Yesterday was not as bad as forecast. Yes there was rain, torrential at times, and thunder storms, but there were gaps that enabled us to get out for our walk to Acharavi and not get wet (with the aid of an umbrella). OK my feet got wet due to leaking shoes and the water was pouring down the road towards Fuego. We had to shelter under the olive wood shop canopy for a few minutes till we got a clear spell to get to Fuego. Then a lovely coffee before the next clear spell and we could get to Roda dry, we had to wait before Roda reappeared out of the murk. At one point the visibility was very poor. The sun did try to break through briefly in the late afternoon. We managed another dry walk into the village in the evening, and coming back there was a thunder storm. It was all around Roda with lovely lightening lit skies and thunder rolling around, but overhead we had stars! The wind did get up later on as more rain lashed down. Our garden is awash this morning. I am not sure why, but these storms never seem as cold, wet and miserable as back in the UK. Though that is on the coast, it must be much worse in the mountain villages.
The readings at 10am on 4th. January 2016 are:- Temperature 11.1°C and humidity 82% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 15.0°C and the minimum was 9.5°C The maximum humidity was 85% and the minimum 73%

Good morning from Roda. The poor but mild weather continues and we awoke to cloudy skies and poor visibility with no trace of Albania or even our mountains. The clouds are threatening the foothills as the photo from the south balcony shows. Yesterday was generally wet though not windy. The rain varied from almost nothing to a downpour. Though we did manage our usual walk to Acharavi, though we had to shelter in Fuego for a while for a bad spell to ease. The weather was very strange last night as I noticed the temperature rising as we approached midnight. The mid afternoon temperature was around 13°C, but by midnight it had risen to 15°C and peaked at 16°C at 2am. It is still mild and it is getting brighter as I type this.
The readings at 10am on 5th. January 2016 are:- Temperature 13.4°C and humidity 88% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 15.0°C and the minimum was 8.8°C The maximum humidity was 88% and the minimum 78%

Good morning from Roda. It is Epiphany today, so lots of fit young men will be diving into the seas around Corfu to retrieve the cross thrown in by the Papas. It is supposed to symbolise the baptism of Christ and is alledged to bring luck for the year to the lucky man. It could be a worse day for them as it is mild but quite windy and we have a good covering of clouds, these are low enough to get stuck on the mountain tops. Albania has disappeared across the choppy sea. The sun does try and poke its nose out occasionally. Yesterday was not a bad day, it was very mild and mainly dry. There was some slight mizzle in the morning but this dried up and the afternoon clouds cleared enough for the sun to shine a few times and to allow a most spectacular sunset. The temperatures day and night hovered around the 15- 16°C. The sea had that flat calm that you get with these prevailing southerlies, the muted colours were very pretty.
The readings at 10am on 6th. January 2016 are:- Temperature 17.6°C and humidity 79% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 16.3°C and the minimum was 13.1°C The maximum humidity was 88% and the minimum 85%

Good morning from Roda. It is a much better day, we have blue skies and scudding clouds. There is a fresh wind giving us colourful white horses well out to sea. The drop in humidity has caused Albania to come back all beautiful and clear across the blue/ green sea. It and our mountains are much clearer than they have been for a while. It would be a good drying day if I had got my act together and washed last night! Yesterday started off not too bad, mild, cloudy, bright and windy. However in early afternoon the rain started and the wind picked up. It proceeded to get worse and by late evening it was blowing a hooley! The lowest temperature up to 10am yesterday was 16.2°C, but as the storm picked up the temperatures dropped to give 14.0°C by midnight. The forecast is that we will remain cool all day. So it is going to be a bracing walk along to Acharvi. The readings at 10am on 7th. January 2016 are:- Temperature 13.0°C and humidity 64% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 18.2°C and the minimum was 14.0°C The maximum humidity was 88% and the minimum 85%
The reported UV for today is 1 (Range 1- 11) This was taken from our north balcony this morning. Sorry sea is a bit wonky, still have to learn how to edit my photos.

