Corfu is rapidly becoming an island of flowers again. Today has been distinctly springlike. Windows are being opened and people are sitting in the streets enjoying the sunshine. It has been one of the mildest winters ever and nature is responding. Here are just two of the flowers around at the moment.

Would we be right in saying that the top plant is the Star of Bethlehem. Not sure of the bottom flower, other than it is an Orchid of some sort. Will continue to search.

Hi Chris - the top flower is 'Ipheion' - sand flower, I think. It grows everywhere around the coast in Corfu. The orchid? - I need help.

Whatever the names are they are still beautiful..(we call the Orchid one "a flag")..we have Crocus blooming and mini Iris and the Daffs are well on their way........but how good for the people to be able to sit out and soak up the sun..........we can open our door, look out, then shut it on the quick!!!............Kaz

I did think of the Ipheion, which is a relative of the Onion family. It could also be known as the Tristagma Uniflorum, which accounts for the white flower, rather than the usual blue tint to purple flower of the main breed.
Still looking for the Orchid.

The second orchid is possibly the 'early spider orchid' - (ophrys sphegodes). Still looking for the others.

It is obviously a blossom of some kind, but Balotinia eludes me. I have tried searching for it but nothing comes up. Do you know if it bears a fruit or similar later, or is it just there for the blossom. Looks a beautiful tree or shrub with its full blooms.
