Good morning from Sfakera; just a small drop in the temperature overnight despite the clouds mostly dispersing; we have a heavy dew, it is still and the sun is rising. There are some white clouds around but not many. Albania is just a shadow covered in a haze. The sea is grey and calm. As we approach 9am it is 19.2c.
Yesterday the sun did finally poke through the clouds around 10am and it looked like it would clear to be like Wednesday. It was a very pleasant walk to Acharavi in the sun with the lightest of breezes. Returning home there was noticeably more cloud to the SW and W and the sun lessened. My washing was put out to dry and did so as a light wind picked up. AFter 1pm it was becoming darker and the sky was becoming more grey in the SW. I kept an eye on it as my washing was out. Around 2:15 the wind suddenly became stronger; I rushed outdoors to get the washing in (now dry). While doing this some things like a bucket were being blown around the garden as the wind became very strong and gusty....probably F5-6. It was clear a storm was coming in as rumbles of thunder were now to be heard. One of my dogs, not liking the winds and thunder ran indoors and hid; the other laid down under a tree. I went to encourage him indoors and just as we got inside so the heavens opened and we had torrential rains for about 40 minutes......thunder as well. The visibility rapidly dropped so I couldn't see Albania nor the sea from my balcony. Come 3:20 it started to ease; this due to the fact that the strong winds just suddenly dropped to stillness; before increasing to a light shower which eventually stopped around 5pm. Thereafter it very slowly began to clear in the West and we had a glimpse of the sun as it was setting at 7pm; leaving a yellow sky on the horizon. There were very few stars to be seen due to the clouds but there were some to the West and the amount slowly increased as the clouds moved away during the night.
The maximum temperature was just 21.5c and the minimum was 17.5c

Good morning from Sfakera where it is similar to yesterday. Less cloud around apart from over the hazy Albania and a few over our own peaks, The air is still, the sun is up glistening on the dew soaked verges. The sea looks a light grey and is very calm. It was 19.7c at 10am.
Yesterday the clouds dispersed to form a large fluffy mass over Albania which became clearer as they day passed. There were also a handful of large grey fluffy clouds over our own peaks and they stayed there most of the day. The sun shone all day and down on Roda beach there was a very gentle breeze. Just ripples as the sea lapped the shore. A good number were enjoying the day either on sun loungers or swimming in the sea. A very bright yellow ball, almost orange on its edges, was the sun as it set slowly leaving a light yellow ribbon of sky to the west which turned more orange as the daylight faded into night. The moon was very bright and more stars were in view than the previous night.
The maximum temperature was 25.0c and the minimum was 19.1c.

Good morning from Sfakera where it is fresh with a heavy dew. The sun is up, the air is still but there is a thickish sea fog almost hiding Albania. It is almost cloudless and the sea is looking flat and grey. It is 19.1c at 9:45am. The forecast predicts these late summer days will continue for a few more days with temperatures hitting 30c in Crete and stay around 25c here on Corfu.
Yesterday the clouds over our peaks caused shady periods during the morning as the sun moved around but the afternoon was full on sunshine with just the gentlest of breezes. Maybe a little more breeze at sea as several yachts could be seen enjoying the conditions. Albania became clearer though the clouds above it became a bit bigger. Again there was a bright yellow/orange sunset followed by a lovely lighter yellow/orange and purple sky. The full moon rose was high in the southern sky as night fell and gradually seemed to get brighter leaving big shadows on the unlit areas. The stars were also looking very bright. The early evening was mild but after 10pm the temperature began to fall away quicker though it was never really chilly as the air was still.
The maximum temperature was 26.0c and the minimum was 18.5c.

