Good afternoon from Roda. Apologies for the very late report, an essential trip into town first thing, and we had to have a walk round the market and pick up some fruit and onion plants. We love the markets lots of lovely fresh and cheap and also local fruit and veg and not forgetting the fish. Had my first taste of fresh walnuts, so different from the dried ones on the packets. Back to the weather. It was a very wet and windy night. We awoke to a flooded garden, the supports for the romanesque cauli adrift, and the headlamp protector ripped from its mounts. It was still very windy as we headed to town but the rain eased to a drizzle and then died away. If fact as we came down from Toumpeta the Ropa valley was bathed in sunlight. Slightly hairy going through Skripero as the lights were out at both ends, hey ho back to times past. There were some very dark clouds around and the road in places was seriously under water. The sun had got out by the time we reached town, and the sky cleared to give good patches of blue. There was a spell of drizzle when we were in the market. That stayed away and we got back to Roda in sunshine. It is lovely here though there are banks of clouds all around , though it is still breezy. The sea is lovely and blue, not the horrible rough slate green it was first thing, and the visibility isn't bad, you can see Albania with a cap of clouds.
After the cloudy start, yesterday got better and better, with good long sunny spells and a mild temperature. It was warm enough to sit in the shade on the north balcony for a late lunch. The south one still being battened down. However I was too late to get washing through the machine as it would have dried nicely. The rain did start by mid-evening, but we managed to get home before we got wet, in fact we barely got damp. The sea had that long swell on it that flops ashore and you can hear the rumble of the stones in the undertow.
The temperature at 13.30pm on Thursday 16th November 2017 was 17.9°C, real feel 18°C, and the humidity 72% giving a dew point of 13°C. The temperature this day in 2016 was 13.6°C
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 19.0°C (real feel 19°C), and the minimum was 14.6°C , the dew point 12°C. The maximum humidity was 77% and the minimum 64%.
The reported UV for today is 2 ( Range 1- 11+).

Good morning from Roda. There is only one word to describe this morning 'dreich', it is raining steadily with some quite strong gust of wind sending the rain noisily splattering the windows. The gullies running along the garden are full, and we have standing water everywhere. Albania is just a grey outline across the fairly calm sea, and our mountains are again shrouded in mist and murk. It is supposed to get better tomorrow if you read the normal forecasts, or we are to get a type of cyclone with biblical rains and winds. I have two hopes, 1- that it misses us and the rest of Greece and 2- it doesn't materialize. Those poor towns near Athens and in the south of Corfu need a respite in the weather.
Yesterday, after a very bad start, steadily improved. We had some good spells of sunshine in the afternoon with a pleasant warmth. However the clouds steadily increased so that we failed to get a sunset. We got home in the dry after an early evening coffee in Pirates. The sea that had been quite choppy earlier on and calmed down completely and there was barely a ripple. The visibility was quite good, as the lights of Albania could still be seen, as well as the few remaining ones round the bay. It was a mild evening with the temperature holding at 16°C at 10pm. The temperature at 10.00 am on Friday 17th November 2017 was 14.7°C, real feel 14°C, and the humidity 71% giving a dew point of 10°C. The temperature this day in 2016 was 14.0°C
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 18.1°C (real feel 18°C), and the minimum was 13.9°C , the dew point 14°C. The maximum humidity was 75% and the minimum 67%.

Good morning from Roda. It is still a wet and windy picture we have here, although it is getting brighter with the odd patch of sun. Albania is quite clear this morning, with some flanks of the mountains lit by sunshine. The tops though are still topped with cloud. Our mountains have a heavy topping of cloud with mist and murk coming down the valleys. The anticipated storm seems to have missed north Corfu with only a report of wild waves and a couple of water spouts at Glyfada in the south west. We are supposed to get some good weather starting late Monday. A break in the rain will be good as the ditches are full and the ground saturated and turned into lakes in places. The sea is dark grey/green, cold looking and choppy in all this wind.
Yesterday was a mostly miserable day. The early morning rain did mostly clear, but we were left with spits and spots for the best part of the day, then the rain returned in earnest after dark. The sky didn't get any breaks in the clouds and looked very black and ominous to the west. Distant thunder was heard, and we did see the occasional flash of lightning. It was still mild with the late evening temperature being 15°C. In fact the temperature didn't vary much throughout the entire day. Visibility came and went with the rain, but the sea remained reasonably calm. The dredger in the harbour entrance was still able to continue working. The temperature at 10.00 am on Saturday 18th November 2017 was 15.3°C, real feel 15°C, and the humidity 76% giving a dew point of 11°C. The maximum temperature this day in 2016 was 15.6°C

