It is with deep sadness that I have to report the passing this week of Billy. He was found in his house and it is believed he passed peacefully. Billy was well known to all in Roda and to most of the regular tourists here; he lived here for over 30 years and worked in many jobs - initially water sports, later in construction, for Top Gear and finally a little job at Alexandros. His daughter is over to make arrangements; it is not known as yet if he will be buried here or flown to the UK. What is known is that Roda will not be the same this summer without seeing Billy about.

This is very sad news indeed. Billy was a wonderful character who was always up for a chat. He will be very sadly missed around the village by all who had the privilege of meeting him.

A good turn out of some 100 people at the Church on a nice sunny day. Family asked for a closed coffin but it had a nice photo of a younger Billy on it. We then proceded to Sfakera for the burial.

So sad to read this - I only found out this morning. I seem to have known Billy forever - many many years - and we had some good natters about Manchester back in the day, which is where he and my late husband came from. God bless you Billy - now a member of the Corfu 'last of the summer wine crew' - husbands and friends and locals who have gone over the last few years, all of whom I am sure, are wreeking havoc either up or down - wherever they are!!
