Tonight there was the slightly surreal sound of Scottish bagpipes being played on the jetty at Roda harbour. A friend of Maggie and Des brought his pipes out to play for a friend's birthday. So there we were outside the Boathouse enjoying an early evening beer in beautiful surroundings and a busy terrace when the haunting sounds of the bagpipes drifted across from the harbour. A cruise liner was making her stately way up the sound at the same time which only added to the magic. The one and only time that Steve and myself didn't have a camera or a smart phone between us!!!! The piper then played his way along the beach front back to the Boathouse and got a rousing round of applause for his playing. I hope the people dining and their Greek hosts appreciated such a lovely event.

Yes, the drifting sound of the pipes added an unusual, and not unwelcome flavour to Roda Village.
