Good morning from Roda. And so the wonderful weather continues, and the early tourist are enjoying this lovely late spring warmth. We got up to blue skies thread with some thin wispy clouds not hindering the warmth of the sun. It had been quite a cool night and we had condensation on our bedroom windows this morning. There is a gentle breeze and a calm sea. The haze is still present but I think we can see Albania slightly clearer today. It is shaping up to another day at the beach and a swim. Yesterday stayed beautiful all day. Some this high cloud came and went, as did the breeze. There were pretty white horses out to sea when the breeze was at its strongest, but by dusk the sea was flat calm again. The sunset was soft, hazy and pastel. The evening was quite mild and there were a few people enjoying their evening meal on the beach decking at Pirates.

Good morning from Roda. The settled weather continues, with hazy sunshine, blue skies, a calm sea and a gentle breeze. It still feels a little cool in the shade but in full sun it is baking hot. The evenings are mild with the temperature only dropping towards dawn, giving us some condensation on the bedroom window. Despite these temperatures Stacey at Pirates still has the heating on in the evening, she says, until June! Our apartment has open windows and doors from first thing until around 6-7pm.
Yesterday stayed lovely all day, the sun shone from morning till night with only a few wispy high clouds marring the blueness. The afternoon breeze got up as usual to ruffle the sea a bit, but it all died away by early evening to give us a calm sea and no wind. The haze though is persisting, with some of the Albanian mountains appearing to float above the sea at times. The evening was mild only a light jacket required. We enjoy these end of April days with light mild evenings for walks to and from the village. The bustle of the day has gone and it is so peaceful.

Good morning from Roda. This lovely weather continues, with the morning showing all the promise of late. We have blue cloudless skies, a calm wind and an even calmer sea. The general haze persists with Albania just about an outline across the channel. The day is warming up nicely and though still a mite cool in the shade, in the sun it is roasting, I can see another few hours spent on the beach with a swim included.
Yesterday stayed lovely all day, sunshine and gentle winds and a calm sea. The haze persisted all day, with even what looked like low lying sea fog enveloping Sidari for a while. We did see some thin high clouds appear, and some denser ones gathering to the south west towards Ipsos. However by the end of the afternoon it had mostly all cleared away, leaving some low lying haze towards Albania. A hazy pastel sunset led onto a clear night with a 2/3 moon riding high. The sea had calmed to a mill pond reflecting the lights from around the bay.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Friday 27th April 2018 was 17.6°C, real feel 18°C, and the humidity 77% giving a dew point of 14°C.

Good morning from Roda. Somebody turned the dial on the oven up this morning. It feels hot and sultry. We have a slightly stiffer breeze so the sea is a bit more ruffled than usual at this time. The haze has thinned a bit so we can see Albania in more detail. We have some thin high clouds but they are not interfering with the power of the sun. We have dug out another parasol as one isn't enough in this heat. The wind itself is very warm, it is already the hottest day of the year so far. This sudden hot spell has sent the temperature readings from all the weather stations around the island mental, getting readings on Wunderground now anywhere from 23°C to 29°C, usually they vary by only a degree or two. Hoping the sea will be calm enough for a swim, as I think we will need cooling off.
Yesterday was a lovely day, perfect. Just a gentle breeze dying away completely by evening, leaving the sea like a mill pond. Enjoyed a lovely afternoon at the beach with a swim before heading back early to attend a funeral. There were usual high clouds coming and going and haze had lifted so we could see the Diapontian Islands from Almyros. There was an almost full moon last night, but too bright and hazy for all but brightest stars to shine.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Saturday 28th April 2018 was 20.6°C, real feel 21°C, and the humidity 73% giving a dew point of 16°C.