Good morning from Roda. We have a schizophrenic morning here. If I look out to the north I see blue skies dotted with pretty white clouds and a fairly clear Albania. If I look to the south I can see dark grey clouds looming over the mountains and barely a hint of sun. However in both cases we have quite a blustery wind which doesn't make it feel warm. The sea is rough with quite big waves coming ashore and lots of white horses out to sea. I think we never seem to get those very large surfing type waves they get in the south west of the island round Glyfada. One positive thing about the day so far is that it is dry, and looks like staying mostly that way. Next week looks like a week of sunshine and catching up with the washing! I took some photos to illustrate this. I have also included a lovely little group of the wild cyclamen that are flowering beside the road to Theodoros Resort, so pretty and the olive groves are dotted with them now.
Yesterday stayed cloudy all day with spells of frizzle, more spits and spots than anything organised. The wind continued to drop during the day and was almost absent by evening. There was a slight break in the clouds that gave a hint of a sunset. But as the wind eased so the seas got rougher, with quite a swell by the evening. Still fairly mild as it was 15°C at 9pm. In fact the temperatures only varied by 2°C throughout the whole day. The temperature at 10.00 am on Sunday 19th November 2017 was 16.0°C, real feel 15°C, and the humidity 77% giving a dew point of 11°C. The maximum temperature this day in 2016 was 16.6°C

Good afternoon from Roda. Many apologies for the late report, but we had to take our motorhome down to the garage in Corfu Town for a look over. Thankfully nothing to worry about. We still have schizophrenic weather today. We even had yet another thunder storm in the small hours, just to remind us what they are like, as if we did need to. Our drive into Corfu town this morning was in a gale with rain coming down all be it not heavily, and it was decidedly chilly. It was still wet as we left Nike to her fate and walked up to Nostos for breakfast. By the time we had finished there was not a cloud in the sky and we were starting to feel a little warm in all our extra layers. The strong wind however persisted, so it was cool in the shade. The sea was very choppy. even at the port, but the visibility was amazing and so were the colours. You could even see Saranda bright in the sunshine. The view from the top as we came over Troumpeta was amazing. It is very rare that you see all three large Diapontian islands so clear, with a stunning Albania as a back drop. There is a lot more snow on the peaks over there now after all this rain.
Yesterday sorted itself out and the skies cleared to give a mostly lovely sunny but windy day. The sea was very high with the waves crashing over the sea wall by the Coral, and the beach by Nino's had gone again. The dredger must have sought a safe harbour as it gone from its station. We stayed in the warmth last night, but could hear the wind still. The outside temperature at 10.30pm was 14°C.
The temperature at 15.30 pm on Monday 20th November 2017 was 15.1°C, real feel 13°C, and the humidity 54% giving a dew point of 6°C. The maximum temperature this day in 2016 was 17.0°C

Good morning from Roda. The strong winds that plagued yesterday died away during the night, and we awoke to a calm clear day. Once the sun had prised itself out of bed we saw that we had a pretty blue sky with thin high streaky clouds. Not thick enough really to hinder the sun's beams. The humidity seriously dropped though and it is seriously cold , but with brilliant clarity. We can see that there is a lot more snow capping some of the Albanian peaks. The rough seas of yesterday have quietened down to give us a beautiful blue and calm expanse in the channel towards Albania. Washing already on the line. Some photos taken around the house this morning.
Yesterday, after the awful start, settled into a sunny, but very windy and hence colder feeling day. We battled our way to the village just as the sun was setting, the first decent sunset in quite a while. The heavy seas were sending waves hitting the sea walls sending some spray onto the road. There was a sliver of a moon in what, later became such a star laden sky. There were so many stars it was difficult to pick out the Great Bear! As we went to bed we could still hear the wind and the roaring of the sea.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Tuesday 21st November 2017 was 10.5°C, real feel 10°C, and the humidity 53% giving a dew point of 1°C (This is not a typo!). The maximum temperature this day in 2016 was 17°C

