I have a Thomas Cook cash passport which I loaded all of my holiday money on to when the exchange rate was highest. They have said I can just take my card in and they will give me the full amount of Euros that are on the account. Just 3 weeks to my holiday now, getting a little bit excited lol

I’m glad to see that the tour operators are cooperating, Sharon. Look forward to seeing you back home in Roda... !

Are the ATMs working normally now or should we bring handfuls of Euro notes?

Both, Richard - the ATMs have always worked, apart from a hiccup on the first couple of days, the advice is still to bring Euros - certainly it would be appreciated by the locals.

But surely when you withdraw from the cashpoint that is Euros ! We were intending to use our nationwide card as usual - would you not recommend that we do. I am confused!

These are two current excerpts from the UK Government website, Kath:
The currency of Greece is the euro. When travelling outside the UK you should take more than one means of payment with you (cash, debit card, credit card). There’s a possibility that banking services throughout Greece – including credit card processing and servicing of ATMs – could potentially become limited at short notice.
Make sure you take enough euros in cash to cover the duration of your stay, emergencies, unforeseen circumstances and any unexpected delays.