Good morning from Roda. The clear skies of yesterday have gone. We had 100% cloud clover this morning when we awoke, with a breeze that was stirring the trees and ruffling the sea. It was a warmer night with the temperature only dropping to 16°C. The haze is back despite a drop in the humidity, which is making it feel fresher this morning despite the temperature still being in the 20's. As I am writing this the sky is starting to clear so it may still be nice for the first block of visitors arriving today at Roda Beach Hotel.
Yesterday was scorching hot all day. Our temperature on our balcony didn't reach the heights of some reported ones, but believe me it was hot! We had to have more than ne swim to keep cool. Thankfully the sea was quite calm, but still a bit on the cool side (some might say cold), but once in and a few strokes done it is fine. Thin high cloud began to thicken by the mid-afternoon, and continued to do so until we had proper clouds by the evening. Our early evening walk into the village was perfect, the sea was calm and Albania a beautiful scenario of mountain ridges in shades of grey. It looked like a water colour. Our walk back was under an almost full moon with the lights around the bay reflected in the flat calm sea. No jacket required as it didn't get down to 20°C until after 10pm.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Sunday 29th April 2018 was 22.1°C, real feel 22°C, and the humidity 53% giving a dew point of 13°C.
The maximum temperature this day last year was 18.8°C and the minimum 15.1, a windy day with a few spots of rain later.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 25.2°C (real feel 27°C), and the minimum was 15.6°C , the humid dew point of 20°C. The maximum humidity was 78% and the minimum 59%.
The reported UV for today is very high at 6 ( Range 1- 11+). The sun can really catch you out this early in the season. So if you are lucky enough to be here now please use that sunscreen.

As I was writing the report for today I could hear a flock of Bee-eaters crossing from west to east behind the apartment. They are such beautiful birds if you are lucky enough to see them. Beautifully coloured plumage in the males. They fly in the opposite direction at night to their roosts. There must be many insects for them to eat due to these lovely temperatures we are having. We are seeing loads of insects at ground level, the cicadas seem more numerous, and our plant pots are being targeted by burrowing wasps, and bees everywhere. Talking of birds we stood and watched a white egret fishing in the stream by Makris apartments. That stream is full of small mullet at the moment. It is also full of serenading frogs, giving quite a chorus on an evening.

Good morning from Roda. We have another cloudy start to the day. Unlike yesterday there is no breeze, and the sea is flat calm. Albania is just an outline in the haze across the channel, and there is a general haziness here. The sun is trying hard to break through the cloud's defences. It is just so quiet, even the birds and cicadas are singing at half volume.
Yesterday started off cloudy and breezy, but the sun did break through and the clouds mostly disperse to give us a pretty decent and hot day, with a slightly humid feel to it. In fact it was the hottest day of the year so far with the temperature in the shade at 27°C. By the afternoon only thin high clouds were left that kept coming and going. By the time of the sunset we had a clear sky so it was nothing special. The wind had died down to nothing and the sea became becalmed. However on our walk back from the village there was a full moon playing hide and seek with the clouds to give a beautiful mild evening. No shoulder covering required. There were a lot more lights around the bay as the resorts start waking up with the arrival of the first influx of tourists. The night itself was very hot with the bedroom temperature at 24°C when we woke up.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Monday 30th April 2018 was 23.0°C, real feel 23°C, and the humidity 68% giving a dew point of 17°C.
The maximum temperature this day last year was 19.3°C and the minimum 14.1, a cloudy and windy day
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 26.8°C (real feel 28°C), and the minimum was 16.3°C , the humid dew point of 19°C. The maximum humidity was 65% and the minimum 50%.

