Good morning from Roda. It is a lovely morning with blue skies, some high cloud and no wind to speak of, but it is chilly. Albania is very clear across the channel and most of the snow has gone from the peaks. The valleys behind us contain low lying fog, and the ubiquitous wood smoke from fires and bonfires is causing a generalised mistiness everywhere. It is going to be another lovely day. Yesterday was beautiful sunny and calm. We had a nice run out to Almyros hunting butterflies and sat on the beach enjoying the warm sunshine. Steve put his toe in the water but wasn't inclined to go in further! When the sun went down it got cold very quickly and we had a lovely starlit evening as we wandered out for our evening warm up in front of the fire at Pirates bar.
The readings at 10am on 15th December are:- Temperature 7.8°C and humidity 77% (Dew point 4°C) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 13.8°C and the minimum was 6.4°C, the maximum humidity was 82% and the minimum 67%
The reported UV for today is 1 (Range 1-11)

Good morning from a chilly Roda. We have some blue skies and quite a bit of high cloud with no wind. There is no poor visibility to hide Albania this morning, but the many wood fires and bonfires are creating quite a hazy view of our mountains. It will be another lovely warm sunny day once the sun has got a bit higher in the sky. I am afraid I have to appologise for inaccurate readings over the last couple of days. I was a bit concerned that my readings were a bit low compared to others around the north of the island. Then my sensor died, so with new batteries in the temperature suddenly jumped a couple of degrees. I will have to watch this in future and change the batteries at any hint of discrepancy. I will add an addendum to the last two post to give a better idea of the true temperature. Yesterday was another lovely sunny and warm day for our walk to Acharavi and back. The doors in Ilo Ilo were flung open to let us enjoy the warmth, and there were people enjoying the warmth and the views outside Fuego. It was very pleasant eating our late lunch on the balcony. The clouds gave us a stunning sunset, leading into a cold but clear night.
The readings at 10am on 16th December are:- Temperature 8.4°C and humidity 78% (dew point 4°C) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 18.4°C and the minimum was 5.7°C, the maximum humidity was 72% and the minimum 65% The reported UV for today is 1 (Range 1-11)

Crazy though it sounds the temperatures here in the South England are going to be very similar over the next few days between 15c and with a possible high of 18c. Not much sign of sun at moment here though just grey cloudy skies and lots of drizzle (all day yesterday). Mind you I would much rather be in Corfu.

Good morning from a glorious Roda. We have lovely blue skies with some wispy high cloud and a bit of a breeze. You can clearly see Albania across a startling blue sea, but our foothills and mountains are slightly misty due to the wood fires. The sun would be very warm if it wasn't for that chilling breeze, but we still managed to have our breakfast on the balcony. Yesterday started off with the promise of things improving, but by mid day the clouds had covered the sky and by 2 o'clock there was the odd spit and spot of rain. However the skies started to clear by late afternoon to give a very pleasant end of the day. There was still little in the way of wind. The evening was chilly because there were quite large breaks in the clouds to give us a lovely view of the stars. There is so little light pollution here in the winter the stars can be amazing. As I was taking my readings late last night I noticed that the temperature was rising, and sure enough it got to and stayed at around 11°C for the rest of the night. Though I still needed my hot water bottle!
The readings today 17th December at 10am are:- Temperature 11.6°C and humidity 56% (Dew point 4°C) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 13.8°C and the minimum was 4.6°C, the maximum humidity was 79% and the minimum 72%

Not much sign of sun at moment here though just grey cloudy skies and lots of drizzle (all day yesterday). Mind you I would much rather be in Corfu. We were in Scotland for over two weeks before we came back. It was cold, wet and grey mostly, though we did have the occasional sunny day, the sun didn't get very high in the sky, and the days were very short. Some days the lights never went off in the flat! It is the light that we noticed most when we got back to Greece. That and the tranquillity. Because our camper is back in the UK we are walking everywhere and have the time to enjoy the beautiful scenery. We feel blessed.

Good morning from a glorious but cold Roda. We have cloudless blue skies and abundant sunshine. There is a bit of haziness about just blurring the outlines of Albania and our mountains. We awoke to a ground frost all around us, but this is disappearing rapidly as the heat of the sun builds up. It is already warm enough, in the sun, to have the kitchen door open. OK it is south facing and there is no wind to cool things down. Yesterday was a nice day with plenty of sunshine, though the temperature fell sharply at night to give a much lower temperature as we went to bed of 7.0°C compared to a dawn temperature of 10.2°C. The sharp wind in the morning died down completely to give a calm night, hence the lower temperatures.
The readings today 18th December at 10am are:- Temperature 7.1°C and humidity 64% (Dew point 1°C) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 14.2°C and the minimum was 10.2°C, the maximum humidity was 59% and the minimum 51%

Good morning from a cloudy but bright Roda. The sun is trying desperately to shine though the few blue patches we have, but I think the temperatures her are lower than most of the UK. But what we lack in temperatures we make up for in light. The days here are lighter longer, and when the sun does get up it rises to much higher in the sky. We mostly have days of almost two opposites temperature wise. The days being warm and pleasant and the nights clear and very cold, it is almost like a switch being turned. There is a slight haziness today making all the mountains a bit indistinct, but it is still beautiful. The seas have generally been calm with the lovely long waves just gently washing ashore. Yesterday was lovely all day with only a little breeze, we had sunshine all day. The walk to Acharavi and back was lovely in the warm sunshine. There is a plus side to being without transport! My sensor was reading a few degress below others around the north of the island, but I did check it against another thermometer and they agreed. It did feel it was several degrees warmer than the readings though. The sunset was beautiful because there were a few clouds drifting over by then and the night was the expected cold one, but the stars are amazing.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 13.0°C and the minimum was 3.1°C, the maximum humidity was 65% and the minimum 53%.

