Much as I like reading about the weather in Roda all these "the good weather continues" is depressing when our weather for the last 7 weeks has been WET WET WET. Tomorrow the 25th the forecast is for Snow over the Hills as far South as the Brecon Beacons and for the rest of us WET WET WET Have a very Happy Christmas and we'll see you next Year Steve and I are surprised and very pleased with the warm sunny weather. It has been such a delight after the cold wet windy dark days in Scotland. I would feel as depressed as you if I were back home, so I very much appreciate the fine weather here. Long may it last. Have a lovely Christams and we will see you next year.

Good morning from Roda. Yes, we still have cloudless blue skies, sunshine and barely a breeze. There is the usual mistiness slightly obscuring Albania across the sea and our hills and mountains. Yesterday was such a lovely day, being able to enjoy breakfast and Christmas lunch out on the balcony was a treat, no jumpers or cardigans needed for the lunch. We took advantage of the warm weather for a very pleasant walk along Roda's beach. The wind got up yesterday late afternoon and whipped the seas up to give us white horses for as far as I could see, but that has all gone and the sea is back to giving us those lovely long low waves we have been enjoying recently.
The readings at 9am on 22nd. December are:- Temperature 9.0°C and humidity 74% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 15.7°C and the minimum was 6.0°C The maximum humidity was 81% and the minimum 61%

Good morning from Roda. We have blue skies with just a few strands of high clouds marring the otherwise clear blue. There is just a hint of a breeze and we have the mistiness that we have had of late. There was a hint of a ground frost on the field next door to us as I drew the curtains. Yesterday was another lovely day, once the sun got up high enough it was hot and sunny out of the shadows. Hot enough for Steve to get down to just his shorts as he mulled over the Telegraph cryptic on the balcony after lunch (see the photo below!). However those surfaces that remained in shadow all day stayed wet from the condensation overnight, and even the road surfaces that were dry during the day soon were wet once the sun went down. There was a lovely sunset and no wind in the evening and the usual starlit sky, which was slightly marred by the haziness.
The readings at 9am on 27nd. December are:- Temperature 9.0°C and humidity 76% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 15.4°C and the minimum was 5.2°C The maximum humidity was 74% and the minimum 63%

Good morning from Roda. I am sorry to say that the good weather shows no sign of going. Well sorry for you as you have to keep reading about it, but we here are enjoying it very much. So today we have clear cloudless blue skies and a very gentle breeze. There is the usual haziness as well but not really affecting visibility. So Steve and I are off for a walk to enjoy it. Yesterday was much the same, though we did have some fine threads of ineffectual high cloud. There was a lovely sunset and a lovely but very cold evening with the full moon playing on the gentle rolling waves. We had a walk round the village in the afternoon, and it still seems very autumnal what with so many trees still hanging onto their leaves. This is the end of December after all, what are they thinking of! The photo was taken outside Top Gear looking down the lane. The readings at 10am on 28th. December are:- Temperature 8.9°C and humidity 75% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 14.9°C and the minimum was 5.9°C The maximum humidity was 77% and the minimum 68%

Good morning from Roda. The good weather continues and we have clear blue skies, a breeze that is hardly there and the usual mistiness. There hs been a ground frost overnight, which will soon disappear once the sun gets some heat in it. We are supposed to enjoy this good fortune for a few more days before there is a much cooler wetter spell. Yesterday was gorgeous, warm, sunny and very pleasant. We enjoyed our usual walk to Acharavi enjoying the warmth and the beautiful scenery. The temperature did its usual thing and plummeted like a stone once the sun started to go down, but we enjoyed a lovely sunset. The evening was its usual star studded self with the absence of the moon
The readings at 9am on 29th. December are:- Temperature 6.2°C and humidity 75% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 15.5°C and the minimum was 5.4°C The maximum humidity was 76% and the minimum 69%

I back at work and online; in South Bucks we have had some sunshine yesterday and today but not suitable to sit out in shorts. The North as you are probably aware have had yet more terrible flooding. You pictures do sure brighten up an English winter even if our max temperatures are only 1-2 degrees below yours.