Good morning from Roda. The settled cold weather continues. We awoke to clear blue skies with just a hint of wispy high level clouds. There is a gentle breeze and a calm blue sea. The visibility continues to be amazing with Albania standing proud and clear. Our hills behind us would be clear of it wasn't for somebody lighting a huge bonfire. The temperature in the sun belies the temperature. We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony and my washing put out last night has dried completely ready for a second load to go out. Once you get to mid afternoon the heat decreases rapidly. We are using the solar powered hot water system whilst we can.
Yesterday stayed beautiful all day, with that thin high clouds disappearing altogether. There was still a bit of a cooling breeze which precluded any swim, though we check the beach out. Driving down to the beach we suddenly came across this herd of cows just wandering along the beach road. Not sure where they were going and there was no dog or man with them. Enough cloud gathered to add lovely interest to the sunset which lead onto a very chilly night. The moon was setting as we went out, just a sliver but with a distinct, but feint, impression of all of the moon. Again we had a myriad of stars.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Wednesday day 22nd November 2017 was 9.4°C, real feel 9°C, and the humidity 64% giving a dew point of 2°C The maximum temperature this day in 2016 was 16.4°C
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 14.3°C (real feel 10°C), and the minimum was 7.9°C , the dew point 4°C. The maximum humidity was 53% and the minimum 47%.

Good morning from Roda. It is another glorious morning here, An early morning dash into town was so different from the wind and rain of last week. Coming over the top down from Troumpeta all the valleys were filled with low lying mist. It looked some giant spider had gone mad with spinning fine webs, ethereal in its beauty. Another strange thing was that coming up towards Troumpeta our wing mirrors kept misting over and then clearing as we moved from one temperature to another, it could happen in a matter of metres to clear and mist over then clear again. Very odd ,but we think it was the fact that we were driving in and out of the edges of the dew point for condensation to form. The visibility continues to be good, with a beautiful calm blue sea as well. The cloudless sky is an amazing deep shade of blue and it is so hot in the sun despite a cool shade temperature. So extreme that vest tops needed on the south balcony, thick coat and scarves needed on the front!
Yesterday was lovely all day again, with come thin high clouds gathering in the afternoon. It was very hot in the sun if you had some shelter. There were just enough clouds to make a stunning sunset. The breeze was almost absent and the sea so calm, that the dredger was back in the harbour beavering away, although I can't see it today. We did have a trip down to the beach to gather sea grass for the garden, and I did look at the calm sea, but not brave enough. I will have to find the courage to get in at least once to say I have swum in November! The evening was cold with a crescent moon setting as we walked into the village. The sky was a mass of stars again. The light pollution is way down at this time of year so we can see more of them.
The temperature at 10.30 am on Thursday day 23rd November 2017 was 11.6°C, real feel 12°C, and the humidity 74% giving a dew point of 7°C The maximum temperature this day in 2016 was 15.9°C

Good morning from Roda. The lovely weather continues, though it is supposed to break tomorrow. We have an almost clear blue sky, lovely sunshine, a flat calm sea and great visibility. There is the merest of breezes, but enough to enjoy being out of them. Again it is very cold on the north balcony, but we enjoyed baking in the sun on our south facing one for our breakfast. The dredger is working away at the entrance of the harbour. I couldn't see it yesterday when I did my report as it was much further round than before.
Yesterday was beautiful all day, and very hot when sheltered from the tiny breeze. We enjoyed a pleasant walk into the village in the late afternoon for a coffee at Pirates. Walking back at sunset the light was amazing. I can never catch the shade of pink that everything turns to, it is stunning. The sea had lost any waves and there was barely a ripple. I took some photos to show you, but the real thing was so much better. The nights are cold and you need to be wrapped up, but when the days are so glorious it is a small price to pay. We got our first sight of a mass of snowdrops in an olive grove on our way back from town, a lovely sight. The olive harvest is in full swing now with the oil pressing plant in full swing with a constant stream of pickups coming and going. The smell when you drive passed is something. You either love it or hate it.