Good morning from a sunny Roda. We have lovely blue skies, lots of sunshine due to the complete absence of clouds and barely a breeze. We are missing the usual clarity that we get in the winter, but the mountains of Albania are clearly visible across the calm blue sea. Our hills and mountains have the usual haziness. All in all it is a lovely start to the day. Breakfast will be on the balcony. Yesterday started off cloudy, but the clouds gradually dissipated to give a lovely afternoon. It felt very warm in the sun standing outside Sandy's Bar. There was a very petty sunset leading into the usual cold evening. There was very little in the way of a breeze during the day, so there is nothing on the horizon to blow away this good weather which is forecast to last beyond Christmas. So our Christmas lunch will hopefully be on the balcony! The shortest day is 22nd of December and we have over nine hours of daylight at the moment. Something I personally appreciate after the short daylight hours in Scotland.
The readings at 10am on 20th. December are:- Temperature 8.8°C and humidity 72% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 13.6°C and the minimum was 3.7°C, the maximum humidity was 72% and the minimum 58%

Good morning from a sunny Roda. Today is exactly the same as yesterday so far. We have cloudless blue skies, no wind and a slight haziness. The sea is a lovely shade of blue with just a few shallow waves rolling ashore. Breakfast on the balcony and a wash out drying, lovely! We are planning a walk along to Acharavi to enjoy the weather and the views whilst we can. Yesterday stayed lovely all day, in fact the maximum temperature measured by my sensor fails to tell the full story. After a gentle stroll around the village we had lunch on the balcony. It was roasting, so I got the thermometer out and put it on the table, it settled at 40°C in the sun! That was at 3pm when the sensor on the north facing balcony was reading 14.5°C! OK it got cold quite quickly getting down to 16°C, in the same spot at, 4.30pm. It was amazing whilst it lasted, and today looks like repeating it.
The readings at 10am on 21th. December are:- Temperature 8.7°C and humidity 71% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 14.9°C and the minimum was 4.8°C, the maximum humidity was 72% and the minimum 58%

Good afternoon from a sunny Roda. Apologies for the late report, but we did have to do some essential Christmas food shopping and stop and get our turkey from the butchers in Acharavi. The morning promised a lovely warm day, what with its cloudless blue skies, lack of any breeze and copious sunshine. There was a degree of mistiness which wasn't entirely due to the wood fires, and the sea was noisier than recently. But all in all it was a lovely morning for our trip into Corfu Town. Dropping down from Trompeta towards Skripero the valleys in front of us were filled with mist, and the sea was shining in the distance. Beautiful.
Yesterday was as lovely as it promised, lovely warm sunshine during the day with the temperature falling rapidly away after the pretty sunset. A very gentle breeze did get up late afternoon, but it didn't spoil the day. The evening was clear and cloudless, but not as cold as it has been recently.
The readings at 9am on 22nd. December are:-
Temperature 6.8C and humidity 74%
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 15.3°C and the minimum was 4.6°C, the maximum humidity was 72% and the minimum 64%

Good morning from Roda. It is yet another lovely morning. We have clear cloudless blue skies, the sun is shining and there is barely a breeze. It is warming up nicely, I feel a wash coming on as I will get it dry. There is the usual mistiness around, and Albania is beautiful across the calm sea. Yesterday was a beautiful warm day. It stayed sunny all day, and down in Corfu Town the thermometer in the car was reading 20°C. It was misty in the valleys on our way down from Trompeta, but there was no sign by the time we got to town. The wind sprang up during the evening but it wasn't that cold, so there were a lot of waves crashing onto the beach, but we still had the clear starlit sky. This good spell of weather is forecast to last at least until the New Year. I am not complaining as it is lovely being able to eat and read on the balcony for most of the daylight hours.
Today's readings at 10am on 23rd December are:- Temperature 9.0°C and humidity 74% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 15.8°C and the minimum was 5.6°C, the maximum humidity was 77% and the minimum 64% The reported UV for today is 1 (Range 1- 11)

Good morning from Roda. And so the good weather continues. We have cloudless blue skies, a warm sun and negligible wind. There was mist in the valleys of our mountains first thing which has now gone just leaving a slight haziness. Across the blue sea Albania is not as sharp as you would expect in winter. We still have the long rolling waves that increase and decrease as the day goes on. Yesterday was beautiful, sunny and warm all day with only a slight breeze early evening. But this weather does create wardrobe problems. It was so hot sitting on our south facing balcony we had to retreat. The new digital thermometer read 44°C sat on the table, the one on the north balcony read 14.4°C. A thirty degree difference is quite extreme. Many layers of clothing and we cope with everything! A thick cardigan for the day and a thick anorak for the night with three thin layers under.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 11.9°C and the minimum was 5.5°C, the maximum humidity was 74% and the minimum 66%

It was plenty warm enough for us to have our Christmas lunch on the balcony after a lovely stroll through the village. We had coffee at a pretty full Tropicana, enjoying the warmth. Yesterday was beautiful, sunny and warm all day with only a slight breeze early evening. There were some thin high clouds formed early evening that gave a lovely sunset.
