I first visited Corfu in 1990 and stayed in Sidari. This holiday started my love of all things Greek which has grown year-on-year. I usually holiday with my partner in a small, quiet resort on one of the Greek Islands. However, last year my partner had arranged a bike touring holiday with his bike group (The Newcastle Mid-Life Crisis Bikers Group!) and my parents were going to Roda at the same time. I didn't fancy a fortnight on the back of a motorbike, so I took the opportunity to book into the Pegasus Hotel and visit Roda for the first time. As my holiday approached I really didn't know what to expect, but I knew it wouldn't be anything like my usual greek holiday and I was a little worried. However, from the moment I stepped off the transfer bus my love of Roda began. The staff at the Pegasus were like nothing I'd experienced before - they were like old friends! And this continued when we walked into Roda later - we were greeted by everyone we passed in the street with a 'hello' or a wave. It was like North East England used to be 25 years ago! I'm coming back to Roda next year with my partner and I can't wait to experience the welcome I know we will get there. I know others have said Roda is 'too British', not very 'pretty', hasn't got the best beach etc., but in my opinion Roda is as Greek as you can get because the friendliness and warmth is what Greece is all about. Wherever you go in the world, Lynn, it is people who make the difference. It would seem, from what some say, that Roda stands out for friendliness - even amongst other Corfiot resorts. It is interesting to see the habits of people in the winter - there are so few here, but they are like one big family. Everywhere is an open house, and everyone is included. There is an longstanding tradition of welcoming everyone that underpins the reception that visitors receive throughout the summer. Thank you for your lovely review.

Steve,We agree wholeheartedly having just returned to Newcastle on Friday , .in winter people have more time to stop & talk. When we saw you in Skouna beginning of November ,Linda said the Cappoucinno was the best she had ever tasted.Along with the glorious weather we managed 3 walks to Acharavi which we could not do in August due to the heat.Looks like we will be doing more end of season visits.Dave
