If you are booking a late cheap holiday with TUI (Thomson) this summer, then pay attention to the small print. Tui Travel has introduced charges for coach transfers and baggage excess on certain holidays. On some trips customers will pay £10 per person for a coach transfer and £10 for every five kilos of luggage above 15kg. They say that these costs apply to low-priced bookings made four weeks from departure date and have been introduced as a way of stripping out the cost for the budget-conscious customer to enable them to go away this summer. In this way they are allowing their customers the choice and flexibility to decide for themselves where their money is best spent.
There has been criticism that they are removing parts of the package deal and then offereing to sell them back. It is believed that customers want a 'package deal' to mean just that - they do not want to be confused by clever tactics.
So 'Holidays with you in mind' strikes again by giving you something with one hand and taking it away with the other. They should be in politics!

Hi Kath. It seems to me from over here, that Gordon Brown has become a weather forecaster. He wants you to spend your money in the UK this summer with promises of hot weather. Has anyone heard of the outrageous Greek TV weather reporter, Petroula, who people look out for every day to see what raunchy outfit she is wearing?. Perhaps Good Old Gordon should do the same - after the 9:00pm watershed, of course! ;D

Hi Steve. You could make a mint by hiring out your little pink number to him!! (On second thoughts it would be us, the poor old tax payer who would be forking out for it). JackieM
