Co-operative Travel have warned that Turkey’s tourist boom could be threatened by resorts looking to cash in. The country has been so heavily promoted by tour operators for reasons of their own profits that the inevitable seems to be happening. Massive rises of more than 40% can be expected this year in the costs charged by Turkish restaurants, bars and coffee shops which comes at exactly the same time as certain costs are falling in Greece and other popular destinations.
This 'boom & bust' cycle has been demonstrated on many previous occasions as resort operators get greedy. Thank goodness things in Roda are more predictable.
