Bad news for coffee-lovers everywhere - easyJet has done a deal with Starbucks to serve their coffee on its flights.

Sounds like a contradiction in terms. Starbucks- coffee. I don't think so.

It wont be a problem for us - when we book a cheap "flight only" deal that is precisely what we get - we dont give them another penny of our hard-earned money for their over-priced drinks/snacks!

Regards, Kath. Good for you Kath - I must admit, when we flew with easyJet last year, I think that we had water with us and had something to eat at the airport. That was mainly because we hadn't flown with them before and didn't know what to expect. Having been wth them now, I would buy a sandwich and a drink but definitely not a coffee! Prices at the airport are pretty much on a par with the on board ones and for us, the less we have to carry the better! Julie

The great thing for us is that we live just a 10 minute drive from Newcastle airport so can always have a meal before leaving home and as the longest flight we have ever been on was to Cyprus, we have always been able to 'last' until landing to get further eats/drinks. That is not to say that we have never had a tea/coffee in the aiport prior to boarding. I think one of our main bugbears is trying to juggle eats/drinks on the tiny flipdown table - we find it easier and cheaper to do without.
Regards, Kath.

Is this topic aimed at Easyjet or Starbucks? It is not long ago that people on this site in its present and previous form were pleading with Easyjet to fly to Corfu on a regular basis (how many people thought it would be daily/twice daily from three airports in its second year?) Yes, its optional prices are high but you don't have to spend any of your hard earned money on them. If Easy jet were to pull out of the routes to Corfu next year how many of us would be able to travel there regularly in the future? What is the choice cheap flights or cheap snacks and coffee?

Personally Steve, we applaud easyJet and what they have done for Corfu. If independent travellers are to form a significant part of the scene, then we need more flights like these in the future. The tie-up with Starbucks seems to be out of character - one go-ahead airline joining forces with what has become known as 'the cafe for people who don't like coffee'. Maybe it is a clever ploy to dispense with in-flight catering altogether.
