A strong word or two and a bit of frustration accompanied a conversation overheard yesterday in Pirates' Bar. "I was going to mow my lawn today & now it's wet - hopefully it will be dry enough by 4:00 pm - let's have another drink while I'm waiting!"
The truth is that we have had one of the most beautiful, driest, sunniest Novembers that anyone can remember. Until Saturday, there had been no daytime rain for 18 days & only one overnight shower. It just goes to show that if you put something off for long enough, you may not have to do it at all! The next two days are forecast to be winds gusting up to 80 km/h with some structural damage and local flooding. No chance for the lawn this year, I reckon.
