Thomas Cook is looking to cut its annual costs by almost £9bn and wants to raise its net profits from 4.5% to at least 5.5% in 3/5 years (an increase of 25%).
To achieve this, the company is not only cutting commissions to independent agents, but slashing £60 - £80m off what it gives to accommodation owners.
Employees at Thomas Cook agencies will be expected to increase their individual sales targets by almost 20%, so watch out for the hard sell! At what point does consumer demand become consumer manipulation?
