The annual Roda Cup for beach volleyball was again held this last weekend on the court by El Mar. Everyone who watched seemed to enjoy the matches and the winners were declared in a noisy fanfare of fireworks and streamers. Sorry didn't manage to get any details but I got a few photos. The men enjoy the fit young girls in their costumes whilst the women bemoan the long shorts worn by the lads. Such is life.

Jan was hoping to see you on court in your skimpy shorts and yellow shirt, Dave - it was a big disappointment to find you'd gone home!

The 2019 Roda Cup takes place on the 20th and 21st July. Well worth a stop to watch if you are in Roda. They play so well and it is usually very hot as well.

The volley ball tournament seemed much reduced this year, and Steve was always unlucky in that we always seemed to miss the girls matches. The men play in long T-shirts and baggy shorts, no fun compared to the tiny outfits the girls wear. A bit sexist I know, but hey! It brings people to Roda to watch the teams and raises our village profile, so long may it last we say.
