Hi. We’re coming back to Roda in June, staying at Blue Gardens. Any suggestions for restaurants a bit “off the beaten track” so to speak? No doubt we’ll do all of our old favourites in Roda anyway, but as we’ll have a car for the week, thought it might be nice to venture further afield, within reason. Thanks in advance.

There’s a lovely traditional resteraunt/taverna call Gregory’s in Astrakeri- about 10 mins by car. Turn right at the main crossroads leaving Roda. Beautiful views out to sea. Fresh fish and traditional Greek food. Nice drive up to Old Perithia in the hills. There are a few traditional tavernas. Nice place for a walk around - stunning views.

Thanks Jan, will put the Astrakeri one on my list. Went up to old Perithia last time we were in Roda, stunning. Didn’t eat there though, it’s on our list for this time.

Go to a village Taverna. Neon in Sfakera, just mile inland from Roda, has a lovely menu of homemade traditional village food. Pies are delicious. The chips all hand cut. Very friendly hosts Spiros and Anna.

The Three Brothers, also at Astrakeri also has a good reputation, also if you want to indulge a bit go to Agni a beautiful spot with three or four restaurants Our favourite is Nikolas, but Toulah's also is supposed to be good. The restaurant A La Palaia at Strinilas is very authentic with their own vineyard across the road. Close to Roda go to To Neon in Sfakera lovely homecooked food.

Hi Wendy, Sunrise Taverna on the road to Karousades just before the right turn to Astrakeri. Great food and great views down to the sea. Yakis and his family are always welcoming and if you go, try the "Rollo" as its a special dish cooked using an old family recipe his father Kostas has passed down to him. We eat there at least once when we are over.

Oh my, spoilt for choice! We’re only there for 7 nights, need to go to The Dolphin for red snapper, The Odysseus in Acharavi, and Theo’s (used to be Odysseus, can’t remember new name). Those three are definites. So looks like we’ll have to eat more than once a day, I’ll be like the side of a house at this rate😂 Not to mention snacking at Alexandros Pool, lovely subs from Yummies.... and Blue Gardens food is supposed to be nice too...

I’m only 9 stone dripping wet, the side of a house comment was a joke. I shall be stuffing my face and certainly not worrying about dieting -)

We went to Neon in Sfakera last night. Had a lovely meal, and a couple of drinks, and so reasonably priced. Thanks for the heads up everyone, well worth a visit!
