If you are coming to Corfu and either you or a member of your group is a ‘Blue Badge’ carrier then it is always worth bringing it out with you, unless it is being used in an airport car park!
If you hire a car, then as long as the Badge holder is with you, take along the Badge. You can use it to park for free in most car parks on the island. There are not so many reserved spaces and any that do exist are either allocated to a designated car or are occupied by non-Badge holders. There is not yet the recognition among the population as to why these spaces are provided.
You will need to be quick in showing your Badge when approaching a ticket office, as the receipt is being written as you move forward. Do not worry about having to explain the Badge. It is recognised by the car park attendants.
Leave the Badge on display, as is normal in the UK. This is especially important for on-street controlled spaces, around the market for example, as fines will be issued if you don’t.