Good morning from Roda. It is absolutely gorgeous here for the Protomaio (1st. of May), so kalo mena to everyone. It is looking like it will be a lovely night for the village festival tonight. We are promised roast lamb on the spit, souvlaki, loukamades - Greek doughnuts, a bar and of course the band playing traditional music. I expect there will be a local dance group in traditional costume as well. Back to the weather. It started off cloudless with no wind and a flat calm sea with a deep indigo strip just in front of a barely visible Albania. Since then the breeze has got up a bit and the sea has become ruffled. We still have a bit of haze around.
Yesterday the clouds gave way to the sun so we had a beautiful hot afternoon. We spent it on a beach under the parasol. It was so warm when we had to get into the sea as soon as we got set up. The sea has remained calm, so we managed our first swim across Ekaterina bay and back again, probably around 150m. What little breeze died down and sea became mirror like by evening. I missed the sunset, and the night sky showed neither a moon nor stars so assuming the clouds had come over. It was still mild though with the temperature at 11pm was still 19°C.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Tuesday 1st May 2018 was 20.1°C, real feel 20°C, and the humidity 67% giving a dew point of 14°C.
The maximum temperature this day last year was 17.6°C and the minimum 15.0, a mostly sunny day but cool and misty for the festival.

Good morning from Roda. It is a lovely morning here we have blue skies that are starting to cloud over, quite a warm breeze blowing in from the south, a ruffled sea and Albania emerging as a few interesting mountain ridges. Going to be yet another glorious day, though we do have rain forecast for tomorrow. The photo is of my stephanie a may day wreath to be done on the 1st of May and hung on your house for protection.
Yesterday was lovely with wall to wall sunshine and the Greek families filling the beaches and the even the sea for their traditional May day trip to the beach. Almyros was busier than some days in high season! We had some cloud late afternoon but the sunset didn't take advantage and the sky cleared for the evening. We had a moon just going passed its full moon stage and a few of the brighter stars shining. It felt chilly if sat out in it but it was still 18°C at 11.30pm.

Good morning from Roda. We have clouds and have had a gentle shower since we got up. It has now dried up to give us a cloudy, breezy but bright day. There was a storm in the small hours with strong gusts of wind rattling the shutters. I am sure I heard heavy rain at times, but there is no sign this morning so it may have been in my dreams. It may be completely cloudy but it is still very warm and we have a forecast UV factor of 8. This unsettled weather is due to continue for another 24 hours. Although to be fair it isn't forecast to be wet the whole time, with the rain due this afternoon and overnight in showers. Despite the clouds it is very bright out there.
Yesterday was mostly lovely and sunny all day, but there were spells of cloudiness but they would disperse and the sun would shine again. It was very warm all day despite it being a bit breezy at times with the temperature touching 27°C. The sea was beautiful and calm to look at but cold as the southerly wind had pushed the warmer surface water further out into the channel. Despite that we still managed three good swims. By the end of the afternoon we had an almost clear sky, however clouds returned and we had a subdued sunset. The evening was very warm with the temperature in the low 20's.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Thursday 3rd May 2018 was 23.5°C, real feel 24°C, and the humidity 61% giving a dew point of 16°C.

Good morning from Roda. We have a bright but cloudy start to the day. There are good patches of blue and it is forecast to be dry for the day. It is still quite breezy from the south and there is a lot of haze between us and Albania. The sea is calm and a beautiful jade colour. Our hills are not so hazy and they appear to be holding back the clouds over Ipsos. It is a much cooler morning than recently but still around normal for the time of year.
Yesterday's rain and stormy weather never appeared. That rain I thought I heard during the night was purely the wind, so pleased that Steve staked our newly planted peppers, aubergines and cucumbers. There was a spot of rain around 9am but it didn't amount to anything, and, although the clouds came down the mountainsides and looked threatening, nothing came of it! In fact in the afternoon it got out quite nice with good patches of sunshine. The sunset was different in that the sun looked like a silver disc hiding behind the cloud cover as it slid behind the headland. The night was dry with clouds but quite clear with a calm sea and the breeze dying away completely. It is lovely to see people eating there evening meals on the beach terraces.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Friday 4th May 2018 was 20.5°C, real feel 21°C, and the humidity 62% giving a dew point of 14°C.

