About 10,000 customers had bookings with Freedom Direct Holidays when it ceased trading on April 16. The UK Civil Aviation Authority said it did not yet know how many of the 10,000 were covered by Freedom’s Atol, which it held until March 31, when it was not renewed.
Freedom sold packages under its Atol but also acted as an agent selling flights, accommodation and packages on behalf of airlines, tour operators and accommodation suppliers. Those holidays will not be covered.
We know that people were booked through Freedom for holidays in Corfu and any customers due to travel should lodge a claim with the CAA for consideration under the Atol scheme.

How are we to know if their ATOL Licences have expired? I bet anyone who booked with them AFTER the expiry date but BEFORE they went bust were not told that they were no longer covered by ABTOL. JackieM

I think if you were unlucky enough to get caught up in something like this, you would be made aware of such facts. It would have to be disclosed by the Administrators or who ever took over.
