Hi all, This is my first post on here - a great forum full of useful information.
My family and I are off to Roda for the first time on July 17th staying in the Fiona-Theodorus. We went to Sidari in both 2005 and 2007. The only experience we had of Roda was driving down a road to the sea and turning around to continue to Kassiopi.
My question for anyone is regarding the internet. My teenage daughter is attached to her laptop and I wondered if she should take it. I know the Fiona has internet access but I guess that would be using their PC. Do hotels usually have wireless broadband? - if so what sort of cost is it? I cannot see her liking sharing a PC for reasons of privacy etc
I would contact Theo direct but I failed to get a response a couple of weeks ago when trying to book direct with the Fiona - we wanted a 2 bed room but have now booked with Olympic and had to take 2 studios - I just hope they are together as requested or we can swop when we arrive. Thanks for the info on taxis - well worth the price, so I must book. I am familiar with the long transfer to Sidari !

Hi kgde, welcome to the forum. We believe that Theo has Wi-Fi and we'll try to check as soon as our next online magazine is online later this week. We think there are several places around the village - two we are fairly certain of are Smiley's Bar & the Brandy Shop. Both are just 5 minutes walk from Theos. If you haven't done so already, don't forget to look at 'Roda Reports', almost 50 pages of information about the village and more to come this week.

Hi, welcome to the forum from me too! I think I know the answer to your question: My son Danny is working at Theodoros/Fionas at the moment and he brought his laptop with him to stay in contact with everyone overhere in Holland. Ever since he arrived he has been using Theo's internet, it's wireless internet (new ,since beginning of May!!) and it depends on where your room / apartment is, whether you can use it inside your room or just outside (near the main buiding). Danny has been changing rooms a few times, so his access to the wireless connection was sometimes very good and sometimes bad. If your room's too far from the computermodem, just take the laptop to the swimmingpool and you will see you have a rather good connection. I speak to my son through Skype almost every day and the connection is ok ,but not the same as we are used to in the Netherlands, every few minutes (max 20 minutes) or so , we loose connection and sometimes the connection is really bad . Bearing in mind that it's Greece and not Holland or UK, let your daughter bring her laptop and this way she can add on Facebook all of her new greek and other friends... . If she needs help, tell her to ask for Danny ( he will not be working at Theos because of his holidays starting 11 th of july, but he will be around Theo's until the 25th of July' I think) Have a nice holiday! Petra

Thank you for your replies. My daughter is happy she may be able to access the internet - I know an internet cafe may have been an option but sitting by the pool contacting friends seems the preferred option. It is sad that teenagers cannot be prised away from the internet these days - but it is a sign of the times I guess. Hopefully I have made a good choice with Roda and Theos.
