which all in all is still very nice considering we are in Mid December. What we both noted was the light when we got back to Greece having just got back from Scotland where the sun struggled to gain any height in the sky, when you could see it, and the days were persistently grey, very windy with rain and sleet. Well we awoke to a cloudy start, but as the morning has progressed the sun has come out and as there is little wind it feels very nice out of the shade. It promises to be another lovely day with a few clouds and slight winds. I put a spare thermometer out on the balcony in the sun and it registered in the mid 20's°C but I wouldn't be jumping into shorts as it is deceptive.
The readings at 10am on 14th December are: Temperature 10.0°C and humidity 81% (Dew point 7°C) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 14.1°C and the minimum was 7.9°C, the maximum humidity was 76% and the minimum 69% The reported UV for today is 1 (Range 1-11)
