As June approaches all the hotels and self-catering businesses are all more-or-less open with a few exceptions I have noted on my walks around the village. We now have too many self-catering and AirBnB places to mention, but I have seen that Valentino's is now in the process of opening, but there seems to be no movement at Makris, Venus or Sunlife apartments. Semeli Hotel, which is for sale, is being using as staff accomodation for other hotels.

An update on Valentino's. The accomodsation has been open for a few weeks, but today as I went past the pool was full with sunbeds around it and the bar is now open.
The Brandy shop. Maria has been bust with her plants and it looks ready for opening, but no news as yet. I am expecting it to open in a few weeks like the Wave Bar by the bus stop, it opened in June last year. Everywhere else is open including Mystique, Vaso from Big Ben's, all the travel agents and car hire places are also open. Joanne's bakery and tea room was a welcome addition but we are still waiting for the fish and chipe shop to start frying as it looks like Chippy Chippy in Sidari has closed.

I noticed today as I drove passed that Valentino's had closed for the season and the pool was already empty. They are usually the first to finish, and Alexandros Pool have said fairwell messages for the close of their season on Facebook, whilst looking forwrad to next season. Now I will start to see fewer and few lights around the bay as I walk back from the vaillage at night.

The end of season closures are continuing with Il Gelato closing its doors yesterday, along with Pixida. Pixida and its owner Salvatore will be missed having been a fixture in Roda, at both sites, for many years. I understand that Ammos Grill will be closing shortly in a few days time.Corfu Compass NSK has closed its beachside office and is operating from its other office opposite the Mastoras Clinic.

Latest closures for the end of the season. Petrino Seki and Makis apartments. The Boathouse is on retricted hours and closed some days for Jon to be able to play football. I could see some sunbeds and parasols being emoved ready for winter storage. I think the closures will accelerate after this coming weekend as we have had the last major arrival of visitors this week.

Many businesses are on reduced hours or closing. The Harbour bar and the Dolphin closed yesterday and the Mexican and Indian are going in the next few days. Some of the tourist shops are also closing, or again on reduced hours. The visitor numbers now are dropping steadily, I expect most will be gone by the 30th, with maybe a few stragglers at Roda Beach.

The closures continue with Theodoros Resort, the Brandy Shop and the Afrodite all closed by yesterday. With the Afrodite were all the businesses in the same block, Jennys and Seaside plus the Yacht club restaurant and bar. There are still more than enough bars, restaurants and grill rooms open to more than meet the need of our current visitors.

I must appologise as I said Theodoros was closed, my mistake. When I drove to work the gates were closed across, they are always open then. I put 2 and 2 together and got the wrong answer, sorry. Crusoes though has finished for the season as has Seaport and Achilleas's Boats. Tonight it looked as though the Boat house was finished as well.

OK we had a nice afternoon and Jon at the Boathouse opened, but closed for the evening. The poor weather we're expexting will I think close several more places.

The closures continue with Seaport and Alexandros in the Village, Alexandros on the Beach is doing its last Greek Night tonight, as there are still guests in Robollo and Roda Beach. The platforms for Achileas's Boats and The Brandy Shop have now been removed to protect them from the winter storms. Pirates finishes doing meals on the 31st, which is when The Drunken Sailor starts its winter hours. The Thorntree is on winter opening from today. It is OXI day tomorrow, the Greek equivalent of our Remembrance Sunday. It is a public holiday and there will be parades in town and Acharavi. I expect some businesses will not open after it.

The closures continue, Theodoros is definitly closed with the pool empty and the sun loungers being cleaned and drying in the sun. Boat house ahs gone also his dad's supermarket across the road. The Elizabeth apartments closed a couple of days ago, and the Coral closes in a day or two. Last night we still had Skouna, Roxanne's and Agrillia open. Pirates and Oscars are all year and Agrillia were still open, and The Drunken Sailor closes on Monday I believe. Crazy forks closed for some for the winter to have a break.

Yesterday's closures included the Coral Hotel, Angelina and John's apartments. Also Roda Park has closed its doors and Agrillia is now on winter opening hours, Friday, Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch. The Thorntree has reduced it opening to Friday to Sunday. Niko's family taverna closes today I believe. Roxannes had a Greek Night last night to round the season off.
