I read everything. This year bringing one of Barack Obama's autobiographies, also 2 books about peoples experiences moving to Greece. Probably will also throw in a couple of romances/detective novels. I read when John sleeps. Bev. ;D ;D

It depends I might go for a romantic novel or an autobiography depending on how much I want to go into a dream world!! lol You can never go wrong with a classic mills & boon as they aren't huge books but keep you interested by the pool and still believing that maybe Mr Right is still out there somewhere!! lol Rach

hi i am reading victoria hislops" the return" at the moment and its very good, this is her second novel after "the island", which was about leppers who lived on spinilonga an little island off the coast of crete, and that was fantastic, i can recommend them both. if you like detective novels i can recommend peter james, or simon kernick if you like to be kept on the edge of your seat happy reading x

Every year on our way to Roda, we stay with Julie's Dad and I catch up with an old friend in Tunbridge Wells. Last year, he recommended a good book he had been reading but, as we were flying the next day, I didn't get chance to look for it. However, we did order it from Amazon and I am now the proud owner of Robert Fisk's 'The Great War for Civilisation' - all 1368 pages of it!! It's a bit like that pile of ironing that got too big - 'avrio' maybe! ;D

Hi Bev my sweet, I am never asleep when you read, i am in a constant state of awearness, in fact i thrive on being alert, some say i`m like a coiled spring in a swiss watch ready to pounce to safe gaurd your security and safety at all times. allthough you may see my eyes at rest i am reviewing my S A S training as i find this technique most effective, i do allow myself from time to time to slip into a deeper condition commonly known as sleep to others, but be assured it is for the briefest of moments my other sences are hightened at this stage of course and has taken many years to perfect and am sworn to secrecy on how it works. My own personal reading prefereces are weekly editions of the Beano and Dandy.

I usually take a few books with me - a couple of thrillers & horror books & a smattering of mills & boon. One book I took a couple of years ago was 'To Corfu with love' . ( I think that was the title) it was absolutely superb & I gave it to one of the ladies at the Pirates Bar when I had finished - a definite must read for Corfu lovers - but have those tissues ready!

Janet
I'll have to see if I can get hold of a copy of that book sounds like it could be a good read, I read a mills and boon once that was set on Corfu which was a really good book, I finished it in an afternoon by Alexandros Pool. I can't remember what the book was called though but I will look into it and see if I can find out the title.

That would be brill - mills & boon is the only romance I get!!! With 3 young kiddies & an old man who thinks a bag of fish & chips is the height of romance - I take what I can get!

LOL! I know the feeling, Janet.
Good thing about M&B is that they're light reading. I usually bring a load of Take a Break mags with me - girl in my work saves them for me, for going away. At least the stories are short & you don't have to think about what you're reading. I get distracted too easily at the pool, sometimes.

I find it hard to relax full stop - what with the 3 kiddies - & then there is the forty odd years old man who acts like a kid on holiday & is worse than the other 3 put together! Still - usually by the second or third day I decide its 'c'est la vie' & let them get on with it!
