The website said that the new airline will acquire four Embraer aircraft from cheap flights carrier Flybe, with the first set to be delivered in the coming weeks.
Greece's government announced earlier this month that Athens Airways was one of 16 bidders hoping to take over Olympic Airlines' operations after it was revealed that the company would be liquidated.
The start-up carrier is also interested in acquiring Olympic's ground handling and technical maintenance undertakings.

"Athens Airways, founded in 2008, is a new private airline based in Athens. The main target of Athens Airways is to provide safe, reliable and on time performance to major destinations in Greece, focusing on a high level of services.
Passengers will have the opportunity to enjoy a new level of services before, during and after their flight. All passengers, without any distinction, will enjoy business class benefits and services.
The initial fleet will be made up of 4 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft, which will be delivered to the airline between November 2008 and February 2009.
