If the travel companies are going to discount holidays for the school holidays this summer, then they need to show their hands soon. With just one month to go, one would assume that numerous 'special offers' will start appearing any day now as unsold packages are unloaded on to the market. The tour operators of course, will first sell the holidays that are most profitable for them - where Roda is placed in that league remains to be seen.

Two things on this Steve. Everytime I am out an about it has become a course of action to window shop the Travel Agents etc on holidays, in particular relevant to Corfu. As we have reported in the past, not much is being advertised at the window, and when one goes into the shop, one is greeted with such responses as, No call for holidays on Greek Islands, Resort full up, Have you tried this area, etc etc etc.
Secondly, doing some work within schools in the past full time, and now in a part time mode, I find that by now most have booked up their holidays for the kids and families some time back, and very few, and I mean few are waiting for the last minute deal. Many still continue to go out of school holiday time to grab the cheaper options.
It is no good advertising now. If the TAs and TOs are going to do this they should do back at the beginning of the year or before.
Yeiamas, Chris

Was talking to some-one yesterday, her work colleague just returned from Kos. Was surprised how quiet it was. I said travel companies are detering people from Greece. Talking later to a work colleague of mine who is looking to book a last minute deal as fixture list is out. I said go to Greece and force the travel companies to look. Have told her to try Olympic or I can give her names of independant apartments in Roda. She is considering. Bev.
