If you are a lover of good, authentic, home-made Italian food, then a visit to 'Pixida', right on the Roda crossroads, is an essential during your holiday. Owner, Salvatore, has a menu to die for. Pixida is now in Roda Pages on:

Steve is right - Pixida is a lovely restaurant and the menu is authentic Italian and the food delicious - we go at least once or twice during our fortnight.

Part of the charm of Pixida is the layout of the restaurant. There are three or four separate areas which are perfect for intimate meals and family groups. I went past last night at 5pm and the chimney overhead was smoking furiously - either there's a new pope or the pizza oven had just been lit. I do know that many British families like to eat soon after 5pm, when Pixida's busiest time is much later. This should mean that you have their undivided attention, but they can't do that if they don't see you. I know it's an Italian restaurant, but be a bit Greek and make yourself known - maybe they just didn't see our 'guest' and his family. Having said that, I went to the grill room last night and I managed to place my order, but I then waited quite a long time for my meal. It's not usual but this is Greece and most of us come here to relax and not be stressed.

You sound like the proverbial Scotsman robbed of his generosity, Dave - how does Linda put up with you?
I have the menu here in front of me and starters range from €1 up to the amazing Tagliere Misto for 2 people at €15, (but worth it) with many authentic Italian antipasti in the €4/5/6 bracket. Pasta dishes are from €7-10, homemade pizzas from €6-10, meat dishes from €8-16, fish around €12, kids menu at €4 and desserts around €4. Don't forget that all this food is sourced locally, prepared in tradtional ways by hand and on the premises. Few others can make such claims. If you want a glass of wine with your meal, then by the glass it's just €2, or a 1/2 carafe for just €5. Try the wonderful Muskat that is made near Corfu Town from the Moschato grape - I have not found this wine in the area for over ten years. Come on Dave - give that lovely wife of yours a treat!

Hey Dave - we start saving for our holiday the minute we get back from our last one - so essentially we save all year - look forward to seeing the new t-shirt - and anyway if anyone can claim to be a rich geordie that would be you - as you own your own piece of paradise (not many of us can say that).
best wishes, Kath.
