A few weeks ago we reported on the problems of SkyEurope, the central european airline. The company is the highest profile low-cost carrier casualty in Europe since Scandinavian operator Sterling collapsed last October. Central European budget rival Wizz Air has been strengthening its presence at one of SkyEurope's former bases. Wizz established itself at Prague earlier this year and has already laid out plans to base two Airbus A320s at the airport. It is now planning to put a third A320 into Prague next year and plans to open new routes from June 2010, increasing its capacity at the airport by nearly 50%. Even though neither Ryanair nor easyJet have any immediate plans to fill the gap left by SkyEurope, everyone in the business is watching the development of the low-cost sector in central Europe with great interest.

I often wonder if other Low Cost European Airlines see what the likes of Mr. OLeary (Ryanair) is doing, and see that quite a number of passengers are getting peeved off with the way it is handled, are taking the opportunity to get in on the bandwagon so to speak.
If it gets into the UK, then better for us. Whizz did fly out of Bournemouth until Ryanair basically forced them out before their first flight.
Lets see what happens