Good morning from Roda. We awoke to blue skies a scattering of clouds (mostly of the thin and high variety) and a complete absence of the very high winds from yesterday. Albania has reappeared with a light dusting of snow across its peaks. Our mountains are just a dark block against the warm morning sun. The rough seas yesterday just got progressively worse during the day. By the time we were returning from Acharavi we were having to dodge the waves washing up over the road. At times the wind was so strong it almost blew us to a standstill. The storm raged for the rest of the night, we could hear the sound of the waves crashing on the beach over the noise from the TV, but the wind did seem to calm down as the evening progressed. I have posted a photo of the seas at Acharvi, but it doesn't do them justice. Don't think anyone will be taking advantage of the outside area, and the surroundings are a work in progress after the pipeline went through.
The readings at 10am on 8th. January 2016 are:- Temperature 12.5°C and humidity 68% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 14.5°C and the minimum was 11.5°C The maximum humidity was 84% and the minimum 60%

Looks a lovely day: outside my office window it is lashing down with rain and it has been all night as well. We always seem to not be bothered so much by any bad weather out here. Though I have never done February and March, supposedly the worst months. It was bracing walking back from morning coffee dodging the waves and the pipework. Makes the walk interesting. Not looking forward to Scottish weather when we get back.

Good morning from Roda. It is not so bright today, we have a lot of clouds and only the odd blue patch. It was breezy when we got up but now that has died down almost completely. Albania is visible across the sea, which has a pale green tinge today, our mountains are toying with the clouds on their summits. Yesterday was lovely all day, sunshine all day leading onto a very pretty pastel sunset. The night sky was filled with stars, so felt quite chilly. The storm from the previous day had died away completely, but left its mark on the sea shore. Not only was there a lot of fikia (sea grass) washed up but plenty of flotsam, tree branches, pallets parts and plastic but loads of stones from the beach. The beach side road to Acharavi had turned into an obstacle course to add to the pipeworks. I have put on two photographs one outside Ninos looking towards Roda and one half way to Acharavi.
The readings at 10am on 9th. January 2016 are:- Temperature 15.0°C and humidity 75% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 15.1°C and the minimum was 11.0°C The maximum humidity was 72% and the minimum 60%

Good morning from Roda. There is a lot of cloud around this morning, though it is fairly high as the mountain tops are clear, and it is bright enough. Albania is just a memory over the calm sea. So all- in -all it is a bit of a nondescript day, mild, and calm, though this is supposed to change later on with rain and thunder due. Yesterday was not a bad day. It was mostly cloudy, mild and not much wind, so it was a pleasant walk along the beach to Acharavi. There is still a lot of debris across the road from the storm, with the road completely covered in places. There was not much of a sunset, but we could see stars amidst the clouds later on.
The readings at 10am on 10th. January 2016 are:- Temperature 15.7°C and humidity 75% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 16.5°C and the minimum was 11.2°C The maximum humidity was 78% and the minimum 73%

Good morning from Roda. We awoke to sunshine and clouds, maybe more cloud than sunshine. Albania has disappeared from the horizon, and our hills and mountains are thinking about joining her. We have a good breeze, but the temperatures are holding up quite well. Yesterday was a bit dull and damp, and we did have a spell or too of drizzle, though again it was mild and the lack of wind didn't spoil it. The temperature started to fall during the night giving us the coldest temperatures of the day. The readings at 10am on 11th. January 2016 are:- Temperature 15.6°C and humidity 78% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 17.1°C and the minimum was 12.8°C The maximum humidity was 79% and the minimum 76%

Good morning from Roda. The mild weather continues, but we awoke to grey cloudy skies and quite a wind. Albania has disappeared, though it did make an appearance yesterday afternoon. The Corfiot hills and mountains are very hazy and toying with the clouds, it must be quite foggy up on the tops. As I write the sun is trying to break through. The sea is that amazing jade green you only seem to get at this time of year. Yesterday stayed cloudy all day, but again very mild, the wind came and went again during the day. There wasn't much of a break in the clouds, but there was the odd twinkle from stars on the horizon at night.
The readings at 10am on 12th. January 2016 are:- Temperature 16.2°C and humidity 78% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 18.2°C and the minimum was 12.4°C The maximum humidity was 79% and the minimum 72%

Good morning from Roda. We have blue skies and quite a lot of cloud together with a chilling breeze. The visibility has improved so that Albania has reappeared over the choppy blue/ green sea with its pretty white horses. The Corfiot hills and mountains are very hazy, but this could be partly due to the wood smoke.
Yesterday was pleasant. The day steadily improved and we have a good amount of sun. The wind died down by the evening, however the sunset was not great, but the stars shone once night fell. It still felt very mild on our walk back from the village.
The photos were taken on Monday, I appologise for the quality of them but the colours are amazing.
The readings at 10am on 13th. January 2016 are:- Temperature 14.2°C and humidity 68% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 18.0°C and the minimum was 15.3°C The maximum humidity was 78% and the minimum 73%