Good morning from Sfakera where it is very similar start to yesterday. The sea fog is a bit thinner giving Albania the same appearance you see in mid summer when there is humidity and haze. The dew is heavy, the air is still and the calm sea a bit greyer than yesterday. The sun is up but it is just 17.3c as we approach 9am.
Yesterday was a lovely day. SOme clouds built up over our peaks late morning; probably caused by the evaporating dew from the trees. The olive trees are wonderful this time of year; dark grey almost black at dawn and turning green as the day breaks and lighter still as the sun shines on them. As the dew leaves the leaves so they turn silver green in colour before returning to green as the sun leaves them before sunset. Walking in the olive groves is a delight especially during October. The sun was shining all day and there was just a gentle breeze. Again we had a bright yellow/orange sunset followed by a light yellow sky. The moon was again full and bright as were the abundance of stars.
The maximum temperature was 25.2c and the minimum was 17.5c.

Good morning from Sfakera where the mini Indian Summer continues and each day is very much the same as the previous. AGain there is a sea fog but Albania can be made out; the sea is calm and grey, the air is damp but still; there is another heavy dew. There are few clouds around and the sun is up. It is 18.5c at 9:30am.
Yesterday was another lovely sunny day. Again as the dew evaporated so some big clouds built over our hills behind and as I looked further across to the Pantocrator hills there was a slight haze. It was however a day of full sunshine with just a gentle breeze. The locals are out gardening or clearing the weeds etc from under the olive trees ready to lay their nets. In Acharavi work has been done clearing the culverts so the winter rains can run directly to the sea without gathering up weeds and rubbish or worse still flooding (though unlikely as they are quite deep going under the main road). The sunset was again like previous days and the sky again a light yellow then turning purple and grey as night falls. The moon is still very bright as are the stars; although there was a build up of very thin low grey cloud behind the village over the hills. It seems the weather may continue well into the week...…..and we hope it does.
The maximum was 25.1c and the minimum was 17.2c.

Good morning from Sfakera where it really is the case of same again. The difference today is just there was cloud cover capping an almost invisible Albania first thing. It is clearing and by 10:30 Albania was visible. The sea is grey and calm, the air is damp and still with another heavy dew. At 10am it was 19.1c. Migrating birds are arriving; yesterday saw the robin who was in my garden last winter return; sitting in the same place singing his songs.
Yesterday was very much as the previous days; lovely and sunny with a build up of greyish fluffy clouds over our hills during the morning. They stayed there all day and some in mid afternoon came away towards the coast but they soon dispersed. We again had the bright yellow/orange sunset and the same lighter yellow sky on the horizon once the sun had set. Just a gentle breeze in the day and still in the evening; in fact it was very pleasant walking out last night without the need even for a light jumper.
Temperatures are almost the same each day as well; yesterday the maximum was 25.1c and the minimum was 17.8c.

Good morning from Sfakera where it is a very damp feel to the day; the dew is very heavy with drip off the trees and the grass glistening in the morning sun with the drop of water looking like pearls. The seas fog is thicker too with Albania barely visible. There are a few strips of very high thin white cloud to the North otherwise it is a blue sky. The air is still but full of birdsong and chainsaws in the olive groves. It was 17.9c at 9am.
Yesterday was another lovely day with full on sunshine. Late morning a handful of clouds over the Pantocrator range and these increased and moved towards the North East but started to evaporate as soon as they went over the sea; which again was very flat. Sat at Oscars the sun was full on and it felt very warm. Mid afternoon the fluorescent sign at Tropicana was showing 30c; clearly not the ambient temperature or even the real feel but does indicate it was a nice day with just a very gentle breeze. There was the now usual yellow/orange sunset followed by a light yellow horizon that slowly turned purple and grey as night fell. The moon is still bright as were the stars on what was another mild late evening.
The maximum temperature was 24.9c and the minimum was 17.7c.

