Hi, We are coming over to Corfu in July for 1 week. We are staying in Elizabeth Apts in the annex part, which we believe is called Spiretos. I was just wondering as anyone stayed there. We have stayed in the main building 4 times(Elizabeths) but never in the annex. When we read reviews, we seem to be hesitating whether to go. Also as anyone got any photos of them.

I was told in 2011 by Helen that all their rooms have aircon and she does not allow fans.

I also seem to remember reading/hearing somewhere that the annex doesnt have air-con when we considered going there a couple of years ago.
regards, Kath

The Annex doesn't have air con. I've never stayed in the annex but have stayed in the main apartments many times and taken fans lots of times. Luv Jan x

I believe that many people do just that, Jan - I can only relate what Helen said to me some time ago in response to an enquiry.

I'm confused now I will be staying in the main Elizabeth Apartments, rather than the annexe; why would anyone want fans as well as air-con? Is their system a bit duff For those unsure or wanting photos; try www.elizabethroda.com/

Hi Colin Fans are prefered by some people over aircon. I personally do not like aircon, it affects my sinuses and I get bunged up. Also cost of fan is much cheaper than aircon.

We have stayed in the Elizabeth for a a number of years and can testify to the fact that the Air Con works fine. You can adjust the temperature as required and although it isn't everyone's cup of tea and can be seen as a nice to have as opposed to essential, we always cave in and get it otherwise you can't sleep at night as it's just too hot! Helps keep the mozzies at bay as well, they don't seem to like the cool air!

It's air movement that the mozzies don't like, so a fan is the better option ... but I don't think Helen allows them.

Must be psychological then as we don't feel we get bitten as much with the Air Con on! In the 2 room apartments there is an Air Con unit in each room but you need to pay for each but in our experience one has been enough to circulate cool air throughout.

I would choose Air-Con every time - if available. Experience tells me that fans are really not that effective. Maybe it's because I only VISIT warmer climes - and LIVE in the UK most of the time. Chris

Well done, Chris - another guess and that's where the sign is, but where am I standing? I'm not outside of the pharmacy.

I suspect it's the air movement from the aircon unit that does the trick, Chris - this is an interesting link: REPEL MOSQUITOS
