... but will it be in with the new? I believe that a new Queen Elizabeth will be built and that it's first itinerary has been published. It doesn't include Corfu yet, but let's hope that it will return in the first full year of cruising.

The new Queen Elizabeth is being built in Italy, and will have a displacement of 90400 tonnes, with 2092 passengers, in 1046 rooms or cabins. The QE is due into service at Southampton in October 2010 with her maiden voyage to the Canary Islands, sailing on the 12th October. The original QE was built in 1938, and was withdrawn from service in 1968, when she became a University in Hong Kong, but sadly caught fire, and eventually sank. The QE2 was planned to be called the Queen Elizabeth, but there was an error, and her majesty the Queen named it after herself, hence it became the Queen Elizabeth II. The new QE will be sistered by the Queen Mary, and the Queen Victoria. Here is a link from our local press with some pictures of the new, QUEEN ELIZABETH. Click on the pictures. Yeiamas, Chris