Good morning from Sfakera where it is very much the same again. A very heavy dew, still damp air, the sun up. Albania almost hidden behind the sea fog and hardly a cloud to be seen. The sea is flat and grey. It is 18.5c at 9.30am.
Yesterday as the dew cleared; it never really completely goes as the grass is wet all day; so clouds appeared above our peaks. Some of them floated over to the sea blocking out the sun for short periods. When the sun was fully out it was lovely and those who are here on holiday are having a great time, on the beach, in the sea, walking or travelling around the Island. Several places have closed in Roda during the day now but there are still plenty open for those who are here. The work in the olive groves goes ahead with the constant sound of chainsaws and tractors tooing and froing with wood or small branches or just ground clearance...…...fires are not yet allowed to burn the waste. The afternoon was very pleasant and there was no breeze here in the village. We had another glourious bright yellow/orange sunset followed by a light yellow sky turning orange, purple and grey. The starlit night was mild; bats can be seen flying around especially near to the street lights. Last night while on my balcony watching the bats I saw a Barn Owl fly past; always a lovely sight with the moon like white of body and wings and so so silent.
The maximum temperature was 24.2c and the minimum was 17.5c.

Good morning from Sfakera an earlier report as I'm off to Adonis in Acharavi to watch the Rugby this morning. AGain there has been a heavy dew and it is fresh, damp and still. Slightly less sea fog makes Albania a bit clearer as the sun starts to rise just reaching Agnos and Roda but not yet here in the village. 17.3c at 8:30am.
Yesterday was again similar to the previous days. The clouds that formed over both Albania and our peaks were much bigger than recent, fluffy and mostly white with light grey centres. They did come down towards the lower peaks and we had a few shady periods towards lunchtime. The sea stayed flat and the air had just a hint of a breeze very much like the previous days. The sunset is getting noticeably earlier as we approach clock changing time (why we still do it I don't really know). It was bright yellow with just hints of orange around the rim as it set. There was then another yellow horizon turning slowly purple before night fell leaving us with another mild starlit night.
The maximum was 24.7c and the minimum was 17.1c.

Good morning from Sfakera; an early start today as I am off out with the villagers on a day trip. We are going to the Kapodistrias Museum this morning followed by going into Corfu Town for late lunch or shopping before returning home late afternoon. It is again a very damp dew start; the grass, plants, metal gates and fences are all covered in water droplets. The air is still, sea flat. Albania a bit more visible today and some high white very thin layers of cloud are about but looking like they will clear when the sun rises. Just 17.2c t 8am.
Yesterday the walk to Acharavi at 9:30 was lovely; a bit of a chill feel in the shade of the damp olives trees on the roadsides and a smell of the dampness. In the sun when on more open road it was warm. The nice sunny morning lasted while very large fluffy and grey clouds built up over the hills and Pantocrator peaks. By late morning they had blocked out the sun giving shade with the odd sunny interval but it was still warm and pleasant. Between the games a stroll to the beach which was quiet. Some places were closed or closing while Fuego was open as usual. By mid afternoon the clouds were slowly clearing to the NE and the sun returned and it was a very nice stroll home in the sun. The now usual bright yellow/orange sun and lighter sky before it turned purple and grey; we are spoilt now as we just expect it everyday. Again there was also a lovely starlit night.
The maximum temperature was 23.8 and the minimum was 17.2c.

