Now Ryanair has decided to increase its luggage costs. As of today, luggage costs have increased to £20 each way. That is a cost of £160 per family of four. Yet another added cost. What is the point of offering cheap tickets, then add on the costs this way.
At least one thing. Is thoughts on standing room on aircraft (how ridiculous is that). Makes no difference, the Ryanair aircraft, 737-800s are licenced to carry 189 passengers. So no matter what O'Leary does. Take out seats, remove toilets, he cannot squeeze anymore in.
Wonder what he will come up with next. Buy a Pilot, highest bidder wins, or you do not fly.

I'd buy standing, if I was going to Derry or Dublin, if I got there cheap enough. Lucky if you're up in the air for 30 mins, flying to Derry.

Whatever Ryanair do, Chris, it makes little difference to visitors to Corfu because they do not fly here.

Yet Steve, but if he did, I would not use them (my opinion). One has to realise he is making a mockery of the whole business.

We said that once - that we would never fly Ryanair but I have nothing but praise for them after using them for the last four years. They are the cheapest way to travel to the UK from our local airport, Knock. Planes are clean, good turn round times, good flights with more than enough leg room and they are always, with the odd exception, on time. Michael O'Leary's comments are made tongue in cheek sometimes, but he gets the job done - at the moment he is fighting for the air taxes to be dropped - and more power to him. As an aside, I agree with the toilet charge on short flights - 'go before you go' - and why should someone who is not booking in hold luggage pay the same as someone who is? If you know how to avoid extra charges it's a good way to get from A to B with no hassle.

I have never flown with Ryanair but I think Mr O'Leary is a very shrewd man - he comes up with ridiculous suggestions about possible future changes/charges and gets a whole load of free publicity both in the press and on the TV - very clever!
regards, Kath.

Like I said, I have my opinion, and I except everyone elses, and probably would have felt the same had I had enjoyable flights with Ryanair. However, I feel that some of the matters that Mr. O'Leary raises does tend to, and has caused concerns for others, in particular those who have problems with flying.
It makes no difference what he tries to do with his aircraft. The fact remains that the aircraft is licenced as described above, therefore no more passengers can be boarded onto that flight even if there was standing room only throughout, and no toilets.
This has been discussed on many forums, sometimes heated debates. However, we cannot get away from the fact that there are some passengers who need such things as toilets, maybe due to medical matters, medication intake, or just being somewhat scared of flying.
As for luggage. We take the minimal we can for a two week holiday, but unless one intends to buy everything on arrival sometimes it becomes impossible to load all into a 5 or 7lb hand luggage, thus requiring a hold luggage. The comments about luggage is also tongue in cheek. In a way I agree that charges should be made, or better still a reduction in a ticket to those who do not take hold luggage. But do not keep putting it up because one is losing money elsewhere. If one books a holiday with any other company, there is no difference in whether you take luggage or not.
Edited by admin Not all Ryanair flights are successful or being used, if so why is he forever pulling routes out, shortly after starting them. Its not numbers, he would have known that for sure. He pulled a flight from Bournemouth to Nantes which was full all the time, why.

When XL went bust & we were forced to take the ferry to Venice, stay overnight and then fly from Treviso airport to Liverpool, there was no finer sight than that Irish harp on the tail fin of the plane as it landed in Italy. We were 5kgs each over weight with our hold baggage because with XL we had 20kgs and Ryanair's limit was 15, we were not charged any extra when we explained our situation. I for one wish that Ryanair would start to fly to Corfu, the more options the better as far as I'm concerned. At the end of the day the final price dictates whether or not i would choose to use them, at the moment Easy jet are getting all of my business. All of the flight companies dress up their prices one way or another, be it extra luggage, in flight meals, extra leg room or what ever. Pete.

I would wing walk on a bi-plane if it was only way to Roda. All airlines have good and bad points but if you can get to your destination for a reasonable cost who cares how much you pay for individual costings so long as the final figure is affordable. The more choice we have to get to Corfu the better, that would mean that the costing would become more competitive and therfore maybe a better deal for us regular visitors.
