You're quite safe kaz - like most Europeans, the Greeks eat most things - except 'peristeria' - pigeons. I can't remember the reason now, but it's a shame as they are really tasty.

Reminds me of my Greek uncle who used to do lots of cooking for us when I was younger. No matter what I asked him what we was having to eat, the answer would always be " hedgehog pie " or " Pigeon curry ". Although we never ate any of them it was always a good laugh to see our faces after we had cleared the plates and he took great pleasure in winding us up..
