We all agree that the media spins stories in its own interests and it’s amazing how the same event reported in the UK, can be seen quite differently in Greece. This is a article just published in Greek Reporter:
GREEK DEMOCRACY

Politics and who is being more unreasonable aside: I found this article quite useful. www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-33205269I will not be cancelling my holiday, but I will bring all my spending money in Euro's with us. Usually I bring some and then use Halifax Clarity card. But as I am on holiday and want to relax, I will bring the cash and use the safe. I have made sure I am covered by my insurance for the cast amount as well. Can't imagine cancelling my holiday to Roda!! Ben

Will be in the air on the way to Roda at this time in six weeks and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else as I have to many good friends in Roda. I just look for a good rate for euros and get them throughout the year always take all my euros in cash.

That’s a well-balanced article, Ben - more representative than most.

Hi. Just to confirm what has been said earlier. DO NOT BELIEVE THE BRITISH PRESS. Even if what they say is half true - my disabled wife and I would STILL be flying on Thursday! We love Corfu and the people who live there! After reading BBC website and listening to the news this morning I thought that a few things weren't right. Sent some messages to people in road and..... We are still coming! The only difference is we are bringing slightly more cash than usual - because mythos has gone up!!

For those, including me, who are trying to understand Greece’s viewpoint on what has been happening with the EU, Alexis Tsipras’s referendum announcement puts the current feelings into context very succinctly. This article contains a transcript of that part of his speech.

Good for you, Breakfastbloke - There is a report that prices in Crete & Corfu have actually dropped by 13% this year, while exchange rates are better than last year ... better value than ever! Enjoy your stay.