Good afternoon from Roda. Apologies for the late report but we had a trip into Corfu Town to see the Christmas lights. We left Roda early and it promised to be another lovely day, and so it was in town. It was beautiful and warm with a very pleasant evening temperature. However on returning home and checking the weather monitoring stations around us it must have stayed cool in Roda with the average temperature around the north at 13.5°C. In Corfu this morning it was lovely but there were a lot more clouds than we have had recently, and by the time we had topped Trompeta the sun had all but gone. It felt cooler than recently. We have been following the news of the floods and bad weather in the UK with dismay as we know many of the areas affected. It just makes us more appreciative of what we have here.
The readings at 4pm on 30th. December are:- Temperature 13.3°C and humidity 78% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 13.5°C and the minimum was 5.9°C The maximum humidity was 84% and the minimum 66%

Good morning from Roda. The blue skies have gone to be replaced by clouds, but they are not menacing and we are not expecting much in the way of rain. Though Steve did tell me that he thought there had been a spot or two during the night. Before the light failed last night there was so much mist that Albania had disappeared, but it is back quite clear this morning with some of the peaks picked out by sunshine. They must have some breaks in the cloud over there. Our mountains are fairly hazy and there is not a lot of wind to shift it. The night was slightly warmer than recently. Yesterday got increasingly cloudy as the day wore on so there was no starlit sky or moon to see, but there was enough clear sky left to give an amazing sunset. The forecasts are for some rain to start at the weekend, we need it as we have had to water some of the plants in pots!
The readings at 10am on 31st. December are:- Temperature 8.4°C and humidity 70% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 13.9°C and the minimum was 5.3°C The maximum humidity was 81% and the minimum 74%

I see there is a Greek weather warning of worsening weather and snow over the weekend across the Country; mind you it was very flexible for the Ionians saying temps between 2c and 16c. But areas that don't get snow should expect rain.
Have a Happy and Healthy New Year.

We saw a weather chart yesterday Dave, showing how Storm Frank is pushing warm air right up to the Arctic and forcing cold air back down as far as mainland Greece, so we are in the grips of the same system as you. Who knows what it will do next.

It's your weather Dave - the warm air that was travelling north across the UK has pushed down air from the Arctic straight towards Athens ... I hope your daughter knows who is to blame! I'm sure she'll forgive you though, and we'll do our best too ...
Happy New Year to you both
Steve

Happy New Year to everyone on the forum. This is our good luck Rodi (Pomegranate) hoping it spreads its good luck to all of you. Good morning from Roda. It is a lovely start to the day, we have sunshine and clouds but not much breeze, but it is chilly. Albania is quite clear across the blue/green sea, but our mountains are obscured by mist. It doesn't look like we will be getting much in the way of rain, so we will walk along the beach to Acharavi to get our daily exercise. Yesterday was cold, cloudy and quite damp. There had been more rain overnight than I first thought. The sunset was pretty but unspectacular. The temperature starting plummeting near midnight to give us the coldest temperatures of the day. The readings at 10am on 1st. January 2016 are:- Temperature 6.8°C and humidity 73% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 11.2°C and the minimum was 4.6°C The maximum humidity was 75% and the minimum 64% The reported UV for today is 1 (Range 1- 11)

Good morning from Roda. It is a gorgeous day, there is a lovely blue sky with the clouds sensibly keeping to the periphery. The wind is absent but that means that our mountains are obscured by mist. Across the sea the visibility is good so we have good views of Albania across a fairly calm blue sea. It is warm enough in the sun to have a late breakfast on the balcony. Yesterday was a day of sunshine and clouds, very pleasant when the sun was out but not when it hid behind a cloud. We still had a nice walk to Acharavi and back, stopping at Fuego on the way home. We watch a guy (maybe in his 60's) go for a very long swim across the bay in front of us, in the water for 15 to 20 mins. When he got out he was in no rush to get into dry clothes either! The day didn't have a great sunset, but being very calm didn't feel too cold on our walk back from the village. Yesterday was such a quiet day, very little traffic and even fewer people around. At times all you could here were the waves and the birdsong.
The readings at 10am on 2nd. January 2016 are:- Temperature 7.3°C and humidity 73% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 11.0°C and the minimum was 4.1°C The maximum humidity was 73% and the minimum 59%

Good morning from Roda. What a difference 24 hours can make. This morning we awoke to dismal grey skies, a freshening wind and driving rain. Albania had disappeared on the horizon, and I don't think it was to warmer pastures! Our mountains had gone as well only leaving the foothills in view. As the rain clears our mountains struggle back into view with a topping of clouds, just to go again with the rain. Think it will not be very pleasant up in Strinillas. Yesterday stayed mostly sunny with the clouds increasing slowly throughout the afternoon, we had at one time what looked like a 'mackerel sky'. Though the sunset turned into a non-event. The evening was chilly, but there were breaks in the cloud for the stars, and no wind to chill us more than we were. We still managed a late breakfast and lunch on the balcony though.
The readings at 10am on 3rd. January 2016 are:- Temperature 10.5°C and humidity 81% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 12.2°C and the minimum was 4.5°C The maximum humidity was 73% and the minimum 64%
