The Corfu Donkey Rescue still hold a commanding lead, although the 2nd place is receiving more votes on a daily basies. The gap is now down to 963, but at the difference rate, CDR should still be ahead come the 15th March. If you can get friends, relations, other websites you are a member of to cast their votes, this would be appreciated, none more so than by Judy Quinn and the animals at Corfu Donkey Rescue.

Some good news, Corfu Donkey Rescue has increase their lead again thanks to the voting over the last 24 hours or so. The difference between the first two places is 969, with CDR still holding 53% of the vote. I do feel that some tactical voting went on over the last 24 hours. Some big increases towards the 3rd, 4th and 5th places. However, it makes the competition more fun. Keep those votes coming in folks. Get onto your families and friends, other websites you belong to (does not have to be Corfu sites) and get them to get there votes in.

Once again the Corfu Donkey Rescue has dropped in the number of votes it gained, although still leads a commanding lead of 949 votes, which is around 52% of the overall voting. Still plenty of time to get you votes in for those who have not, and for friends and relatives and work mates outside the Corfu circle to cast their vote also. Only 15 days to go before voting closes. Help the Corfu Donkey Rescue, Judy Quinn and her team of volunteers to gain some hard cash for the new service.

The following message was received by me today from Judy Quinn, the wonderful lady who keeps the Corfu Donkey Rescue up and running with her band of volunteers. You will read that a lot more is required, and not just to keep the centre running. So lets get the votes in. By the way anyone wishing to make a personal donation, please look at the Corfu Donkey Rescue website on CORFU DONKEY RESCUE for details.

Hi Chris,
Thank you so much for all your help and all the votes from everyone re the Pavo contest. I have not emailed all my contacts list yet about this competition. It is very time consuming and time is precious at the moment. However, if it looks like we need a boost I can do it about a week before the competition closes. Maybe the other charities will do the same!
I really appreciate any publicity, we are so much in need of visitors and finances. We are about to complete on a land purchase which we have been given the money for by 2 foundations, one in UK and one from Germany. However, I have since found out that we need up to 10,000 euros for civil engineers, architect, Environmental Impact Survey etc etc – all to get the planning permissions and licenses for the shelter. This is paramount if we are not to be closed down. All this must be paid for and then we have to raise the funds for the buildings. The government are not giving us any special dispensations, we have to go through the mill like all house builders but it is far more complicated and strict. Thankfully our lawyer Lyberis Tryfon continues to do all our legal work pro bono, a very special man!
I enclose the story of Paralia our Roda donkey, he only came to us in January, so lucky for him and us that we have his story. Once again, many thanks and please pass my personal thanks to everyone who is supporting us through your message boards
Best wishes, Judy

Hi Dave, - they're roaming around 'Dave's paddock' as we speak - they loved those flowers that you planted last time you were here! ;D I'm sure that Corfu Donkey Rescue will find some special award for you. When do you get back? Steve

Keeping this sort of voting coming in, the Corfu Donkey Rescue comes ever closer to the prize. However, we must not hatch our chickens, but wait for the next 14 days to find out for definate. So keep the votes coming in, and at the same time if you can, help in anyway you feel to ensure that this wonderful facility remains up and running on Corfu.

Apologies for late entry, have been busy today. A somewhat different day on the voting, but Corfu Donkey Rescue still has 51% of the voting, where as the 2nd place contender has 34%. CDR also remains 885 ahead, and in theory, even if Stichting t'Olde Manegepeerd was to gain the same amount of votes each day, would not put them into 1st place. Nevertheless keep the votes coming in from sources you know have not voted. I have contacted other places, even non Corfu related again today who will be casting their votes too.

Yet again, another different result on the voting today, in the Corfu Donkey Rescues favour. Their lead has now opened up again to 902, and as the days tick away, hopefully this will remain in the CDR's quest to win. It is too much to thank everyone, but please accept this a thank you from me, and on behalf of the CDR.

Well, what can one say, a fantastic increase in voting over the past 24 hours for the Corfu Donkey Rescue. CDR has regained 52% of the vote, with a lead over the 2nd place by 1051 votes. A further change, although not a contender has seen the Brooke Hospital for Animals move into 3rd place. Again on behalf of everyone and everyone, and the CDR a big thank you for your support.

And for the second day running, the Corfu Donkey Rescue goes further ahead in the lead, with an overall lead of 1148 votes, still holding over half of the voting input at 53%. This is great news for Judy Quinn, The CDR, and the volunteers who do such a great job caring for the Donkeys and other animals. There is only 10 days of voting left.

This is such good news with just over a week to go, and the Corfu Donkey Rescue zooms ahead even further. The last minute spurt on by all those websites we have contacted, and indeed Judy Quinn herself as also contacted. The CDR holds a commanding lead of 1224 votes, holding onto a 54% overall.