Good morning from Sfakera where it is again damp and fresh with a heavy dew. The sea fog in much thinner today and Albania clearly visible. The air is still and the sun is rising into a cloudless sky accompanied by birdsong and chainsaws. The sea again flat and looking more blue than off late as a cruise ship sails north in the distance. 17.1c at 8:30am so it is still very warm for the time of year.
Yesterday as we drove towards Corfu the sun was up. On top of Troumpeta we could see hills of cypresses sticking out the top of layers of heavy mist through the Ropa Valley and down towards Town. The sun was above them shining down. It was a very pleasant morning at the Museum and the small grounds are delightful; large nice smelling pines providing shade over the outside seating area and café; the views through gaps in the trees are amazing. The quietness was noticeable too. Moving onto Town the sun was now full and the mists had gone; it was cloudless though we could see white fluffy clouds on the northern side of the Pantocrator range. We stopped at Platyera Monastery where Kapodistrias is entombed before moving onto Kanoni. Here it was buzzing; many locals and tourists having drinks or meals as the planes flew low nearby into and out of the airport. The little boats still doing a trade to Mouse Island (Pontikonisi) and Vlacherna with its little white convent and single cypress tree having many visitors walking to and fro. It certainly felt warmer here than it has been in Roda as there was no morning clouds to block the rising sun. Lunch was taken in a Taverna along Garitsa Bay; only a few yachts anchored there now but the Pirate Ship was still out and looking full. The red tour buses also had good numbers on considering there was just one cruise ship in Town. The bay itself was so calm and flat it looked like a very large ice rink with the sun shining across the water. Our final stop was on the Liston which was buzzing as usual on a Sunday late afternoon. Children playing on the cricket ground while their parents were sipping coffees under the umbrellas while tour parties from the cruise ship wandered past. A pleasant drive back to Sfakera in the sun arriving back about 5:45pm to enjoy the last of the sun before another bright yellow/orange sunset and a light yellow sky. After night fall it was a bright and fully starlit sky.
The maximum temperature here was 24c (it was 27c in Town) and the minimum was 16.9c.

Good morning from Sfakera where it is 2c cooler than of late and you can feel it; less dew as well, just on the ground no droplets visible on the metal gates or fences today. Almost no sea fog and the sun rising into a cloudless sky. There is the hint of a breeze as well. The sea looks flat and blue as the sun now covers it and arrives in Roda. Just 15.7c at 8:30am.
Yesterday was the best day so far of this long Indian Summer as it remained cloudless, breezeless here in the village and full of sun. Chainsaws were the noise of the day a.nd seem to be today as well. They are working behind my house to the annoyance of my dogs; mind you they were annoyed by goings on all night too. Must have been a beech marten around, possibly after the dormice in the walnut trees. left me almost sleepless before I go to work at recycling but a nice rest this afternoon in the sun will be called for. Back to yesterday full on sunshine all day; a very calm sea. A bright yellow sunset followed by the usual lighter yellow/orange sky on the horizon, turning purple before grey and night fall. Again a perfect night for stargazers.
The maximum temperature was 24.5c and the minimum was 16.9c.

Good morning from Roda. The lovely weather that Dave has been reporting is continuing un-abated. We awoke to clear cloudless skies a warming sun and not much of a breeze. The sea is calm with Albania quite clear across the channel, though there is some haze, which seems to have remained constant since our arrival back home. Last night was clear and starlit with a large crescent moon, gradually cooling but still only needing a cardigan for evening strolls.
I have a new weather station and am letting it settle in after being in the camper. I will hopefully be happy enough with it to use the data tomorrow. I must thank Dave for so ably doing the weather report whilst Steve and I were on our travels. It is very much appreciated and we enjoyed keeping up with them as we relaxed on the many campsites we used.
Yesterday was a lovely temperature with clear skies throughout the entire day. The sea was calm and still a nice temperature so we could get in a couple of swims before the sun got too low in the sky. Those last-minute end of season visitors enjoying the sun must have thought themselves well pleased to have it so nice so late in October.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Wednesday 23rd. October 2019 was 20.1°C. Real feel 20°C. Yesterday's maximum temperature was 25°C and the minimum was 15.0°C.
The maximum temperature this day in 2018 was 22.8°C and the minimum 14.8°C a day of mostly cloud, with some blue patches with little wind. The reported UV for Today is 4 (Range 1- 11+)
UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around the summer solstice).
DEW POINT Less than 10°C feels dry Between 10°C and 18°C Feels comfortable Between 18°C and 26°C Feels increasingly humid and uncomfortable. At the highest it is unhealthy and even fatal for people with asthma
RODA AND CORFU TEMPERATURE EXTREMES The maximum temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2018 was 33.0°C real feel 35°C on 8th.June real feel 35°C. The minimum temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2018 was 2.9°C January 25th (not forgetting we are away for two of the coldest months) The maximum recorded temperature ever in Corfu was 42.8°C The lowest recorded temperature was -8.8°C
