With the big storm predicted to arrive overnight, we thought it prudent to retrieve our prize ‘sproutha’ from the garden. Lynne & Arden tell us that ‘sprouthopita’ is doing the rounds in the villages and if you’ve never tasted Greek pumpkin pie, then do try to find some or make your own. This ‘Muscat’ squash grew straight out of the base of our compost heap and is even bigger than last year’s specimen. Jan could just about hold it up and we’ll need to take it to the airport to weigh it.

No green fingers, kaz, as this one grew wild. We also have nine other smaller ones - what do you suggest we do with them?