Good morning from Roda. The good weather has gone and has been replaced with a very overcast morning. The air is still, the sea calm and the visibility is still very good. There is some brightness towards the western edge of Albania and beyond towards Italy. The forecast says that the clouds will break later this afternoon, we will just have to wait and see.
Yesterday stayed lovely all day, however in the afternoon the direction and strength of the breeze changed. We started to get waves coming ashore and the sound of the sea was back. You miss it when it isn't there, the last couple of days the sea had been silent it was so calm. There were enough clouds gathered to give a very pretty, if pastel, sunset. This lead into a clear starlit night with a growing crescent moon shining bright. But it was cold. Gloves, hat and scarves were needed for our walk to the grill room for a Friday treat. What we saw of the village was fairly typical of a winter's night. Plenty of parked cars and very few pedestrians. Pirates was busy, the upstairs of Alexandros in the Village was issuing quite a lot of noise. Nemo's was busy with families, Rialto the Italian was open but with no customers we could see. Oscar's had about a dozen people in for meals and at the bar, the grill room was quite quiet but was still taking lots of take-away orders. The beach by Newport is now a carpark with about a dozen cars most nights.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Saturday 25th November 2017 was 11.3°C, real feel 11°C, and the humidity 76% giving a dew point of 7°C The maximum temperature this day in 2016 was 16.7°C

Good morning from Roda. We are experiencing the start of the bad weather that is due over the next week. At the moment there seems to only one day that will be exempt from the heavy rain, strong winds and more thunder storms. At the moment we have cloudy skies that look very ominous towards the west. There are enough breaks in the cloud base, at the moment, to give us some decent spells of sunshine. The blustery wind is gaining strength, at the moment it is coming from the east across our balcony, but 100m down the way their smoke is going the opposite way. The sea and the clouds are both westerly. The visibility is not as good as recently with Albania just visible under the clouds. However the air temperature is quite good this morning so tea and toast on the balcony again. It has already reached the maximum temperature we got to yesterday!
Yesterday started off cloudy with very still air, and a calm sea. Though there was just enough energy there to raise a very small set of waves. The clouds started to clear in the afternoon to give some very nice sunny spells. There was a pretty good sunset leading on to another starlit night with a lovely crescent moon illuminating us. It was slightly warmer walking back from the village, no thick coat needed. The lights of Albania were still just about visible.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Sunday 26th November 2017 was 14.2°C, real feel 14°C, and the humidity 80% giving a dew point of 10°C The maximum temperature this day in 2016 was 17.3°C
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 14.3°C (real feel 14°C), and the minimum was 8.6°C , the dew point 10°C. The maximum humidity was 78% and the minimum 68%.

Good morning from Roda. We awoke to better weather than we expected. Fair enough we had an almost 100% cloud cover and it is quite windy out there, but it is dry which is the main thing. The sea was ruffled but has got increasingly choppy and we can see lots of white horses and quite big waves coming ashore. The wind had cleared some blue patches in the sky to the north of us, but to the south it is still solid cloud. Those clouds are perilously close to the tops of the mountains. Albania is reasonably visible across the channel but still has a cap of cloud. The Minoan ferries we very late when we saw two, Olympic Champion and Cruise Olympia, sailing south almost 4 hours late. The temperature at 10.00 on Saturday 29th. July 2017 was 24.3°C, real feel 26.0°C, and the humidity 65% giving a dew point of 17°C. Temperatures are not too bad, but those winds and clouds make it seem cooler than it is.
Yesterday was very cloudy all day with strong winds, however the sea was very calm with barely enough energy to come ashore. The clouds were very low in the afternoon trailing down the valleys behind us. there was a shift sharp shower in the afternoon, but we got home in the dry after our weekly treat of a cooked breakfast at Pirates. We ventured out again in the evening before dinner and the heavens opened and we had a thunderstorm some distance away from us, but the lightning was amazing at times. We managed to get home only slightly damp. Towards the end of the evening we had a couple of short power cuts that must have been weather related. Power was quickly restored, but it did confirm that we had torches and emergency lanterns easily found in pitch black!
The temperature at 10.00 am on Monday 27th November 2017 was 14.4°C, real feel 14°C, and the humidity 76% giving a dew point of 10°C The maximum temperature this day in 2016 was 16.3°C
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 16.0°C (real feel 16°C), and the minimum was 9.3°C , the dew point 13°C. The maximum humidity was 80% and the minimum 75%.
The reported UV for today is 2 ( Range 1- 11+).
UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around the summer solstice.
DEW POINT 10-12°C Very comfortable 13-16°C Comfortable 16-18°C OK for most but all feel the humidity at the upper edge 18-21°C Somewhat uncomfortable for most people at the upper edge 21-24°C Very humid, quite uncomfortable 24-26°C Extremely uncomfortable fairly oppressive 26°C- Severely high. Asthmatics should take care.
The maximum temperature recorded by us in Roda in 2017 was 31.9°C (real feel 34°C) on 29th June The maximum recorded temperature ever in Corfu was 42.8°C The lowest recorded temperature was -8.8°C