Good morning from Roda. We were woken by the flash and crash of a thunderstorm just as it was getting light, might even have been a bit before then. It continued for several hours until it all petered out around eight. We now have 100% cloud cover with the clouds well down the mountainsides so Perithia and Strinillas will be in the clouds. Albania is hiding behind a bank of cloud across the flat calm sea as we have no wind at the moment. There is a stillness and quiet about the place this morning. It feels fresh after the hot weather we have had recently, but it is still 20°C as I write this and the UV for today is forecast to be 8, high!
Yesterday started off quite cloudy, but the blue patches increased pushing the clouds away from our bit of Corfu. We spent a very pleasant afternoon on the beach with a couple of swims. However the clouds returned by late afternoon and by early evening they covered the sky. The evening was warm and calm, with the sea only having miniscule waves, and the breeze having died away as usual. The fireflies were more numerous twinkling away in our garden and the fields that surround us. The haze was still with us as Albania was absent from the proceedings. It was a mild night with the late evening temperature a pleasant 19°C at 11.30.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Saturday 5th May 2018 was 19.7°C, real feel 20°C, and the humidity 72% giving a dew point of 16°C.

Yesterday's maximum temperature was 24.0°C (real feel 25°C), and the minimum was 16.6°C , a dew point of 16°C. The maximum humidity was 66% and the minimum 58%.

Good morning from Roda. It is a cloudy but bright start to the day here. The is just about a breeze and the sea looks calm. Albania has disappeared in the haze across the channel and our hills are slightly so but are just touching the clouds. Pantokrator would be in them. It feels cool compared to recent temperatures but is average for this time of year.
Yesterday's thunderstorm had passed over by breakfast time, but the heavy clouds down the mountainsides remained dark and threatening for some time. By early afternoon it did start to brighten and we had a few fleeting blue patches. By late evening the skies had cleared enough that we could get a glimpse of stars in the gaps between the clouds. The temperature hadn't dropped much so the evening felt quite mild.

Good morning from Roda. We have a lovely start to the day here. There is a lovely pale blue sky dusted with white clouds. There is a gentle breeze and the sea looks calm even though I can hear waves hitting the shore. despite the high humidity Albania has emerged from haze and you can see the details of the mountains, ridges and villages for the first time in quite a while. Our hills are a bit hazy but that is probably just the time of day. We hear that you have amazing weather back in the UK, enjoy it whilst you can and don't get sun burnt.
Yesterday was a much better day than forecast. We were forecast to have rain and thunderstorms for much of the day. OK, the day started dry but with ominous clouds sitting on the hills behind us. However it looked quite bright, and the clouds did ease to give us a nice afternoon with good sunny spells. However by late afternoon the mountain villages had disappeared again. There was gentle rain by mid-evening with no breeze, but waves were developing. By 9pm the rain was decidedly heavy and there was the promised thunder storm. But the lightning and the thunder both seemed far off on the mainland. The heavy rain was short lived, but the thunder and especially the lightning lasted longer. Though by the end of the evening it had all gone. It was a mild evening with the temperature holding around 19°C.

Good morning from Roda. It is all change again as we awoke to a cloudy and hazy day feeling fresh. There is 100% cloud cover with only one or two brighter bits, the haze is such that there isn't a clear defining line between sea and sky or land. Albania is barely hinted at. There is no wind and I am convinced that there was some rain during the night as a towel I hung out is decidedly wetter this morning than last night, but the paths etc. are dry. We are supposed to be due some thunder, but we shall wait and see because it might just miss us as the wind is coming from the south so the storm might be held back by the mountains behind us.
Yesterday turned out to not bad at all. Despite the cloudy start we ended up with lots of sunshine and warm weather. The cool shade temperatures are catching people out, as in the sun it is much hotter, and with that high UV of 8 we are seeing lots of lobster skin! The afternoon breeze did its usual thing before dying away by early evening. The clouds did start to seriously gather but changed their minds and partially cleared to give us a lovely sunset, giving us pink edged waves. It was a warm evening still holding at 20°C at 11pm.
